How to sell a removed version

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but it's my best guess.
I have a Family Pack of iWork 06. I installed it on 3 computers. I'm looking now to purchase iWork '09. If I removed iWork 06 from each of the computers would there be any problem selling on Ebay or Amazon? Any way to deregister it so the new purchaser would be able to use the key without any problem?

There is no need to "deregister" iWork '06. You just need to remove it from your computers before selling it. This user tip will help you find all of the pieces that need to be deleted. Don't delete any templates you created unless you want to recreate them from scratch. Also, the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist (or .keynote) file in each user's Library > Preferences doesn't need to be deleted. The iWork '09 apps will use the same preferences or you can set them again from scratch (not a bad idea).
Make sure you sell the whole iWork '06 package - DVD, box, all documentation & the serial number card.

I gather that they are independent but I would now like to remove version 1.4.1 because I can't see much point in keeping both.
In Windows XP I went to Add/Remove Programs and LightRoom 1.4.1 is no longer listed (just version 2.3 is listed there) and I can't find an uninstaller in the 1.4.1 application folder.

When I delete duplicates how do I know which version is the original song and which is the duplicate?

I have recently transfered all my music to a new computer and duplicates have appeared in my itunes. I have chosen to 'show exact duplicates' so that it is easier for me to delete, but I can't work out which version of the song I need to delete. (When I click to delete on the top version a box appears stating 'move to recycle bin', but when I click on the second version the box which appears just says 'delete file from itunes.')
Also - does any one know where these duplicates have emerged from?!?
I hope I have given enough info. I would be super grateful if someone could shed some light on this!

Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

How to delete the many versions of the same song?

Help please, how do I delete old versions of a song? When I add to or tweak a piece, I first save it with a new name, like song 1, then song 2, etc. so that I have a copy of every change. This takes up space when I have 50 versions each of 10 songs. Now my hard drive is down to 7.4 and I was told to keep it in the double digits. I went to Logic,
chose the song from the next column, then in the next column filled with versions of the same song, I selected one, like old version 1, hit delete and nothing happened. I held down the apple key too and hit delete. Nothing. HELP please. I have not used this before but my 1-1 has ended since Apple won't allow renewals anymore. Also. I have all versions saved on 2 external hard drives.

Hi,
now first you'll need the right permissions for the folder where your songs are stored. I assume that you have the read/write permissions (or supervisor permissions).
Let's assume your songs are named "songxversiony.logic". They will reside in a main folder named "songx" containing all the "songxversiony.logic" files, and there will be subfolders called "audio files" "bounces" "Fade files" "Project File Backups" "Sampler Instruments" (maybe) and "Undo Data" and maybe one or two others.
1st: Usually, Logic stores your songs in /(your username)/music/Logic/... , so please open your finder and look if they are there.
2nd: You can delete all unneeded "songxversiony.logic" files from the finder. This should be possible by hitting the delete button. Otherwise check your permissions.
3rd: Now getting rid of the Song file (xy.logic) won't delete the really big Disk-Hogs, which are the Audio Files you used in earlier versions (but don't need them anymore). They still reside in the "Audio Files" subfolder.
4th: Fire up Logic, load your Project. Tap the "B" key to open the Bin and there you'll have all the audio files that ever were used in your project. Now many of them aren't needed anymore. So *within the bin* hit Shift-U to select all unused Audio files (or in the menu: edit -> select all unused). Hit DEL to remove them from the bin.
5th: Now these hogs are *still there* (what the...? ) To finally get rid of them, go to Logic's Menu bar: File -> Project -> clean up. You will be asked if you really want to delete the unused files, and yes, off they go to the trash.
You may also look inside the bounces folder if there are old bounces you don't need anymore.

Did you downloaded and installed Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 through Creative Cloud.
After uninstalled them, Creative Cloud saying applications are "Up to Date" when not installed.
If this is the case then please perform the steps given in the help document.

How to make the bookmarks bar JUST text and without the "Bookmarks" drop down and make the other bar have text with pictures? How to download a previous version of firefox?

The option is to set text, text and pictures, or pictures but it affects both bars and how to get the old version back because I just wanted a stupid addon that I didn't even need and now is firefox just stuck this way. I know it's better to have the new version for security or whatever but the new features are bad for me personally I can't use this program how can I get the old version again please help. So if the bookmarks toolbar is fixed up you don't need to go back to Firefox 4. That's easy.

The Home button would show as text ("Home") with the style change, as for Refresh ("F5") and Stop("Esc") the keyboard shortcuts work better for me anyway and have never included them on my toolbars. I keep the Home button to the left of the Location bar anyway so it shows an icon.

When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).

I have a problem. I bought a new Iphone and wanted to give my old one to my mother.
With the help of Icloud I'd installed my new Iphone with all the data and apps of my old Iphone and after that I'd removed by hand my agenda and contacts from my old Iphone. Today, after switching on my old Iphone and after that also my new Iphone, I noticed that with Icloud all the contacts and calendar items of my new Iphone had been replaced by the items of my old Iphone, which means that I've lost them.
Installing my new Iphone with an old copy of Icloud did not help. Still my empty calendar and contacts are in my Iphone.
Does anybody knows how to put an old version of my calendar and contacts back on my Iphone?? Please help!!

Yes, what is happening is that your calendars are being restored and then over written by the latest version from iCloud. You might try the following:
    1.    Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
    2.    Start the restore from iCloud back up.
    3.    Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
    4.    As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
    5.    Wait for the time out confirmation.
    6.    Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
    7.    Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
    8.    Delete the iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
    9.    Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
You need to follow a similar path for calendars and anything else from iCloud you wish to restore.

Not sure what you mean by iLife is in your Applications folder. When installed you should have the various iLife applications, iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, etc., in the Applications folder. When you install the next version it replaces those applications with the new versions. There should be no iLife folder in the Applications folder. Did you create such a folder and put those applications in there? If so then the iLife 06 may have just installed it's applications in the Application folder where they should be and left that iLife folder that you created alone. If that's what you did, drag that iLife 05 folder to the Trash. But make sure you have the V6 applications in the Applications folder. They should not be placed in a subfolder. Doing that will not let the updaters find them and update.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can use the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to remove the previous trial downloads.
Note : Trial periods can't be extended. After a trial expires, you need a serial number to install the software as a licensed version. Or, you can install trial software on another computer.

PSE installation issues - How do you uninstall trial version???

I've read several posts about this already, but I can't seem to figure out how to uninstall the trial version of PSE for mac. (I am getting the critical errors/incompatible payloads error message. Shame on Adobe for not fixing this yet.)
I read not to dump it into the trash. But when I launch the program from untilities I don't see any option to unintall. One post said to "remove it" How do you do this? The delete key doesn't work. How on earth do you uninstall something? I can't even get into the trial version because it keeps asking for a serial number (and I've read entering it doesn't help. I'm so lost, and really didn't plan on spending my hard earned Friday night doing this.) Any help would be much much appreciated!

There is no uninstaller. The only two icons in the Adobe Installer folder were something called Exented Scripts Installer and the Photoshop Elements icon. I got tired of messing around with it after several hours and finally ran the cleanscript 3 program which worked; I was able to install the purchased version right away. It still really bothers me that I could not figure out how to uninstall though, I'm sure I will need to in the future.
I wonder if my computer is just missing this installer/uninstaller option?
