How to sent emails in Mail 5 threads as default

Hi everybody,
I really like new Apple 5, the feature I mostly like is the threaded display of emails. Often I need to see what I answered, but each time I have to "show related messages" to do that.
Is it possibile to lock this feature on?

Mail>Preference>View> show related messages

  • Missing sent emails in mail 6.3

Using Mail 6.3 and a gmail.imap account. My sent emails are missing from my macbook pro but can view them at mail.google.com and on my iphone and ipad. How do I set up my mail account to display the missing sent emails?

    Hi APK25,
If your Sent messages aren't showing up where you expect them to, you may want to take a look at the following article:

  • How to transfer emails from Mail onto iphone?

just got my iphone and having fun using it so far.
i am trying to get work out how Mail works on the iphone in terms of how it syncs with Mail on my imac.
i really want to load some old emails from Mail (on my imac) onto the iphone. i tried dragging them from Mail onto the iphone icon in itunes but it won't let me do that.
for example i deleted some emails on the iphone by mistake, yet they are still in my inbox on the imac and wish to transfer them back onto the iphone so i can read thme on the move.
is there a way to do so?

Email account mailboxes and messages are not included in the iTunes sync process and you cannot drag or transfer email from your computer to your iPhone or vice-versa.
The iPhone's Mail app is no different in this regard from using an email client on your computer.
If you want email account mailboxes and messages to be kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account, you need an IMAP account, not a POP account. Either way there is no option to drag or transfer email from your computer to your iPhone or vice-versa just as it isn't possible to do the same between two email clients on your computer.

  • How to sent email to current site title + owner group in SPD

Sent email to site owner group(dynamic get site title + owner) for reusable content type workflow

    Hello,
I don't think you can achieve this with single designer workflow. You need to create WF for each site to send email to site owner because WF does not has capability to find site owner name in dynamic way.
You have to publish your workflow for each site and also need to send set the owner group manually for notification.

  • How to import email in Mail from Time Machine to Lion

My laptop, which had Leopard OS, was stolen. Fortunately, I have a Time Machine backup. I used that to install on my new laptop which has Lion (10.7.4). In Mail, my folders show up, but not the email in them. How do I get the email from Time Machine? (Current email is working. That is, email since I got the new laptop.)

Don't try to restore the file; restore the Note. Go in Mail to the mailbox where the note belongs. Enter Time Machine from there and step back until you find the Note.

  • How to sent emails?

    Hi,
I want to send emails from Java.
    1. Is there any class or
    2. I have to run OS command say mail [email protected] < foo.txt?
if 2 how can I start OS commands?
    Thanks,
    Ed

If you just want to throw the command to the OS you can just use the Runtime.exec(String) method to do so. But if you want to send mail thru java you would probably be better off looking into the JavaMail API on this site, its a better way to do it then to send an OS command.

  • Help, how to export emails from mail app

hi guys: I did not uncheck the box remove emails from the server after ..... so my hotmail on the server are gone. i want to have email copys stores on the server, since i need to check hotmails from any computer, not just on my home computer where the emails backup copys are stored. so i want to export my emails from the mail app in the mac back to hotmail server, how can i do that?? please give me a hand, i will really appreciate

You can do it via Mailbox>Archive Mailbox. And also, based on what you're saying you have Hotmail set up as an POP account in Mail. Don't know if Hotmail offers it, but if you set up the Hotmail account as IMAP in Mail then the behaviour will be different. You will have two copies of the emails on both the server as well as the computer. Go to Hotmail's help section and type in keyboards like "IMAP" and "Apple Mail."

  • Can't sent email with Mail.app

When attempting to send outgoing mail from Mail I get this warning.
"The attempt to read data from the server “mailhub.une.edu.au” failed.
You can try to send using a different server. All messages will use this server until you quit or change your network settings."
I've tryed to solve this by deleting all the server and email info, and re entering it. I had thought that that may fix the situation (I had also at various time switched authentication on and off and changed the port from 25 to 587) But I still am getting a failure message as shown above. I have also put the outgoing mail as the networs SMTP serve.
Can someone help me. It s a pain to have to go to the .mac site and log in each time I want to send my emails.

