How to seperate (unlock) frames/pages?

Hello. I have a dokument of 80 pages of text. Now my problem is that when i edit in one page/frame the other pages/frames relativise to the changes (for eksample move up or down). Now i want them to stop adjusting to eachother synchronically so that I can edit one page/frame with the next changing aswell.
To kind of unlock the pages from eachother, non-synkronize them. How do I do that?

It sounds to me like your text is a single "story" running through a series of "threaded" frames. This is normal when working with long passages of text since normally you want text following an edit to either flow back to fill a deletion or push down to make room for additions. In susch cases empty space or "overset" text ends up at the end of the thread in the last frame of the story.
There is a sample script included with InDesign called SplitStory that will break the links between the threaded frames, making each one a separate story. If a paragraph happens to cross the boundary betwen two frames it will be split into two parts, and the second half will be treated as a new paragraph. If the style calls for a first line indent, that will be applied to the first line in the unlinked frame.

Thanks for answering me! You might not be reading my question correctly because I think I am confused. So now I have a couple questions. I have never used the the Document Inspector to lock a file so that is not the issue. It has not asked for a password either.
When you said a document will be locked after a period of time I have experienced that but usually it drops a box down asking if you want to unlock it. When you said, "as determined by my System Preferences" I dont' see anything in system preferences about documents.....what am I missing here?? I am using Lion 10.7.4. So I would like to know the answer to that. I am wondering if you meant it can be set to lock or not lock???
That said.....in the meantime I had done a duplicate and then made it a template just to see if I could accomplish what I was trying to do and that didn't work either. SOooooooo let me ask you this.....what I did was take a bunch of clip art off the internet and put it all on one document page in Pages. I named it "tropical clip art." When I open that document I can not drag and drop any of the clip art anywhere. Not to my desktop, not to another document etc. That is what made me think it was locked. The document name is at the top and it has "edit" greyed out next to the name. What the heck am I doing wrong? I am fairly new to Pages altho been an Apple user for awhile. I have always fuddled my way through using Pages. If I can not put the clip art on a document to save it all in one place, what is my other option? I was trying to avoid going back onto the internet repeatedly to get clip art I want to use over and over. It is free clip art. If I go to the internet I can drag and drop it anywhere.
When I try to drag and drop it off the Pages document it disappears and I have to go to "undo typing" under edit to get it back. Am I making any sense??
And this is my very first time on these forums too so that took me a bit to figure out.

How to seperate PC SCREEN pages from MOBILE pages?

I read in a Microsoft MSDN article recently where it is a good idea to have the main landing page as index.html and detect if the browser is using a mobile and instead load a different version just for mobiles.
I was wondering how I would implement such an idea since a mobile would have to load up the large version before detecting the compact version. Pointless!
Maybe I should have the index.htm as the mobile version and have it detect the screen size and load the index_screen.htm instead if appropriate (mobile first).
Having problems with the responsive layouts anyway (previous article experiencing problems with templates in responsive) so seeking alternatives here.
I want different content on mobile pages anyhow so maybe this would be the way for me.
Ideas and feedback welcomed and greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with that approach at all. Do you realize how long the list of user agents is right now? And how often that list needs to be updated to check against every possible mobile device on the market? Now even if you manage to get passed the user agent hurdle, why do you want to maintain two separate web sites? It's twice the work!
In a perfect world, your content is stored inside a MySql database. If the device width is XXX, the Reader's Digest Condensed version is displayed. If the device width is more than XXX, the full version is displayed.

I need to edit a page in dreamweaver that has been locked
because the client uses contribute to edit that page. How do I

Select the file in Contribute and Publish it. Or maybe just
ask them if
they have made any edits to that page. If they have not, tell
them to
cancel their checkout in Contribute.

The correct term in Pages is Text Boxes, and true linking is not implemented in v5.2. You can Unite, Intersect, Subtract, and Exclude multiple Text Boxes via the Arrange panel. These attributes only appear when two or more Text Boxes are selected. Also, on the Arrange menu, you will need Object Placement set to Move with Text, and the Text Wrap set to None for more accurate positioning.
In the following example, there was initially a Text Box with overflowing text that was duplicated. With both Text Boxes selected and aligned, I could then use the Unite feature from the Arrange panel. This allowed the text to flow into the second box. Selecting text in one box and dragging upwards continues the text selection between both boxes. Hoefler italic applied in one box is applied to both. Appropriately placed, another trip to the Arrange panel to enable Text Wrap around and text fit adjustments.

How to use single frame in a page

Hello, i would like to now how to make a frame in a page
without having two or more, i was used to work with GoLive and
there i could use the grid an put a single frame and make links to
other pages that would open in that frame, it worked wel for me,
but since I switched from golive to dreamweaver CS3 i am not able
to do so. Is there some one how could tel me how to do so, since i
use a lot of single frames in my pages,

why are you wanting to use single frames?
They allow having the initial frame address stay in the
address bar, and not
show the linked page's address. The problems they cause
usually override any
value.
Or- if we aren't using the same words the same way, please
give an example
site of what you want to do.

How to add a frame dynamically in a jsp page.

Hai all,
In my application, in a particular jsp page i had the 3 links namely add.edit and delete. When click on add button, it is pointing to another jsp page where i can enter user details. But what i want now is when i click add button, the form in which we fill the user details should be added to the current page itself dynamically i.e., it should not go to another page when i click add button and that form should be displayed in the current page in a new frame dynamically.
The same should happen when i click n edit or delete options. everything should be diaplayed in the same page in different frames.
Can anyone suggest me about how to add a frame dynamically.

You create a frameset with two frames. One frame you give 100% of the rows and run the JSP in this frame. The other frame you give 0% of the row so that it is hidden. In the JSP you use a JavaScript funtion to submit the form. This function will call the parent frameset to reset the row values to 50%/50% which will make the bottom frame visible and then submit the form request with the bottom frame as teh target.
It is not so much as creating frames as using JavaScript to hide and display frames.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Once you set a Pages document password, you will need it again to unlock the document. There is no other available unlocking technique, as many before you have discovered. Tell your mind to recall your document password, and then stop trying to remember it. Let your subconscious retrieve it.
In the future, keep a secure, analog list of your passwords as backup.
