How to send CCMS alerts to HP Open View

Hi Everyone,
My ops center has asked that we send our configured CCMS alerts to Open View.  I have no idea how to do this.  Does/can CCMS generate a log file of the alerts which can be picked up by Open View?  Or, must we do this via an SNMP trap [or am I asking a redudant question!].
Any help on how to go about this would be most appreciated.  The pressure is on!
Thanks
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,,
In oder to send a SAP alert message from SAP CCMS to HP OpenView console you need to install the product from HP called SAP SPI agent on the SAP server where your CCMS is configured. SPI agent is just a list of tranport requested that you need to import into your SAP CCMS, you also need to create a special userid and assign a special SAP roles to this user (these SAP roles delivery by the SPI agent transport request). If you don't own a license for the SAP SPI agent from HP you then just have to used the SAP SNPM trap technology. Check out this HP URL Link for the SAP SPI agent http://h71028.www7.hp.com/ERC/downloads/4AA0-0281ENW.pdf

  • How to configure CCMS alert to monitor Authorization failures?

    Dear All,
How to configure CCMS alert to monitor Authorization failures?
    Thanks
    Ashok

    Hello,
in case you have not yet set up your monitoring infrastructure, the following link will provide you with the information needed:
    http://service.sap.com/monitoring
If everything is set up (Agents are installed and connected to your central monitoring system, ...) you can go to transaction RZ21, select Technical Infrastructure - Configure Central System - Assign Central Autoreactions to set up your alerts.
For the Update errors use the MTE CLass AbapErrorInUpdate. For the Lock please use the search Option.

    Hi,
I am not clear on your query,You mean to say maxium number of alerts in each node of ccms?
if yes, this can be done using each nodes,properties->general tab there you can maintain the maximum number of alerts. This restrict the maximum number of alerts generated for this node.
and for your 3rd question you can transport your monitor sets from one system to another system, please check

  • IBots - How to send an alert when NO records are returned

It seems straightforward enough to send an alert when a query produces results, but I want to do the opposite. For instance, I only want to get an email at 7am when an object has no data in it for the current day. I do not want to know every day that records are returned.
how would i set up such an iBot such that it fires every day, and only emails me when no records are returned form the query?

    1) Create a small report called "No Records" and create an unscheduled iBot for this report.
    2) You have your iBot created for the original report, yes? Okay. If you don't want any notification when records are produced for this iBot, then in the Destinations tab, make sure all the boxes are unchecked for "Specific Devices."
    3) Now in the Advanced tab, click on the "Add Action" button under the "Execute these actions when no records are returned by the conditional request" section.
    4) Click on "iBot."
    5) Navigate to the "No Records" ibot created in step one.
Now, when the original ibot fires and there are records, nothing will be sent because you unchecked all ways to get notification. But when there are no records, this event will fire the chained ibot you linked to in the Advanced tab. This iBot will have as an attachment, your report that says "No Records."

  • How to send WCS alert?

    Hi forum,
How do i configure the WCS to send alert to syslog server or send via emails?
    Thank you,
    paul

    Hi Paul,
    Here is some info to get you started;
    Alarm Email Notification
WCS includes a built-in email notification function that can notify network operators when critical alarms occur. Refer to the WCS Monitor > All Alarms > Email Notification page to view the current alarm notification settings.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a008059c9f5.html#wp1073486
Monitor All Alarms > Email Notification
Use Monitor/Alarms, then from Select a command drop-down list select Email Notification, then click GO to access this page.
This page allows you to view the alarm categories with Critical Alarm email notification enabled and disabled, the current From and To email addresses, and the current SMTP server. This page also allows you to enable and disable email notification for any or all of the Alarm Categories, and allows you to access an Alarm Category email notification setup page.
For every category except Coverage Holes, the alarm severity must be critical to trigger the email. Email notification is available only for Alarms, not for events.
    Email Notification Overview
    Parameter Description
Enabled Check box; Checked = Email Notification ON, Unchecked = OFF.
Alarm Category The category of Critical alarms that generate an email notification. Click any of the entries in this column to go to the Monitor Email Notification for `' page.
From Any valid Transmitting email address.
To Any valid Receiving email address.
SMTP Server The name or IP address of the SMTP server that transmits the email notifications.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00805c546a.html#wp1041196
Note: Non-critical alarms do not generate email notifications.
A WCS administrator currently has no control over which events generate alarms, when they time out, or what severity they are. On the controller, individual types of events can be enabled or disabled (such as management, SNMP, trap controls, etc.).
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00806b72fe.html
    Hope this helps!

  • How to send data to an already open excel sheet

I have a simple VI that opens a closed excel file, writes data to it and closes it.
I want to modify it to write data, unconcerned of whether the file is open or closed.
    how to do it..
I have attached the VI here..
    thanks..
    Attachments:
    Save to Excel.vi ‏11 KB

When you open a file you make a copy of the data on disc and put it in memory somewhere the application that opened it knows about.
In your case a spreadsheet open in Excel will have its file locked for its exclusive use.  This prevents the file from getting updates by more than one application which would most assuradly cause unintended consequences (the file would get corupted.)
In other words You only think you want to write data from LabVIEW to a file open for editing in Excel - You really don't want to do this

  • How to send relevant alerts to different groups?

I have an environment where different teams own different aspects of the UCS environment. For example, operations is responsible for the environment and physical hardware, architecture is responsible for the configuration (policies, pools, profiles), and the network team is responsible for both LAN and SAN down to the blade. I'm trying to find a means of setting up call home profiles such that each team can get their relevant alerts, but I don't see how that's really possible within UCSM.
Something that seems promising is alert groups, but I can't find any documentation on how/if they map to user roles or what alerts might fall into an alert group? The documentation meantions the alert groups, but without any description of what each alert group does or how they should be used. Some seem obvious (eg. Environmental) while others are vague (Syslog Port?). Any ideas?

    Brad,
I've requested our docs team improve the details regarding the CallHome alert groups.  I don't know the specifics of each alert group myself, but when I find out I'll update this thread.

You can't just simply create a new application module like that:
SimuladorAppImpl app = new SimuladorAppImpl();This will not work!
An other thing to mention is that you don't push Row objects from the view controller to the server side (this breaks the MVC paradigm).
If you have to create a new row, you can create a method in your application module and call this method either with a number of attributes or a POJO object holding the values.
Remember too that your new row normally have a primary key attribute which you have to fill with a distinct value for each row.
To get the application module from within a backing bean you can look at ADFUtils.getApplicationModuleForDataControl("YourAppModuleDataControl");Search the FOD application for the ADFUtils class or this forum.
