How to select margin icons in tabs panel?

the pointer is always loaded with a tab, so that when I try to select a margin to create a hanging indent, a tab is inserted.
quite maddening.
please and thank you.

Well, I was thinking your second-born child, Scott, but the cursor will work too.
P-Dan: hold your option (alt) key down and drag your cursor over the NAMES of the objects (or groups or layers) in the layers panel. If you want to skip over an object or two (or 10), hold both shift and option keys down and click on the noncontiguous object you want to add to the selection. From there, with the option key still down, you can continue selecting contiguous objects. Or hold the shift and option keys down and hop-scotch through your layers panel selecting discontiguous objects at will.
If all of this is too much for you, a viable alternative is to go into dentistry.
May I remind you all also that Monika suggested this very technique way up high in this thread.

  • How do i get two spry tabbed panels to render properly in design view?

    I have inserted two spry tabbed panels into a simple web page.  The second panel appears off to the side of my design view window.  When i preview it in a browser it comes out fine but i can't seem to get the design view the same.  If i insert new paragraphs the tabbed panels look okay in the design view, but when viewing in the browser theres waaay to much space between them.  Any suggestions?

    Without seeing your page, not much to suggest other than making sure your code is valid.  DW is sensitive to coding errors that some browsers will overlook.

  • How do you add a horizontal tabbed panel within the eCommerce "Individual-Product-Large" page?

    I am a new user to Business Catalyst and Muse web design... So sorry if this seems like a daft question
    I have created a website in Muse.
    Then I created the template page that BC can reference for the eCommerce area and inserted the tag to hold content from the BC - {tag_pagecontent}.
    I then created products and catalogues, grouped products etc - all groovy. Working great.
    I then decided that it was time to style the page as per my design - snap shot below (similar to how i did for the blog - which works great).
    So i started with the page layout.
    I managed to move the content from left to right and change widths, i then started to try to create the tabbed section in the same way and ba bowwwwww - epic fail
    I want to use a "Horizontal Tabbed Widget" as per the one i picked from Muse.
    I have a LOT of information that is unique for each product, so rather than have this huge page, its just easier to show it this way - plus it seemed pretty standard on other eCommerce site...
    But I am stumped.
    I'm so confused, i thought if i copied what seemed like a standard on other sites it would be fairly easy, especially since Muse has the Horizontal Tabbed widget - i though it would just come over to BC.
    Except, i can't get it to work...
    I'm not sure what i am doing wrong?
    A) I would like the "Individual-Product-Content" to look like the Horizontal Tabbed Widget in the screen shot of the original design from inside Muse below - im sure its possible.
    The Tabbed section is unique to the product, as is the description and the little icons bottom left and the ingredients.
    B) then the next conundrum is that each tab would have unique text to the product it is showing, how do i add those fields into the BC Product menu where the product is created and added to catalogues etc.
    I have searched and searched the web and have found nothing that is helpful.
    Anything that i have found only does a portion of what i need.
    I found something on jQuery - should i be using this?
    Or can i create the same thing using CSS?
    Or should i be combing jQuery with the BC Web Apps?
    I'd really just like help where i can be pointed in the direction of the instructions to achieve this.
    I even downloaded the BC instruction manual, which also has nothing.
    I'm sure that the answer is very very simple - but i'm just not experienced enough and after a week of trying to find the solution i thought i'd ask the experts!
    I really do appreciate anyone who takes the time to help me out.
    Thanks heaps!

    Current layout in Adobe BC:

    HI DAVIDFON, Thank you for replying to my post.
    I am using Adobe Business Catalyst to build the eCommerce component of the site. This is where i came a cropper.
    I'm not using Bootstrap or Foundation. I have done a little research on both and am wondering how easy it is to add the tabbed section to Business Catalyst with Bootstrap? nothing really explains this online...
    I'm also wondering how easy it is to put in custom information in the tabbed sections when the fields and tags are not available in Business Catalyst.
    Do you know if i can add custom fields and new tags in Business catalyst when you add products in BC?
    I'm sure you can but i can't find any reference to this online either?
    Thanks for your help.

  • More than one spry tabbed panels

    Hi,
    On my index page I have a tabbed panel with it own css (size,
    color, etc.)
    I would like to insert another tabbed panel on another page
    (tabbed panel2). I would like this to have its own css style
    (different size, color scheme, etc.)
    When I insert a spry tabbed panel in dreamweaver it
    automatically takes on the css of my original tab panel design! How
    can I let the second tabbed panel take on its own life, completely
    independent of the first one?
    Thank you.

