How to send mails in HTML format from the send mail step of workflow?

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to send mails in the html format from the send mail step of the workflows.
But what I found out that the html tags are not renderd and as such the output is in plain text.
I know that there is an alternative of using an activity step and use my own custom code from within there,But due to certain business constraints, I need to use the send mail step only.
My SCOT settings are all right.
Please let me know how it can be done.
Thanks,
Samrat.

Samrat,
It can't be done, you have to use your own activity step.
What are these constraints that refrain you from doing that?
Rgds,
Patrick

  • How to send a mail in html format from a send mail workflow node ?

    Dear all,
    Do you know if it is possible to send an e-mail in HTML format (instead of RAW) from a "send mail" node in a workflow ?  ... if "yes", please, let me know.
    (I need to do that because I want to use the "href" tag to insert an hyperlink inside the e-mail)
    - I haven't found any parameter to specify the format of the e-mail.
    - Inside SCOT I tried to change the parameters for the SMTP node... without success.
    - I don't want to use a task calling the FM SO_OBJECT_SEND.
    Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas!
    Have you tried to set "Output Format" for "RAW Text" to HTM in SCOT.
    If HTM is missing in your dropdown-list, you could check out table SXCONVERT2. Copy the line with category T/format TXT, and change the format from TXT to HTM. The existing function
    SX_OBJECT_CONVERT__T.TXT does not need to be changed. Now you should be able to choose HTM in SCOT. You will probably need som HTML-tags in your text to make it look good.
    Hope this helps!

  • Send message in HTML format from Service Desk

    Dear All,
    I have configure Service Desk in Solution Manager 7 EHP1 (ABAP+JAVA Stack).
    I am able to send the message to end user in case of change status from "New" to "In process" in PDF or TEXT format.
    I want to send same in HTML with link just like SAP Support message we are getting in our inbox.
    How to do that?

  • How do I activate an HTML file from the tools menu?

    I understand how to add a custom entry to the TestStand 4.0 Sequence editor using the TOOLS->CUSTOMIZE... menu selection, but I want to:
    1) Activate an HTML page when the TOOLS menu option is selected
    and
    2) Provide the directory of the current sequence file to the HTML
    and
    3) Disable this new menu selection if the current sequence file has not been saved.

    Thanks for the clarification of your suggestion.  I have created a sequence with a single step: "Call Executable".  In the Executable Pathname field I have specified iexplorer.exe.  When I specify a specific HTML page in the Argument Expression field (i.e., "D:\Test.html") the sequence runs fine and properly activates IE showing the specified HTML file.  If I just specify a directory in the Argument Expression field (i.e., "D:\Foo\Bar") the sequence runs fine and properly activates IE showing the specified directory.
    However, when I put RunState.InitialSelection.SelectedFile.Path into the Argument Expression field, it doesn't show the directory.  Do I have to do something special in order to get RunState.InitialSelection.SelectedFile.Path properly interpreted when the sequence is executed?

  • Why has Mail stopped downloading messages from the web-mail server

    I have several e-mail accounts that have all worked well until recently when one (tesco.net) has stopped downloading messages. I can send mail from the account ok and can see the unopened mail on the web server. I have not changed the settings and the Doctor comes up with all buttons green confirming internet connection to server. I phoned Tesco support but they say they cannot see a problem. Any advice anyone?

    This is the total readout from Connection Doctor, I'm only concerned with the Tesco.net account.

  • How to send mail in  HTML  format using SMTP

    I want to send mail in HTML format using SMTP.Can anybody please suggest how to do it.Can anybody send me the code.
    Thnx.

    If you don't know how to send a message using JavaMail see here : http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/JavaMail/contents.html#JavaMailSending
    To send a html format mail you need to set the content type like this (msg is a javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage) :
    String subject = "An Email 4 U";
    String message = "<HTML><BODY>Here is a link<br><a href='http://javasoft.com'>Java</a></BODY></HTML>";
    msg.setSubject(subject);
    msg.setContent(message, "text/html");p.s This isn't really an advanced topic

  • How to maintain format in html email using the send email....

    Does anyone know how to maintain the format in a HTML email using the Send E-mail To Recipients From Recordset behavior?
    When text only is selected instead of HTML text on the Options tab the format of the input is maintained, but when HTML text is selected the email has no format. I have tried to use a replace \n with
    as I have done when hand coding PHP, BUT I am trying to learn to use ADDT. I also tried to use a Custom trigger without success.
    Help!

    Hi Dave,
    in my snippets folder I have this thing which I found on the old MX Kollection forums and which was suggested by the Interakt staff:
    //trigger SendEmail (write content)
    function Trigger_SendEmail(&$tNG) {
    ob_start();
    include("myDynamicContentFile.php");
    $mailcontent = ob_get_contents();
    ob_end_clean();
    $emailObj = new tNG_Email($tNG);
    $emailObj->setTo("[email protected]");
    $emailObj->setFrom("[email protected]");
    $emailObj->setSubject("A new User was added");
    $emailObj->setContent($mailcontent);
    $emailObj->setEncoding("UTF-8");
    $emailObj->setFormat("text");
    $emailObj->setImportance("Low");
    return $emailObj->Execute();
    //trigger SendEmail (write content)
    The only modification is the possibility to include a dynamic PHP file rather than some static text or a HTML file which will also render textarea contents on one line:
    ob_start();
    include("myDynamicContentFile.php");
    $mailcontent = ob_get_contents();
    ob_end_clean();
    That said, it should be possible to define all the "rendering" options in the external PHP file, what would mean to apply the nl2br function there, e.g.: nl2br($row_queryname['columnname'])
    What I´m not sue about is, if you will have to strip the external file´s head and body tags before it´s getting included -- however, please give this a try and tell us how it worked.

    Hello All,
    I have to send e-mail to a customer but the e-mail should be sent out in an HTML Format which would look good..
    I know the FM to send the e-mail but how to build the body in the HTML format because i have a big bunch of text.
    Is there any way to create a HTML template in SMW0 and read the same using any function modules to build the body like given below...
    Eg:
    Dear Customer
    Multiples lines of text....
    Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

    Try this way
      submit yXXXXX0001 exporting list to memory " Write a report for HTML body and properly format
                                                                       " and submit the report to list to memory
               with p_docno = xdocno
               and return.
      call function 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY'
        tables
          listobject = report_list
        exceptions
          not_found  = 1

          html          = report_html

    How do I mix text and Html format in a java mail? some part I want to keep the text format, the other part I want to use Html functions(like fond, color, etc)

    You don't mix them. Pick one or the other.
    However if you want to have a text version and an HTML version, so that mail readers that don't handle HTML can see regular text instead, then you could produce a "multipart/alternative" message. There's an explanation of how to do that in this article:
