How to set a maximum font

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/793288]''
Firefox has zoom and minimum font settings, but how can I set the MAXIMUM font. Under Ubuntu (U.E. 2.7) and using a wide screen ACER monitor I have to zoom out (or Crtl -) on every page load as the text is too large and consequently the window is not big enough to contain the web page. Is there some way of setting the browser to remember this once it has been performed on the first of a page load in any session?

I think you have a different interpretation of what it means to  "select" or "mark" a font. You cannot do either of those things in the  text itself by dragging the text tool -- that selects the text that has  been entered. The "selected" font in use will be shown in either the  Character or Control panel (as well as in the dropdown for fonts), and  it is in one of these palces that you select a font to use as the  default. It has nothing to do with selecting text, other than if you  want to change the font applied to a particular bit of text you have  selected.
Kind of an all-purpose, context-sensitive term.

  • Forms: How to set a maximum size in Text Fields with automatic size

    ¡Hi!
    When I set a text field on my forms and I use automatic size for te text that the user can write, if the user don't need more space than the field size, when the text appears, Adobe Acrobat Pro always set the text-size to 14 or higher. How can I set a maximum size for that text? For example... 12 or 10...
    Thank you very much,
    Best regards from Spain,
    David.

    Ok. If I use a single line text field, changing the height of the field seems to be a simple way to solve the problem, but... what should I do when the fields are multi-lineal?
    Thanx for your quick answer.

  • How to set the desired font to the selected text in textframe?

    Hi,
    I want to change the font(let's say Times New Roman) of selected text in textframe when I click on  menu-item of my plug-in.
    I went through the Adobe Text Engine documentation and  tried some code for setting font but failed. I don't see any member function in IFont class to set desired font, so unable to move forward.
    plz see the code. I would like to know one more thing that how can we set a particular font for a textframe?
    TextRangesRef rangesRef = NULL;
    result = sAIDocument->GetTextSelection(&rangesRef);
    aisdk::check_ai_error(result);
    ITextRanges ranges(rangesRef);
    if (ranges.GetSize() > 0)
         ITextRange range = ranges.Item(0);
         ICharFeatures features = range.GetUniqueLocalCharFeatures();
         IFont  font;                     // I don't see any method to put desired font.
       // features.SetFont();
    Thanks.
    D.A

    First, get the font:
    AIFontKey fontKey = 0;
    AIErr error = sAIFont->FindFont("Times New Roman Regular", kAIAnyFontTechnology, kNativeAIScript, 0, &fontKey);
    // do something with error
    ATE::FontRef fontRef = 0;
    error = sAIFont->FontFromFontKey(fontKey, &fontRef);
    // do something with error
    ATE::IFont font(fontRef);
    Then, apply it like this:
    ATE::TextRangeRef textRangeRef = 0;
    AIErr error = sAITextFrame->GetATETextRange(handle_to_artwork, &textRangeRef);
    // check error
    ATE::ITextRange textRange(textRangeRef);
    ATE::ICharFeatures charFeatures = textRange.GetUniqueLocalCharFeatures();
    charFeatures.SetFont(font);
    textRange.ReplaceOrAddLocalCharFeatures(charFeatures);
    There are a few other ways to set the text, but you need to understand how character & paragraph styles interact with each other to understand the differneces. This is the most straight forward way to do it though.

  • How to set the maximum heap size on a deployed application?

    Im running a fairly large java application and am getting java.lang.OutOfMemoryError. I could increase the heap size in my development environment to eliminate this error. However, I dont know how to set this in a deployed application. We are currently using ant to build our software.
    Another question, when I execute a statement such as java Xmx512M cp app.jar. Is it correct to say that the application in app.jar will use to a maximum of 512MB of memory when running?
    Thank you everyone for your help!

    But first, when you say "a deployed environment" do you mean an executable .jar file? This is what I'm using.The term "deploy" is commonly used to refer to deploying an ear file or a war file on an application server.
    I would assume that there is some entry you can include in the .jar's
    Manifest.mf file to specify the maximum memory, but I can't find an example of the entry. <a href="http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6197671"></a>

  • How to set a default font

    Hiya!
    I'm making a flyer in inDesign and i want to set a default font to run throughout the document whenever i create a text box. I also want the font size to be set at 10pt all the time. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Also - i have a template for the flyer which includes a border and table.... i want to be able to open this as a template for each flyer, which i can then fill in with information. Is this possible?
    Any pointers would be super appreciated.
    thanks

    Just deselect any item in the document you are working on and set your font and other variables in the font window/bar. Thats all. If you wish to set a standard font for all new document, than close all documents and set the things. This works for almost everything.

  • How to set a maximum download size per connection in the ASA?

    Hi, I would like to avoid big downloads so I want to set a maximum download file size. How can I set the limit MB allowed per connection in the ASA?
    Thanks

    Hello Andrew,
    I got your question, but I think we might be confused here, I did not specify something after the timeout but when you configure it you will see you have the same options
    Here is the configuration options on 8.2.5
    ciscoasa(config-pmap-c)# set connection timeout ?
    mpf-policy-map-class mode commands/options:
      dcd          Configure dead-connection-detection retry interval.
      embryonic    Configure absolute time after which an embryonic TCP connection
                   will be closed, default is 0:00:30.
      half-closed  Configure idle time after which a TCP half-closed connection
                   will be freed, default is 0:10:00
      idle         Configure idle time after which a connection state will be
                   closed.
    Now on an ASA running 8.4.4(9)
    WPLG-ASA-1(config-pmap-c)# set connection timeout ?
    mpf-policy-map-class mode commands/options:
      dcd          Configure dead-connection-detection retry interval.
      embryonic    Configure absolute time after which an embryonic TCP connection
                   will be closed, default is 0:00:30.
      half-closed  Configure idle time after which a TCP half-closed connection
                   will be freed, default is 0:10:00
      idle         Configure idle time after which a connection state will be
                   closed.
    So as you can see same options, no change at all
    Hope that I could help

  • IPod Shuffle: How to set the maximum volume limit

    How do I get back to the volume default I set at the onset of using my shuffle?
    I have speakers in my Ski Helmet and would now like to turn up the volume louder than I have currently set for my in ear earpods.
    Any help is appreciated.
    b

    If you're talking about the Maximium Volume Limit:
    Setting the Maximum Volume Limit
    You can set a limit for the maximum volume on iPod shuffle. You can also set a
    password in iTunes to prevent this setting from being changed by someone else.
    If you’ve set a volume limit on iPod shuffle, the status light blinks orange three times if
    you try to increase the volume beyond the limit.
    To set the maximum volume limit for iPod shuffle:
    1 Set iPod shuffle to the desired maximum volume.
    2 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer.
    3 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane.
    4 Click the Settings tab.
    5 Select “Limit maximum volume.”
    6 Drag the slider to the desired maximum volume.
    The initial slider setting shows the volume the iPod shuffle was set to when you
    selected the “Limit maximum volume” checkbox.
    7 To require a password to change this setting, click the lock and enter a password.
    If you set a password, you must enter it before you can change or remove the
    maximum volume limit.
    Note: The volume level may vary if you use different earphones or headphones.
    To remove the maximum volume limit:
    1 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer.
    2 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane.
    3 Click the Settings tab.
    4 Deselect “Limit maximum volume.”
    Enter the password, if required.
    Note: If you forget the password, you can restore iPod shuffle. See “Updating and
    Restoring iPod shuffle Software” on page 26 for more information.

    /* insert the new string at the given offset, into the old string */

  • How to set the maximum length that a user can enter in Msgstyledtextinput

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm currently using EBS 11.5.1 and 10.2g DB
    Is there a way that I can set the maximum length that a user can input?
    I changed the Maximum Length to lower number (from 150 to 100) but I get the following error.
    Developer Mode Exception encountered in item SaveLocation
    Error: The item SaveLocation has a maximum length (100)
             which is not equal to that of the corresponding VO attribute
           , SaveLocation length (150).
    Action: Make sure they are equal in size. There must be other way to set that value
    Thanks,
    Elmer

    You have to set the maximum length of column to 150 to avoid this error.
    You can set the same in Jdev.
    Thanks

  • How to set the physical font in JEditorPane with HTMLEditorKit

    I am now creating a swing application which use JEditorKit to make a HMTL editor by the following code:
    JEditorPane editor = new JEditorPane();
    HTMLEditorKit kit = new HTMLEditorKit();
    HTMLDocument doc = new HTMLDocument();
    editor.setEditorKit(kit);
    editor.setDocument(doc);
    editor.setContentType("text/html; charset="+sEncoding);
    editor.getDocument();
    u can see that the encoding of the html file is generated dynamically. At the same time, I also hope that the font is also set dynamically. Moreover, I don't want the font to be installed on each platform, so I am using the following code:
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream("Cyberbit.ttf");
    Font font = Font.createFont(Font.TRUETYPE_FONT, fis);
    Therefore, I can use this font in the Java application. However, how can I make the html file can use this font also? How can I make the HTML file to use this font in the JVM? thx!

    However, how can I make the html file can use this font also? How can I make the HTML file to use this font in the JVM? thx!This is my exact problem!

    Extending Martti's post, you can create an XSLT that will add an element around the ASD2.1 part when you import the XML file into FrameMaker. Then FrameMaker's EDD can format this added element with a font different from the one used in the content element.
