How to set defaults?

I need to permanently set the default for my Mail program to NOT delete my mail off the original server (Yahoo) after one week.
This happens every three months:
Mail crashes. That's life.
I can't open Mail without resetting the Connection (it just crashes again).
I reset the POP connection.
The minute Mail sets up the POP connection (you need to be online for this to happen), it rebuilds the mailboxes and goes into the server to download mail. However, the default setting is to delete all mail over one week old on the server.
So the minute I reset my connection, I lose every piece of mail in my server inbox (which is my repository, usually up to thousands of pieces of mail, and the only way to get my mail if I don't have my laptop with me) less than a week old. No use changing the settings to not delete the mail because it is the first thing it does the minute the connection is set.
The only way to avoid this is to remember to go to my server (mail.yahoo.com) BEFORE I reset the connection and move all my mail out of the inbox into a separate folder. Moving thousands of pieces of mail to another folder is NOT pleasant and takes forever.
Also, since Mail only crashes once every three months, I forget to do this as I am just desperate to reset my connection and get back into Mail, period. (I cannot access my mailboxes when Mail crashes and the connection does not work)
So I have now lost my entire mailbox at least twice and it seems sure I will continue to do so in the future.
Therefore I wish to know how I can permanently alter the default settings on Mail so that everytime I set a new connection it doesn't delete all my mail off the server.

Sorry for the incoherency. I used the wrong vocab and it's hard for me to recreate a past experience.
Crash report below.
Here is a better description of what happened:
Mail crashed. A window appeared asking whether I wanted to keep the old or set new settings. If I choose the keep my old settings, everytime I opened Mail it would crash with my first action (cursor move or mouse click) and ask me again whether I wanted to keep or choose new settings. After multiple times, I finally chose Set New Settings. The New Account (what I called "connection") window opened, and I had to reinput settings for my POP account.
The weird thing is that if I click "Cancel" on the New Account window (if I refuse to put in new settings), Mail immediately closes. Also, there is no mail or mailboxes visible behind the New Account window. I am unable to access my mail or Mail. All my previously downloaded mail is still there on my laptop, in Finder as .mbx files, but I can't get to them through Mail. Very odd.
Trying to reopen Mail sends me straight to the New Account window again. The only way past this window is to Continue and reset the POP settings (since I can't use IMAP, Exchange, and don't have .mac) and then I lose my repository mail on the Yahoo mail server due to the defaults. The mailboxes rebuild and I can finally access the mail that was already on my laptop.
On a friend's recommendation, I went to my Library>Preferences and deleted my com.apple.mail.plist file to see what happened. When I do that, essentially the same thing happens. I try to open Mail, it asks me for a New Account. When I click Cancel, Mail closes. If I click Connect, I have to set up a new Account and rebuild mailboxes to get to my mail. All the menus on the top of the screen have grayed-out choices.
So I can't work without an Account. That is very odd. I can't work "offline". It also means I can't go into Mail to change the defaults BEFORE putting in the POP settings. I can't get past this New Account window.
Does that make sense?

Hi,
Assigning a default Reason for Rejection is not in standard SAP. I am sure there is some enhancement/user exit which updates the reason for rejection.
Please get the help of an ABAPer, create the sales order in debugging mode and he will find out the logic behind the automatic reason for rejection.
Before that you can find the exits in the include MV45AFZZ for any code related to this.

This information initial value is (maybe) stored in Windows Register (register.exe) at Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Filetransfer -> PathDownload, you can read it thru class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES method GET_UPLOAD_DOWNLOAD_PATH and update it thru method REGISTRY_SET_VALUE. (Else there may be some parameter ID to force data, but I'm no longer sure)

I'm pretty sure higher access superceedes, so you could set up a group with no actual access, just to get the preferences working, then their individual security will dictate what they can do. I haven't tested this fully, but I beleive this is how it will work. As far as setting the preferences, go into the admin console and right click on the group, then select Preferences. To apply the group preferences to a user, add the user to the group, then right click on the user, select preferences and from the upper left corner, use the drop down to select the active preference, in this case, it will be the group you created and added them to. HTH

You have to set something on your computer (outside Java) to tell it that you are in the US. You didn't say, but I'm going to guess that you are using Windows; if that's so, then try Regional Options in Control Panel.

How to set default view for preview?

Every time I open a PDF using Preview I have to set the view to 'thumbnails', then 'two pages up', then adjust the zoom. Complete waste of time.

I customized my Toolbar to look like the following. Click the middle button that has the 1 circled. That tells Preview to remember to display pages at actual size (100%). Every file that I open now displays at 100%.

Select option is table <Structure> with fields, low, high, sign & option
you need to append the value into the select option, with appropriate value in low or
example:
S_HKONT-low = <value>
S_HKONT-SIGN = 'I'
S_hkont-OPTION = 'EQ'
append s_hkont.
Default value for select-option also can be added directly in select-option statement.

We tried all the way but could not able assign characteristics value before saving the document. it means we can only see the assigned value using transaction CV02N. but our requirement is to check if the user fills any value into characteristics it should check with default value which we would like to assign whenever we create a new part of the document which we are not able to achieve.we tried a lot but could not succeed.
Nay idea if we can achieve this....

The reason behind this is security. If the programmer could put any value they liked in there, you could upload any file at all from a users computer without their intervention. eg C:\windows\system32\passwords.txt
Bottom line: you can't put a default value into the input type="file" control.
And a good thing too ;-)

It is solved now. Go to Layout Model -> Main Section, Press F4. In the property pallet select the Orientation that is required to be selected when print is taken for that report.

String reportDate = df.format(today);
wdContext.currentContextElement().setFromDate(reportDate);
Another way you have set the this formate like that
1. Create a Simple type under "Dictionaries->SimpleType" called DateFormat
2. Select the type as "date"
3. Go to the "Representation" tab and set the format as "dd/MM/yyyy" (or whatever u want, but month should be MM)
4.Bind the context attribute to the type created now.
