How to send an email to entire group

Hi,
I have the same question that Ram asked back on 11/15 ......
Is there a mechanism I can use within Beehive to send an email to the entire group ?
Thanks
Bill

Hi,   is there a way to email all group members in Beehive Online Group/Workspace; for example, to alert them that you have uploaded some documents and they should review/respond by a certain date?

Yes, the group has an email address by default. The group has an email address made up of the group name with "_" inserted instead of spaces with @beehiveonline.oracle.com as the domain.
An example would be the "Acme Industries" group will have an email address of "[email protected]" - sending email to the address will forward on the message to all the members of the group.

Looking for reference on how to send one email to entire group.

I think you're confused about some basic Java programming techniques.
There are two obvious ways to do this.
    1. Call the addRecipient method in a loop.
    2. Collect all the recipients in a List, convert it to an array, and call addRecipients.

  • Does anyone know how to send an email to a "Group" on a device that has been updated to iOS-6, without having to individually add each recipient?

Pre-update, you used to be able to send an email to one of your predefined "Groups" by merely typing the "Group" name into the address field.  Post-update, this no longer appears to work.  Post update, typing the "Group" name into the address field gets you absolutely nothing.  Now I seem to have to add each individual recipient into the address field, something I thought developing predefined "Groups" would save me from having to do each and every time.  Does anyone know of any viable solutions for this?

You have to add each one, 1 at a time using the + button.

Drag the entire group into the To: field of a new message. The group is in your Address Book. You've used a name for it, like My Group. You can simply start typing "My Group" in that To: field and it should appear in a context menu.

  • How do I send an email to a group address using my iPad

I use and IPad Air 2 with latest IOS and am trying to send and email to a group.  How do I do this?  I simply type in the group name when I'm sending the message from my iMac, however that doesn't work on my iPad.  I have the group set up on my iCloud account and have that account selected on my iPad, still when I type in the group name, nothing comes up.  Suggestions?

I Might have worked this out! Go into contacts, tap add. When the box comes up put the name of the group you want to create as the first and last names. In Add email box neR the first email address, then tap add email address again and add another email address, continue until you have entered all the email addresses for the group. When finished tap Done.
Open email and in the To, Cc or Bcc box key in the name of the group. All email addresses should then receive the email when you tap send.
this works for me on my iPad air 2.
THIS HAS WORKED FOR ME YESTERDAY AND TODAY!

  • How can I send an email to a group from my iPhone?

I want to send an email to a group in my contacts, but when I select the group, the individuals display for selection.  How can I send an email by addressing it to the group?

I recently upgraded my wife's computer to mountain lion so we could sync it with her iPhone, allowing her to send emails to the groups she manages whether she's at home or on the road.
Is it really the case that the iPhone is incapable of this?  The mac does it fine and the iPhone goes through the motions but then bails when you hit send, saying it isn't a valid address.
This really makes no sense.  Isn't this the whole point of iCloud?

how can I send an email to a group in my address book, but hide the individual names and email addresses?

You used to be able to do this through leaving unchecked the box in preferences "when sending to a group show all member addresses". However, that feature failed some time ago (two or three years?) and the only way to hide the addresses now is to put the group in the BCC field.

    Thank you for your message.
I can see how you do that when using the 'normal' emailing system from my mailing box, but not when working from the contact application (the 'book' on the bottom icon bar with the @ on it)....

Use BCC.   That's blind carbon copy.   And copy paste the address into the BCC field.  It really depends what e-mail program you use how to enable BCC.

Shootist007, I think Cdf15 wants each recipient to see his/her own email address.
Cdf15, you can't quite do what you asked with Mail alone, but you can come close with a slight variant of what Shootist007 recommended. Just put a dummy address (perhars the sender's) in the To field and all recipient addresses in the Bcc field. That way, no recipient sees either the other recipients' addresses or their own.

  • If I am sending an email to a group on iCloud, how do I make sure the addresses don't appear?

if I am sending an email to a group on iCloud, how do I make sure the addresses don't appear?

how do I make sure the addresses don't appear?
Put the addresses in the Bcc: field.   (This stands for blind carbon copy.)
If you put the addresses in the TO: or CC: fields they will be visible to all the recipients.
Some email clients allow you to create a Group and use the single Group address instead of each individual address.  However, you can't rely on this because some email systems break the Group into the component individual addresses during the send process.  It's safer all around to put the addresses in the bcc: field in the first place (including group addresses).

  • How do I send an email using a group?

I have groups set up in the address book, how do I get to them when I want to send an email to a group of individuals?

Sorry; I should walk away when I am frustrated before I send an email...
regardless of how I get the email started, either by selecting the group from the address book or starting the email and then dragging the group to the "To" field, the "To" field just stays blank and does not accept the group.  The same thing happens when I try typing the name of the group in the field, it starts to fill it in and then when I "Tab" out of the field it it remove the name and is blank.
What seems really odd to me is that I can actually add each person in the group to an email and it sends just fine.

  • How do you send an EMail to a group of contacts?

how do you send an EMail to a group of contacts?

Other than selecting each of the contacts individually, in the native Mail app, you can't. You'll need to explore third party mail apps from the app store for that.

  • How to send an email to group

I am finding it time consuming sending an email to a group. I can't seem to find a way to click the group title and have to add each member individually. Can anyone advise me please

The best work around is to create a new contact with the group name you want to use.
Next, select "add email" then manually add all the email addresses for your group in the single email address field.  Separate the email addresses by commas and do not leave any spaces.
For large lists the easiest way to do this is to use something like notepad to edit the text.  Then copy and paste the text to the email address field.  Do not try and add multiple email address fields for the contact as that will not work.
    Example:
    My Contact Group Name
[email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
I'm really disappointed that apple doesn't let users do really basic stuff like allowing email groups or printing to network printers. Air print is really lame and so is the native email and calendar apps.
I hope this helps others who are also frustrated with the many stupid little details left out by apple.

  • How to send html email made in dreamweaver

how to send html email made in dreamweaver

Make sure you upload all of the images used in your email to a server you control. Then, change your image paths to point to those uploaded images with absolute links.
You will get marked as spam if you attempt to send images as attachments to a large list of recipients and most email clients won't download images to begin with, so make sure your html email makes sense with broken pictures.
CSS support is spotty across email clients, if you use css, make sure it's inline, not embedded in the <head> or externally linked in the <head>. Some email clients strip out the <head> section entirely.
Basically, you need to design your html email as if you haven't moved out of the 90's yet, as far as web design is concerned, in order to get maximum cross client compatibility.
Then, when you're ready, I would suggest using a service like www.icontact.com or www.constantcontact.com if your subscriber list is anywhere over 100 or so recipients.