No, we cannot eliminate all those things, not by a long shot!
A very important question I asked was: In Mail, is your Username appended to the name of the SMTP, or not? Please answer. You should also ask your ISP if the form of Authentication for their SMTP will result in the name of the SMTP being appended with your Username. Have you found any support pages that show this for any other mail client, on any other computer platform?
It does not matter what you do with regard to any other SMTP server, until you determine how to make the one with the ISP work with Mail, or with Th'bird, because any third party SMTP must relay to that of the ISP, and if it does work the one for your Webhost will also not work!

  • How to restore Emails to Mail from Time Machine?

Does anyone know how I restore my Mail contents?
I have restored my User to a Mac mini from Time Machine.
But my Mail contents were not restored.
I have not been able to find any intructions to restore my Mail contents.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

    Hi,
If you have Full Access permissions on your delegate mailbox, we
can configure your mail profile with that mailbox instead and add your own as a delegate mailbox.
In addition, we can use Macro code to set the From address programmatically which
works for any address that you have Send As or Send on Behalf Of permissions for.
For more information, please refer to the article below:

  • Mail Receipt of sent email

How can I get a receipt of sent emails in Mail and Leopard?

If you had used [email protected] you would certainly not get a response!
Not all email applications pay attention to the receipt request; those that do generally allow the user to decide whether or not to acknowledge receipt. To test whether it is working, open one of your sent messages and view the full headers and see if the disposition notification header is there with your correct email address.

  • Sent emails not synchronizing over iCloud

I have lost I don't know how many sent emails suddenly two weeks ago. It appears that messages sent from my iPhone or iPad don't always appear in my sent mailbox in Mail on my mac.
I have tried rebuilding the sent mailbox, but it doesn't change a thing. It goes pretty fast and doesn't seem to interrogate iCloud at all. I do have a some sent mail that I don't have on my mac anymore on iCloud.
Please share any hint at a solution.
    Thanks,
    Z

Sorry, yes, I'm using iCloud mail.
Sync between devices works except for sent mail on my mac.
A message sent from my iPhone will go in its "sent" mailbox and also appear in the "sent" mailbox of my iPad, but not in the "sent" mailbox of my iMac and not in the "sent" mailbox of iCloud Mail on the web either.
A message sent from my iMac will go in its "sent" mailbox but won't show up in any of the "sent" mailboxes of my iPhone, iPad, or in iCloud on the web.
So, this means that I have all inboxes synchronized, but not the "sent" mailboxes.

  • Cannot send email in mail app. using POP account with Wi-Fi

I recently moved to an apartment that only has wireless internet access. Since moving I cannot send email using my POP account, although I can receive email. I was also not able to receive email using my .mac account, but I learned through this forum to change server port to 587 in .mac account and now I can send via .mac account in mail app. But I still cannot sent email with mail app. using my POP account. I changed no settings when I moved, and have never had this problem with cable. Any suggestions?

It all depends on the policy of whoever is the ISP at your new location and the method used by the outgoing (SMTP) server to determine whether you’re a legitimate user.
In an attempt to fight spam, many ISPs restrict the ability to send using an outgoing (SMTP) server not owned by them, usually by blocking port 25 for all traffic outside their own network, which means you cannot send with an SMTP server not owned by them if configured to use that port number. And it may happen the other way around as well, i.e. the outgoing server itself may look at the IP address you’re connecting from and refuse the connection if you’re outside its own network.
Something that often works is changing the outgoing server port to 587 (or whatever alternate port number the outgoing server listens to) instead of 25 and using some form of authentication in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings, but two conditions must be satisfied for this change to work: (1) the ISP must not block that port as well AND (2) the outgoing server in question must listen to that port and accept a form of authentication not based on the IP address you’re connecting from.
Independent mail service providers not tied to a particular ISP, such as .Mac and Gmail, do allow authenticated SMTP access on port 587, which is the reason changing the outgoing server port number solves the problem for them if the ISP doesn’t block that port as well.
The following article, for example, describes several ways to address this issue in the case of .Mac, but can be useful for other mail accounts as well (not just .Mac), and applies to all versions of Mac OS X (not just Mac OS X 10.4.2 and earlier as the article states):
.Mac: Server timeout alert message when sending email
