How to send as Delegate or on behalf of someone else

We use to use an Exchange server and Entourage. This allowed us to use a delegate feature, which in essence allows an assistant to send a message on behalf of a manager using that managers email address.
We have migrated our mail to a new, non exchange server and are now using Apple's Mail to check email. However, we can't find a simple solution to allow sending an email as though it came from a manager. Best we can do is to set up the managers email on the assistants account, but then the assistant receives and can read all the managers email, which we want to avoid. We need a solution where she can simply send on behalf of the manager, but not read the managers email.

What are you using as your server? Without knowing that I can only address the client side stuff.
The easiest way I can think of to accomplish this is with two servers - one incoming, one outgoing, with two different passwords. If the assistant has the SMTP server password only, you can configure a separate IMAP mail account on the assistant's Mac for [email protected] Set the account to never download mail, so it won't even try. Point that account at the SMTP server for sending, and anything sent will show up in the sent mail IMAP folder for the manager, and will appear to any recipient as having come from the manager.
If you can't use two servers you can still set it up so that the assistant sends but does not download, but not so that the assistant CAN NOT download, unless you use unauthenticated SMTP, which in my opinion is a Bad Thing (TM).
There might be a delegate like function on the sever side, but I need to know what your mail host(s) are running.

Launch the Contacts application from your iPhone home screen.
Tap the name of the contact you want to share.
Tap the "Share Contact" button. A prompt opens.
Select "MMS." The iPhone's text messaging application loads with the contact card already inserted as the body of the message.
Tap the To field, then enter the number of the other iPhone.

Recently someone in India bought an iPhone 5 and now every time he downloads an app to it, I get the receipt for it in my inbox. I tried to log on to his Apple ID account to change the settings, but the recovery email address for the password reset is not set to my email address. I got on gmail ca 2004 and was able to get simply my first name @gmail, which seemed amazing at the time, but now that the whole Indian subcontinent is getting online in full force, with many people apparently not understanding that you can't just use any email address you want, and because my first name is a common name in Pakistan and India, people accidentally sign me up for mailing lists over there multiple times a day. I get resumes sent to me daily, responses for classified ads that I didn't post, and often the sites are set up such that I have to log on to unsubscribe, but I don't have the password so I can't...it's getting out of control! How is it possible that Apple allows this kind of mistake as well by not requiring email verification?

I made up the names edward and daniel, it's not actually anyone's email address, so no need for concern.
In practice, I'm sure you're right that I would have fewer problems with a longer, more complex email address. But in principal, the problem remains. I could sign up for the Apple ID

and someone else could sign up for the Apple ID
1234.NoOneWillEverUseThisAddress.5678+1@gmail
and apple would have no problem with it, even though for all intents and purposes it's the same email address. So the problem is not just the ambiguity of my, to use Dahveed's words, overly simplistic and unsophisticated, email address:
there is a fundamental flaw in the way Apple links email addresses to accounts that allows for this ambiguity. If they followed the same conventions that gmail did, there would be no possibility of this problem.

How do you forward a contact's details to someone else?

My previous Nokia used to allow me to select a contact & then I cld forward it (the full contact details) to someone else's phone no. (with the press of 1 button). The iPhone 3G doesn't seem to have this basic feature that I can see (all you seem to be able to do with contacts is either edit them or add them to favourites) - I had to SMS the necessary details to someone (after I'd typed them into the SMS msg) which is quite antediluvian. Clearly not, and for the most part Apple should be commended for this. Their ability to look forward, not backwards, allows them to produce uncluttered, easy to use products. But sometimes their insistence on simplicity comes at the cost of essential features - such as cut and paste or MMS (the whole purpose of cell phone cameras is to allow you to send photos to other cell phones, right?) Sometimes Apple's omission of certain key features is so glaring as to seem more like the result of a shortage of Apple programmers rather than the result of some minimalist design decision or forward thinking. I believe that the absence of certain essential "old" PDA features on the iPhone, such as the ability to easily forward contact information, is an example of this.

Log in to your iCloud account in the Find my iPhone app or at iCloud.com.
Bear in mind that your iPod does not have GPS so any location will only be very rough. It also needs to be connected to the Internet, so needs an open WiFi network it's already used.

How can I send all emails in archive folder to someone else?

I have a friend who wishes to see all the emails from a business account (info@) that we were both involved in and which I have been administering for a few years. I have therefore selected the info account, selected all messages and used archive and it has created 2 new subfolders called 2013 and 2014 under an archived folder. No problem with that at all so far.
The problem I have *NOW* is how do I now send these to my friend? I thought they would have been archived as a file which I could have attached to another email but no. I thought there would be an option to save these now as a file of some kind perhaps on my hard drive or within Thunderbird that I could have attached to an email but once again no, there doesn't seem to be that option anywhere.
SO my question is, how can I proceed from here. Yes I *COULD* select each message individually and forward them but that would be ridiculous. He is using SeaMonkey which as you probably all know uses Thunderbird for the email client so there's no problem with compatability.
Am I making sense to anyone? Please can you point me in the right direction/give me an answer and solution to this and then I can get on and sort this out and move onto something else. :)

Ok I've sussed it out on my own. In case anyone else is having the same problem, go to the archive folder you created (and can probably do it exactly the same from the inbox) select ALL messages (or just the ones you wish to forward) then either right click and select or select from the forward menu option at the top "Forward as attachments". Check the title/subject of your email and change as applicable as it seems to use the subject from the first email you select before choosing select all, and insert the email recipient you're forwarding the emails too. BINGO or Hey Presto or Abracadabra or whatever word you like for "Yessssssssssssss!" lol

You cannot send files from your iPod to another Bluetooth device, nor can you receive any files that way.
Bluetooth on the iPod is designed to send the audio from your iPod to Bluetooth headphones, and for limited contact between two iPods when playing certain games.
There are several different conventions for Bluetooth. The iPod uses one that has limited functions.

Sometimes I want to save web pages as archives for future reference. I thought printing as a PDF would be the most widely readable format, but items on the page are often lost and I end up with question marks.
I have just tried "Save As" to a web archive, and that works well in Safari (meaning that Safari can reopen it perfectly), but when I emailed the file to a PC user they couldn't open it. I assumed a web archive format would be readable by any web browser; obviously that's not the case.

A web-link won't work because the particular page I want to send requires a subscription. The story about this particular page I want to send: four of us are planning a 7-day hiking trip through some Tasmanian wilderness, and we don't go unless the weather forecast is fine.
