How to send input to Apple software dev...

How does one contact Apple's software gurus in order to provide input for future developments with software such as Garageband and Logic? (I'm thinking of the stupid Windoze 7 TV adverts). I've really enjoyed using Garageband (Logic) since it's first version, but there's one thing that continues to plague me when arranging a song ....there ain't no way TO arrange a song. It's all done in a linear way with no obvious way to create individual segments (verse, chorus, bridge, etc) and then arrange, or rearrange them into a song with each "part" having selectable repeats, transpositions, muting, and all things I've really enjoyed when using keyboard based workstations such as Yamaha Motif, Korg Triton and the late great Ensoniq workstations. Thanks for your reply - The Arrange function is just not as fluid as being able to select a section to repeat several times, then move to the next, etc, etc. After this is all arranged then have another full set of tracks to overdub on top of your song arrangement. Anyone that has work with Ensoniq's workstations will know exactly what I'm trying to describe. If I had any personal contact with the designers of Garageband (and Logic) I would offer to locate an Ensoniq SD-1 or similar model to help Apple to develop a better music product. If Ensoniq could fit their sequencer application on a floppy disk, I'm sure that creating a similar type sequencer for Mac would be pretty straight forward.

First of all, please, excuse my english......i know it's the worst possible and will try to develop it.

The hard disk of my xServe is almost full and I need to delete the old Apple Software Udates that it contains (some of them are from 2005!!)
And I don´t know how to make it!!
I`ve uncheck the "automatically enable copied updates" option in Server Admin and I´ve check-in the "Purge unused/legacy software", but i don´t know how to delete the oldest Apple Software Updates because I don´t know where the **** are they!!

u define the parameters to send to a module in 'module configuration' (in module tab) by giving the key to identify the module for which u r giving giving the parameters.

Assuming you're using Cocoa, the simplest solution is to call -[NSWorkspace openFile:withApplication:]. Example:

How do I get Windows "Apple Software Update" tool point to my local server?

I have a Mac OS X Server, with Apple Software Update server running.
I also have Windows machines, with Safari, iTunes, and Apple Software Update, of course.
I would like the Windows version of Apple Software Update to point to my local ASU server. There isn't a preference for that, but there should be a registry entry, I would think.
Is this possible, if so how?

I can't accept this. According to Apple (http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/L355781BSoftwrUdtTB.pdf),
"Mac OS X Server also supports hosting Apple updates for software running in Boot Camp, such as iTunes and QuickTime for Windows."
I have already figured out that you can set a registry value that will make Apple Software Update for Windows talk to a different server to find updates, I just don't know how to get Software Update Server to cache the updates for Windows software.

How to opt out of Apple Software Update's Safari installation

I do not have Safari installed on my computer, and I have no interest in installing it or switching to it. However, the Apple Software Updater displays Safari as a selected option every time it runs. I can unselect the option to install Safari, but I don't see any way to remove Safari from the list entirely so that Software Update doesn't keep pestering me about installing Safari every few days. Surely there must be some way to opt out of installing Safari short of uninstalling Software Update and never using it again?

That answer really does not deserve a "solved" star, as we get nagged again for every update of Safari. The ignore "trick" is IMHO merely an inadequate workaround for a nuisance that should not exist.
ASU should UPDATE not shove software I or rather, my userbase does not have installed, down our throats.
Apple should at least have the decency to NOT have Safari Pre-checked in ASU. Yes, M$ has new software in Wondows Update as well (e.g. Silverlight), but at least it's an opt-in update, while Apple force-feeds us Safari which I find beyond annoying.
If M$ would do the same with the next version if IE on Macs, Mac users would scream so loud you would be able to hear it on the ISS.

Apps crashing, can't send problem to apple, software update app crashes....

I came back after a two month summer vacation (I unplugged the computer while I was away) and I went to update the software and then the software update app crashed. I tried to report the problem to apple, but it says that the submission failed, "your report could not be sent to apple, please try again later"
I then tried to sync my iPhone, and iTunes crashed, so I tried to report the problem, and I got the same error. So I un-installed iTunes, but when I emptied the trash it said that "iTunesHelper" was in-use, so I couldn't. But then I tried to restore iTunes by taking it out of the trash, and when I tried to open it, it said that it wasn't supported on that architecture.
I restarted the computer, but the problems won't go away. Firefox works fine...'

Try repairing the disk permissions. At best do an Archive and Install. This will install a new Mac OS X, archive the old system, which you will later drag & drop to the Trash and flush away, and preserve your data and user accounts and settings. You can do this with your Restore DVD. Read all onscreen instructions and check the correct boxes to preserve your data and settings.
At worst, backup all your data and Erase and Install. Write zeros to the HDD and any bad sectors that exist will be locked out on the drive and no longer used. This is also done from the Restore DVD. After installing Mac OS X import your backed up data and begin anew.

Parallel Approvals -- How to send Input to Data preparation process

Hello,
I have created a parallel process with using gateways to send a form through 8 concurrent approvals; the problem is that the form only gets updated with the formdata of the quickest completed route; so ultimately data is lost from some branches when the gateway closes. (Rather than acting more so like a database where fields are locked while in use and updated with no data lost).
So I have looked into having each approval task (8 in total) use a custom action profile with a custom 'Data preparation process' which will run when a user opens the task and on the fly it will then load the latest form data (to minimize the risk of data loss; still not perfect though). But in order to do this I need to be able to pass the form data into the 'Data Preparation Process'; how can I do this?
So to summarize, 1) how do I pass variables (such as formdata) into the data preparation process; and 2) is there a better approach for parallel approvals?

I have downloaded software for my golfbuddy, but first I downloaded it for the wrong device. How do i uninstall it?

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

How do I allow non-Apple software to install in OS 10.8.4?

I've just installed Mountain Lion on an iMac (27", mid-2011) and want to install some some software I've downloaded from a reputable third-party developer. Problem is, I get an error message that tells my security preferences only allow apps from the App Store or identified developers. Any suggestions for a workaround?
