How to set download resolution to low rez as default?

Have limited data download. Want all data downloads to default to lowest resolution to reduce amount of data downloaded.

In the old days, sites sometimes specified a "low res" version of images, which the browser could load more quickly as a placeholder for a better quality version of the image. I don't know whether sites do that any more, so I'm not sure what signal Firefox could check for whether a lower resolution version is available.
Meanwhile, to stop Firefox from downloading images automatically, you could consider an add-on such as Image Block: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/image-block/ (adds a toolbar button so you have more control over when to download images).
Are there other kinds of content that raise a similar concern to images?
I guess videos... I haven't researched how to prefer a low-res video. Most users seem to be looking for HD resolution. But maybe there's an add-on for this, too? If you find anything in your research, please post back with your solution.

how to set adobe acrobat 9 pro as pdf default program on mac snow leopard OS?

I say to highlight more than one if you can because if the PDF you highlight was made by using Acrobat, it will change all PDF's made by Acrobat but if you have one made by some other product, it may not change them to open with Acrobat.
So in other words, at some point you may have to do it to a PDF made by some other product.

  • How to set screen resolution in BDC

hi pls give info regarding how to set resolution for screen
    thank you
    Ravi

    hi,
For screen resolution use ctu_params, with default size
    Data : f_option type ctu_params,
    f_option-updmode = 'S'.
    f_option-defsize = 'X'.
    f_option-dismode = 'N'.
call transaction 'VA01' using bdcdata options from f_option messages into bdcerror.
CALL TRANSACTION tcode... OPTIONS FROM opt
    ... OPTIONS FROM opt
    Effect
Allows you to control processing using the values of the componetns of the structure opt, which must have the ABAP Dictionary type CTU_PARAMS. The components have the following meanings:
    DISMODE
Display mode (like the MODE addition)
    UPDMODE
Update mode (like the UPDATE addition)
    CATTMODE
    CATT mode (controls a CATT)
CATT mode can have the following values:
    ' ' No CATT active
    'N' CATT without single-screen control
    'A' CATT with single-screen control
    DEFSIZE
    Use default window size
    RACOMMIT
Do not end transaction at COMMIT WORK
    NOBINPT
No batch input mode (that is, SY-BINPT = SPACE)
    NOBIEND
No batch input mode after the end of BDC data.
The components DEFSIZE , RACOMMIT, NOBINPT, and NOBIEND always take the following values:
    'X' Yes
    ' ' No
If you do not use the OPTIONS FROM addition, the following control parameter settings apply:
    DISMODE
    From addition MODE
    UPDMODE
    From addition UPDATE
    CATTMODE
    No CATT active
    DEFSIZE
Do not use default window size
    RACOMMIT
    Successful end on COMMIT WORK
    NOBINPT
    Batch input mode active ( SY-BINPT = X
    NOBIEND
Batch input mode remains active after the BDC data

  • How to set screen resolution on Apple TV Gen2

This is my first bad out of the box experience with an Apple product. I got my brand new Apple TV Gen 2 and hooked it up to our Sony Receiver/TV.
Plugged everything in. Turned it on and I got the screen but am not able to change resolution. With the current resolution I can not see all the menus and the display does not fit on the 40" display.
    Tried unplugging.
    Tried doing a reset.
Tried holding the Menu & Down arrow
Tried looking through the menus, such as Settings, Video & Audio but can't find anything on setting screen resolution
Tried searching this forum for instructions for changing resolution
Much appreciation in advance for any tips or magic tricks on setting screen resolution.

i also have this problem. i had a long discussion with apple support and the result was that apple tv 2 is not build for connecting it to a receiver but only to a up-to-date flat TV. i don´t know how i managed it to use the 720p resolution but as i had it i set the auto power to off and let it switched on all the time.
after the update to 4.2.1 it had no chance to get it to 720p. it is locked to 1024x768 which is not the resolution i want to watch HD movies.
but my setup is not a normal one. i have a onkyo AV receiver which is sending the HDMI signal over a HDMI splitter to an LCD screen and a HD beamer. the LCD screen is an old one which has no HDMI input, i use a HDMI to analog-component converter for this. the HDMI output of the onkyo is connected to a wireless HDMI system from marmitek.
so its not so the ideal setting for apple tv. i hope that everything works fine if i have a new flat TV with a normal HDMI input.

