How to send contacts via SMS from Iphone 3g

Hi, anybody knows how to send or forward contacts via sms??

It still does not work with 3.0
You can send your contacts via mms. At least in Europe.
This is not exactly a nice solution.
I tried this, and the person receiving the mms needed to login to a website via browser to get the mms. The Website was done so bad, that it only allowed you to enter while using Internet Explorer.
I was not able to get the mms with any brwoser that works on a Mac.
Not really a nice solution
Even my first cellphone from over ten years ago was able to perform this task with two clicks.
Sorry for the grawling.. but having the best phone ever, I was wondering if this
will be part of an upgrade soon.

I am also facing big problem due to this issue. I need to send contacts to many people now and then and most of the plp use basic set. So tehy are not able to open mms. Also due to mms my monthly rental charge is getting heavy !! I saw sharing contacts via sms is available in lower end ASHA handsets. This basic feature should be abailable. any workaround

Regarding your concern, the only way that you can send a contact number on the phone is thru sharing it from the contacts icon. This will automatically change the messaging template to a Multimedia Message.

iCloud is useful for a lot of things and backing up your iPhone's data is one of them. Included in the data and files that you can safely keep using iCloud are your contacts. The following instructions detail how to transfer contacts from iPhone to computer.
Step 1. On your iPhone, tap on Settings. On the "Settings" menu, select "iCloud". You will then be taken to the iCloud Settings.
Step 2. Enable the "Contacts" setting and should you be informed that you'll have to merge your contacts to iCloud, tap "Merge".
Step 3. Now on your computer, go to iCloud.com and login with your iCloud credentials.
Step 4. Once you're logged in, click on the Contacts icon to access your address book and all iCloud features for the contacts you've uploaded.
Step 5. In the address book, click on the cog icon at the lower-left portion, click "Select All", and "Export vCard" afterwards.
Step 6. iCloud will then give you a vCard that you can store on your computer. It contains all the contacts you've uploaded to iCloud using your iPhone.

Which jsms? Google finds several.
Try the website where you downloaded it.

The best place to ask your question is at the JSMS website, forum or mailing list since this is no error that directly comes from a class belonging to the core Java classes.

Sending contacts via SMS

Hi!
I would like to get your expert advice on the issue we are experiencing with our Z10 and Q10 units and this is about sending of contacts/business cards.
We are not sure if it is a network-related thing. Tested on two different carriers as well with the same result.
The issue is that while BB Q10/Z10 have the facility to share a contact via SMS, it seems to be not working.
We do it by holding a particular contact that we wish to share, then click share icon.
From the options, we choose 'Text Messaging, fill in the 'To' field, enter a message and then press the send button.
While the .vcf is seen to be attached, nothing happens and a red clock icon just appears.
Recipient does not receive the business card.
Is this a known issue on BB10 devices?

Hi manalotomarvin,
When sending a VCard via SMS, the BlackBerry smartphone switches into MMS mode. If MMS service is not enabled for the device, you will not be able to send the VCard.
I would recommend testing the MMS service by sending a photo to another contact via SMS, to see if that will send. If this fails, I would suggest contacting the wireless network provider, to verify MMS service is enabled.

You sync the old iPhone, plug in the new iPhone, and then you will be asked if you want to sync the new one with the old one.
I also wanted to keep all my SMSs, and it worked - they were transferred to my new iPhone.

You cannot text a picture on the iPhone
However you can email one to a MMS compatible phone if you know the service provider for the specific phone number . If you know it then you email the picture to one of this addresses(just match the service provider)

If the music was purchased from iTunes then you should be able to copy them over to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer). For photos taken with the phone then on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard, and on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto or Aperture : copying photos. To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

i have an application which determinetes the position of the iPhone and now i want to send this postion via mail or via sms to a specific adress/phone-nr.
now the problem is that this should be done in background, thats why i can not use "mailto:...", because it opens the mail program (if I'm not mistaken), also I have no chance to create a web service somewhere else... I have only the iPhone.
Concerning sms sending, I know that there are jailbreak solutions, but I need an Apple solution.

Your only solution is to create an SMTP outgoing mail section of your application. Unfortunately you have no access to the account information in the Email program, so you need the user to re-enter that in your application.
Creating an entire email application, with multiple accounts, mail composing, reading, folders, etc. is clearly a major job (and there's already a perfectly fine program on the iPhone that does that anyway). Creating just an outgoing email program that sends email to a single account isn't nearly as major a task.

I just left my company on Friday and I want to know how I can move my contacts from my iPhone to my home Outlook. Originally the contacts where on my work outlook and being pushed through Exchange. There doesn't seem a way to change this in the iTunes application. There is no options under info/Contacts. Any help would be appreciated.

You can Export your contacts from your work Outlook and save the file as a .PST file. You can then copy this file to a USB drive, and then Import the Contacts to your Outlook account at home. Then set the sync options in iTunes to sync with your local copy of Outlook contacts, which will put the Contacts back on the iPhone (you will have to delete your work's Exchange account settings on the iPhone: Settings > General > Profile > Remove)

Not possible as the iphone does not support the bluetooth protocols to do that It does support HFP (hands free) and PBA (phone book access), which allows another hands free device which supports PBA to look at and use the iPhones contacts while the devices are paired. But the iphone's contacts cannot be transferred to another device by bluetooth (iPhone has never been able to do that).

Thank you for the replies. I have tried creating another stream to send the media file. Although it's workable, the other side is unable to handle 2 incoming stream. The receving end does not hear a combined audio. Sometimes i hear the media file's audio, sometimes i hear the other.
Is it possible to merged the media file's audio into the existing rtp stream on the fly? Or piped the media file's audio to the capture datasource?

Up to now I have been using Bluetooth mostly for my mouse; today, however, I decided to use it to transfer some files, and I couldn't do it.