    Create a second set of CSS rules for it. The easiest way is
    to make a
    copy of SpryTabbedPanels.css, and call it
    SpryTabbedPanels2.css. Link
    SpryTabbedPanels.css to the original page, and
    SpryTabbedPanels2.css
    to the page that you want to look different.

  • Formatting Spry Tabbed Panel so tabs appear on the right side

    Hi, I know this is a rookie question, but that is because I'm a rookie. How can I format a Spry Tabbed Panel so the tabs appear on the top-right side rather than the default top-left. I found the solution on the Adobe Labs site, but couldn't get it to work. If anyone can please help me with the code or point me in the right direction if I can change it with css. Thanks.

    Add/modify the following
    .TabbedPanelsTab {
        float: right;
    Using the above, you will have to remember that the first tab will be on the extreme right.

  • Spry Tabbed Panels - Forms within Panels

    Any thoughs on how to place updatable Forms within Tabbed
    Panels. I thought it might be interesting to try to use the Spry
    Tabbed Panels to allow Updating specific areas of a database using
    each tab to update specific fields of a table. When doing this
    using the Update server behavior I create all sorts of variable
    issues.
    Anybody have thoughts on this... or an alternate method to
    create the same effect?

    Hi Gramps-
    Were you able to use the widget in Firefox?  For me, it just displays of the panels, one on top of the other and no tabs.  Maybe my browser's broken (that would be the best case scenario).  I'll start there.
    Thanks!

  • Internal Links in Spry tabbed Panels

    Does anyone know how to create internal links from tabbed
    panel to tabbed panel in a Spry tabbed panel asset?
    I used a tabbed panel layout for articls on my site, with
    each subsection of the article in a different tabbed panel.
    I want to put a link at the bottom of each tabbed panel's
    content allowing the reader to go to the next tabbed panel's
    content.
    I know the reader can click on the tabs at the top, but I
    want them to be able to click a "next page" button
    at the bottom of each tab as well.
    When I place a named anchor within the content of a tab's
    content and link to it from a word within another tab's content,
    the link does not work. I've tried it in Safari, Firefox, and IE.
    Doesn't work in any.
    If there's a Spry/Ajax expert out there, could you come up
    with a work around? Internal links within Spry Tabbed Panels would
    be very useful.
    An example of using the Spry tabbed panel format for a news
    article is here:
    http://www.avalonwine.com/Zanzibar-Cellars.php
    Thanks for help anyone can offer.
    Jean

    I am having the exact same problem. I would like to link an
    image from my "Home" tab to the top of my "Projects" tab. But the
    image link to the Named Anchor at the top of the "Projects" tab
    does not work. Named anchors within a tabbed panel work fine. I'm
    just not able to cross between tabs. Is there some script we can
    add to the link to invoke the Spry tabbed panel widget? thanks,
    Jen

  • How do I put an image in a spry tabbed panels tab

    Hello All,
    I am currently working on a site with Spry Tabbed Panels.
    One thing I'm not sure how to do is to put an image in each of the selecting tabs. I've done it before and I've forgot. I also have a site with an example of what I would like to do.
    http://emilymagnuson.com
    The tabs on this site were created with images inside of them. And I would like to know how to do it. I would like to make it work so the image changes when you click, hover, and deselect.
    Thank you.

    To put an image in the foreground, add it to your HTML code:
    <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">
    <div style="margin-top:9px;"><img src="your_image_here.jpg">Contact</div>
    </li>

  • Spry Tabbed Panels - How do I force the active panel to scroll to top of browser?

    I have some tabbed panels about 600px down a page. When one of the tabs is selected I would like the tabbed panels to scroll to the top of the browser window as per the function on this page: <http://www.godaddy.com/email/online-storage.aspx?ci=55860>
    The URL for my development page is: <http://www.worldchallenge-internationalschools.com/dev/asia/asia.html>
    Can anybody please shed some light on how to do this? It's driving me crazy. Any suggestions appreciated!

    It appears to me as if this might work by an on-page link/anchor, because that is what happens when you click an on-page anchor link: the selection pops to the top of the screen. If that is it, it is not Spry, it is simple <a href...> code.
    The problem is that there is also coding going on, with javascript, and links don't work as usual on tabs in Spry.
    Perhaps this will bounce to the top and Gramps will check in with some words of wisdom regarding this question.

