How to send a file through the portal

Hello,
I have a problem in sending the file. I have selected a file kris.ppt and from context menu, I have selected sent to option and I have sent a file. I got a copy of that to my lotus notes but in that I had a format as kris.ppt.html. I cannot open the file. I can open the file when the portal is running. But I want to open the file when the portal is closed. Can anyone tell me the solution.

I tried that option also by default I'm getting 2 options.
One is the kris.ppt.html and other is the kris.ppt. I cannot open the first one rather I could open the second. I can open the 1st one if the portal is opened. Can you suggest anything regarding that one.

I think you can setup the type of email in Shared office Settings in transaction S016.
There is an option called <Preset document classes>
You choose this pushbutton to branch to the maintenance screen for the document classes that are directly displayed to users in the Business Workplace for selection when they use the Create function. The name under which the documents are displayed can also be maintained.

How to send a file top the default printer?

Hello,
I have generated, using Java code, a certain HTML file and wrote it to a certain location on my local machine. I would like now to automatically send this file for the default printer for printing, this way the user won't have to manually open the file and select
file->print from the browser window and then print it.
How can I acomplish this?

how can you identify which file you r going to print and which file you r going to print.if you r going to print all the file from that particular location than you can do it through jsp, but i dont think it can be done automatically, the user has to select the particular location where you have stored the file in you hard disk and i will go for printing.

Thanks for your reply. No, we do not have PI. This BC will be used for point to point communication with client.
Scenario:
R/3 server to send XML files to BC. BC will load these files ( using pub.getfile service), this file is to be parsed using pub.loaddocument service and then sent to client in XML format wrapped with digital signature. As i am new to BC i am unable to parse this file and wrap it with the digital signaature to send it.
Kindly advise on how best can we perform this action.

i have a problem when I want to transfer a binary file through the socket. On the server side we write a program with C. On the client side with use java. The socket worked fine when we transfer some asci files. But failed when transfer the binary file. How to solve the problem? Can someone give me some advice? Thanks a lot.

i use streams to read the binary file. The problem is I don't know when the transfered stream finished. With text file I can recognize the end of the transfer by a special string, but how to deal with the end of a stream? should the server send an "EOF" or something else to the client to notify the end?

You should be able to just place them in your Books library in iTunes and check to ensure that your Book library is configured to sync to your iPod when you sync your iPod to iTunes.

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black,blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

How can I access the remote(requesting) clients IP address through the Portal API?
On our 4.5 - IIS system, we can acces it using the Request.ServerVariables("Remote_Addr") in the ASP pages.
We are deploying 5.0 on Java Portal and would like to be able to do this through the Portal's API so I can call it in one of our custom login Activity space or control etc.
I have looked documentation for the HTTPServletRequest object. It seems like we should be able to access it through one of the methods getRemoteAddr if we can get a handle to HTTPServletRequest object through the Plumtree's framework.
I think the XPRequest object encapsulates the HTTPServletRequest but I didn't see getRemoteAddr method listed in the Javadocs.
Is there a way to access the client's IP address through the Plumtree's framework?
I need to do this so we know the location of the user and in our business case we have fixed IP adresss which let us identify which location is user accessign the system from. We can't do this through preferences or profile because we have to use generic userid for the specifc group of users.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Yes I am contemplating the another threat . I still want to send two files because the two files have very distinct type of information . The first one is operational and the second one is about statistics . Of course that I can send both type of inforrmation in only one file . I just want to save time to the end user and let him select what infomation he wants to see .

What EXACT version of Photoshop CS4 are you running? You should be on Photoshop CS4 v 11.0.2.
Also run Apple's software update to see whether it offers you the latest Epson update:

MOST IMPORTANTLY: have Photoshop re-create its own Preferences:

Also, take a look at FTP Browser.vi, which is available at the Example Finder.
To edit a XML file, try to use VIs in XML palette. Maybe Write to XML.vi helps you.

Send many files through a socket without closing Buffered Streams?

Hi,
I have an application that sends/receives files through a socket. To do this, on the receiver side I have a BufferedInputStream from the socket, and a BufferedOutputStream to the file on disk.
On the sender side I have the same thing in reverse.
As you know I can't close any stream, ever.. because that closes the underlying socket (this seems stupid..?)
therefore, how can I tell the receiver that it has reached the end of a file?
Can you show me any examples that send/receive more than one file without closing any streams/sockets?

As you know I can't close any stream, ever.. because that closes the underlying socket (this seems stupid..?)Its not if you want to continuosly listen to the particular port.. like those of server, you need to use ServerSocket.
for sending multiple files the sender(Socket) can request the file to server (ServerSocket). read the contents(file name) and then return the file over same connection, then close the connection.
For next file you need to request again, put it in loop that will be better.
A quick Google gives me this.
