How to select freehand in CS6?

Hi,
I am looking for a way to select areas in my picture completely freehand (i.e. by painting over them with a paintbrush), similar to how the quick selection tool works, but I don't want the program to select anything but what I paint over. The quick selection tool adds certain areas based on similar colors, and I don't want that.

You can use quick mask (shortcut Q), paint in the areas you want, then exit quick mask to get your selection.

i try to move all particular objects to new layer
so first i try to select items by strokeWidth.

I dont't know if something like app.runMenuItem is possible in CS6+ (I doesn't work with CS6/CC)
But you can create an action and call this action with
Application.doScript (action: string , from: string , dialogs: Boolean )
This is definitly possible in CS6+

I'm new to Mac operating system. Can anyone tell me how to select multiple images in cs6 photoshop? Without having to hold down a shift or cmd key and clicking on each one.

I assume you are using the Shape tool to draw your hexagons. After you drag out the shape, use the Transform controls to tweak the size, so that the width is evenly divisible by 4, and the height is an even number. If you wand a gap between shapes, include that in your adjustments. Make a note of the new width and height.
Once the scaling is committed and the shape is selected, Control+Alt+T to Free Transform Copy, and in the Option Bar, set the X and Y to Relative. Set X to zero, and Y to the height you set earlier, and commit the Transform. Then Repeatedly press Shift+Control+Alt+T to make more transformed copies.
With a vertical column of shapes, Alt-Click on the Shape Path in the Paths panel to select the whole path. Control+Alt+T again. This time, again using relative, set X to three-quarters of the width you noted earlier, and Y to one-half the height, and commit
Finally, again Alt-click on the Shape Path in the Paths panel, and Transform Copy relative with X = one and a half times the width you noted, and Y to zero. After committing this, Shift+Control+Alt+T as above to extend more columns.
And JJ, those are Octagons .

While I am in a selective mode in cs6 my screen flickers black. How do i fix this?

This is extremely frustrating while I try to work. It makes my editing time so much longer. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Selecting items in CS6

I know this is ridiculous, but I just upgraded to cs6 and I can't figure out how to select items on the canvas, aside for selecting each individual layer on the layers panel.
I have Mac os X 10.7.4, and I previously had cs5.5 on my laptop.
I was able to use the direct select tool to select mulitple items by either dragging it would select anything in the box or using shift to select multiple items. Do I have to click on every item in the layer panel to select it on the canvas? Is there a option that I have checked when it should be unchecked?
I should probably add that I am trying to select multiple layers of text along with shapes.

My recommendation is to slow down, take a deep breath, and deal with each issue separately. There are a number of preferences that can affect the things you're trying to do.
Rest assured that while there are some changes from Photoshop CS5, they're not as likely to be what's getting in your way as differences in settings that you've changed over time.
As you change preference settings in Photoshop, you might want to make notes. Then next Photoshop upgrade you'll have a script you can work from.

How many artboards will Illustrator CS6 be able to handle?

I layout catalogs and production matarials for a pajama company. I use pattern swatches extensively to depict our pajama patterns on illustrated garment blanks. Because InDesign can't handle pattern swatches (and I just found out that CS6 STILL won't be able to), I've been doing all my layout in Illustrator- one page at a time. I'm still using CS3, and I'm trying to convince my boss to upgrade. I wonder how the multiple artboards in CS6 will handle catalog layout? I know it won't have the functionality of InDesign, but would it be feasable to put together a ~100 page catalog in Illustrator? Links to a tutorial or two would really help, also.

I know I can import objects that have an applied pattern fill, but I'm constantly changing, updating, re-applying the fills, and it's ended up easier to do things one page at a time rather than bounce back and forth between InDesign and Illustrator for every little change on thousands of individual items. Also, the way an object with an applied pattern fill comes in to InDesign- it's like a clipping mask, so I've got selectable, yet invisible information where the pattern swatch falls outside the borders of the object- and it very quickly turns into an unmanageable soup of selectable stuff.
I can also rasterize them, but it doesn't match the fewer items that are still vector. I could rasterize ALL the illustrations so they match, but then I'm bouncing between Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign to make all the myriad of changes my boss wants me to make.

Hi, you don't mention what system you are using. Mac or PC
On Mac running Lion I use Launchpad and select the Icon.
Within CS6 I mainly use the Mini Bridge icon which you can
"unsnap" and enlarge to move away from the filmstip style.
On the PC sorry can't help you.

How do I download Premiere CS6 with Encore?

I am putting together a wedding video and updated all my apps including Premiere to CC and uninstalled Encore, thinking there was a CC version. Well, I need to burn this video to a DVD with a cool menu and had one already created in Encore but can't use it since it's installed. I saw in another forum message that you have to redownload the entire Premiere CS6 family, but when I signed into my Adobe ID at CreativeCloud.com, found Premiere CS6, then selected Download Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, it opened the old Creative Cloud Download Manager, but Premiere CS6 never appeared.
I thought this was because I still had Premiere CS6 installed, so I uninstalled it, thinking it would now work. I restarted my Macbook Pro and when I select the download, it still opens the Download Manager and Premiere CS6 never ever comes up. How can I get Premiere CS6 back on my computer. I need it to finish this video and I'm on a deadline.

I have 10 indd files and each file has one page and a table is only item present on page. So few files has table present in one table and few files has two text boxes because table has many rows so spiltted in two linked text boxes.
I somehow able to select both text boxes but while exporting them only one text box table get exported as png because of improper code.

You can upgrade to Mavericks free, just run the App Store program and search for Mavericks. But before you do upgrade I recommend the following:
1) make sure you have a recent backup. TimeMachine is fine.
2) Mavericks is somewhat more memory hungry than 10.7 was. You will need 4 GB of RAM and I strongly recommend 8 GB.
Go back to the Apple menu and select About this Mac - look under the OS info you just looked at. You'll see how much RAM your computer has now. Then click on the More Info button. There you will see your computer info listed as in: iMac, 21.5" mid 2010, for example. Return back with that information and we can tell you how far the computer can be upgraded.
If you decide to procede and you have enough RAM upgrading to Mavericks is quite simple. Click on the download button and let it do its job.