  • Spry Tabbed Panel - Dotted outline around selected tab

    Hello there,
    I noticed in Spry Tabbed Panels, once a tab is selected,
    there is a dotted outline around the selected tab (the 'focus').
    How do I hide it? I've seen a similar set up using JQuery which has
    the dotted outline automatically disappear after a tab is selected.
    I've set up a demo at my personal website to illustrate what I'm
    getting at.
    http://www.sgdanielwang.com/spry/tabbed.htm
    Could someone spare a bit of time to have a look and advise
    me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Dan

    Thanks, Arnout.
    Your solution got rid of the dotted focus outline. However
    the problem persists in Internet Explorer. I read at the following
    site:
    http://codylindley.com/Javascript/223/hiding-the-browsers-focus-borders-should-i-shouldnt- i
    that the focus can be hidden using a javascript which looks
    for all <a> element in the HTML file and disables the focus.
    But in the case of the Spry Tabbed Panel, the <a> is actually
    specified in CSS. Is there a CSS 'hack' to make the focus disappear
    in Internet Explorer?
    Rgds,
    Dan

  • I put a Spry Tabbed Panel obj in my site at...how I centered it, to the container div width?

    I put a Spry Tabbed Panel obj in my site at
    http://l-web-dev.net/
    how I centered it, to the container div width?

    Add this to your document:
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    #content .story .myTabbedPanels {
        margin-right: auto;
        margin-left: auto;
        width: 550px;
    -->
    </style>
    Then change the following line
      <div class="story" style="width:550px;">
    to
      <div class="story myTabbedPanels">
    At a later stage you could add the style rules for myTabbedPanels to /styles/css-styles.css after having removed it from this document.
    That is it.

  • Book tab/panel/icon location irritation

    Is there any way I can get the Book tab/panel/icon (whatever it's called) to stay in my panels toolbar, which I have docked on the right side of my screen? Every time I start FM9 the book panel opens on the left side of the GUI and I have to minimize it and manually drag it over to the right side of the screen and dock it with the other icons. Am I missing something obvious?
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Ron,
    I do not know exactly how FrameMaker's workspace management works, and I do not move the book panel around, but this may help.
    FrameMaker has the ability to save your workspacet, but it appears NOT to work when just the book file is open. When a document within the book is open, you can rearrange the workspace and save it (giving it a name) using the workspace drop-down in the upper right corner of the application window. It should remember this workspace the next time you open FrameMaker; however, it does not open the panels, etc, until you open a document; opening the book file is not sufficient.
    I have noticed that when I close all the document files and have just the book file open, all the panels, except the book panel, disappear. If I open a panel, it appears at the default place that Frame wants to put it, not where I had put it in the workspace. If I were to open a document file, then Frame moves that panel to the place at which I saved it in my saved desktop. I think this is because Frame allows NO custom workspace with just a book file open. This seems a real deficiency to me.
    So, my suggestion is to open a book and one of its document files. Set up your workspace as you want, and save it. When you open just the book file, Frame will likely put it on the left side as its default. Without moving the book file, open one of its documents, and my guess is that Frame will move the book file panel to where you want it, where you had it stored in your custom workspace. I have not tried this, because I leave the book panel on the left, but the other panels behave this way.
    Hope this helps, but it may not,
    Van

  • Since the FF update, why does the open tabs panel retract when a page is selected and is there a way to keep it visible?

    Since the recent update on FF android, the tab panel that appeared on the left of the tablet screen now retracts when a tab is selected. This means that I have to scroll back to the toolbar to select the tab icon to switch to a different open tab. I prefer the old option which left all the tabs visible on the side making it easy to swtich between them. Is there any way to turn this off?

    As stated before, this just keeps the adress bar from disappearing, the open tabs bar will still disappear :/

  • I have Firefox 13.0. I have the homepage with the icons such as history, but I do not have the updated tabs.How do I get the updated tabs? Thanks.

    I have just updated to Firefox 13.0. I have the AVG Secure Search on my browser or whatever it is that is where the search engines and refresh, and bookmarks icons are located. Even though on my add ons page it says it is disabled. But obviously it isn't because it still works. I have removed AVG Secure Search from the list of search engines in the drop down list in the search bar, but this did not solve the problem with my tabs. The Firefox website says that my Firefox is up to date, but if it is up to date why do I still have the same old tab page when I open a new tab? When I click on the plus sign to get a new tab, it takes me to about:Tabs and says on the screen "You've opened a new tab." Then it has a search bar and a button next to it that says "Web Search!" Then it goes on to say "With Tabs You Can..." So, how do I change my current tabs to the updated Firefox tabs with icons of the my recent tabs and websites I regularly visit. Also can you please provide detailed step by step ways to solve this problem. Thanks.

    You only see items on the about:newtab page if the history is enabled and the browsing cache is working (stores thumbnails).
    *Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Viewing_the_browsing_history_-_Firefox
    You can check the current cache usage on the about:cache page and in Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage.