But as to why grub2 won't work, idk, I'm staying away from this over-engineered piece of... something... that just happens to also include a bootloader . Could be your syntax is wrong. Have you already tried 1440x900@24 or 1440x900-24 or simply 1440x900 or 0x037f?
    Edit: Gah, GRUB_GFXMODE isn't for grub.cfg, it's for /etc/default/grub. If you're configuring grub.cfg directly, it's 'set gfxmode=1440x900x24'. See what I mean with over-engineered piece of something?
Thanks for tips. Yes, I edited /etc/default/grub not grub.cfg. Everytime when I finish editing /etc/default/grub I execute

  • How to set closed captioning to turn 'on' as default setting?

Does anyone know how to set the closed captioning so that
this feature is turned "on" as the default when people view the
finished product? As it stands right now, users must select the
"cc" button on the "control pad" to turn on closed captioning, but
I want it to automatically appear.

    Hi again
All you should have to do is to edit the first slide in
Captivate. Click Insert > Animation and point at the .SWF file.
Once you have done this, publish your project again and your Closed
    Captions should display automagickally.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Setting Download, Scan, Print Capture d/l Defaults

Is there a single way to determine where everything is going on my Mac?
For instance, I have a default folder that I can set through Pages for my scans, I have a default web download folder that I set through Safari (?), I have a default location for Print Captures that I set in ____________, I have a default location for email downloads that I set through Thunderbird (I think), if I don't import directly to iPhoto where does the upload photo default folder get set etc, etc.
    Thanks!

Thanks. Man, they should gather these all up. It would be nice to have a Actions tab...
Can I please ask you if there is a way to globally set the Open With settings for software? I know I get a list in my email handler about what to do with certain file types, is there something similar in Mac? I've been setting this by right clicking on the file and setting the answer to Always Perform this Action. But this is a pita.
Lastly, is there any reason other than some kind of system corruption why I should not see one of these settings "stick"? I mean, they get applied immediately, yes? I set jpg to open with Photoshop Elements and the next time I double click on a jpg I should get it to open in Elements and not Pages?! Is there some other setting that could conflict with this?
    Thanks,

How to use MediaPlayer object SetBounds method to change movie's resolution to 330*330 ?Well - 'don't'. Java layouts typically honour the preferred size in relation to the current layout constraint, than any 'bounds'.
Only can same scale zoom visual componentTo help further, I would need to see an SSCCE.
BTW - had you considered adding (the visual component of) the player to the CENTER constraint of a BorderLayout, and putting all that in a JFrame that is resizable? Then the user can choose whatever size they want to view the video, by dragging the frame to the desired size.

  • Can I set adaptive resolution to OFF as the default ?

    Hi -
I turn off adaptive resolution (fast previews) as a matter of course but it seems that I have to do this specifically for every composition window.
The default is apparently for adaptive resolution to be on.
This is a little tedious and I wondered if there is a way to change this default behaviour.
I would expect to find such a setting in preferences but that only offers an option to set the degree of adaptive resolution - not turn it off completely.
Obviously not desperate but it would be one less hassle.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Rick.
By the time I discovered that I didn't like adaptive resolution and then how to do something about it I already had a couple of CS6 project files and lots of comps on the current job.
I suppose I would have realised this before too long but I'm grateful to you for taking the time and getting me there quicker.
    Thanks - Rod

  • I have four email accounts, i do not know how to set up one of them as a default account, can you help me?

i have 4 email accounts, how can i set up a default email account?

Depends on what you mean by "default account" and maybe what version of OS X you are using. (Your profile says "MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), Mac OS X (10.1.x)" but MBP-R can't run 10.1.x.
Maybe you mean for new messages. If so, then on 10.10.x use Mail > Preferences > Composing > Addressing: > Send new message from:
