How to set global scope for SmallSearchInputBox ?

Hello,
I need to find content across all site collection, while SmallSearchInputBox searches only to respective site collection.
Can anyone please let me know how can I set a search scope for SmallSearchInputBox that finds content across all site collection under same web application ?

If you would like to change the search scope of SmallSearchInputBox in SharePoint 2010 which appears at the top right of a page, then you would customize the feature of this control.

I have configured 9i RAC active/active database into a active/passive.
The users were not able to connect using XA drivers.
I have run the xaview.sql script as sys in @O_H/rdbms/admin and granted select privs as below.
grant select on v$xatrans$ to public;

grant select on dba_2pc_pending to public;
grant select on dba_pending_transactions to public;
Still users are not able to connect to the databases using XA drivers.
What is needed more to be set up on the database side?
Can any one let me know the detailed method to set global transactions(that is what I was told needs to be set up) on the oracle database.

How to set a scope for sessions

I need to create a session to store my object in it and I need it to be avalable ONLY on the same computer!!!
I have the following:

in jsp2
MyObject obj=(MyObject)request.getSession().getAttribute("MyObject ");
now if several users work at the same time they get objects(in jsp2) , last created by another user (in jsp1).

To be clear, there are basically three ways to access the portal:
1) authlessanonymous: This method does not require a user to login. Furthermore, only one "session" is created for all anonymous users that are accessing the system. Therefore, it is not appropriate to store user-specific information in the session object when using authlessanonymous. However, the advantage of this is that it is extremely efficient. Obviously, sessions incur a certain amount of overhead and the ability to consolidate anonymous access to a single session reduces the load on the system and increases scalability.
2) anonymous: Notice the lack of "authless" here. In this case, a new session is created for every anonymous user accessing the system. In a large deployment, this will result in a lot of overhead in the system and reduce the overall scalability of the portal. The advantage of this configuration is that you can store user-specific information in the session.
3) Registered User: In this case, known users log into the system. This also creates a new session for each user. In this situation you can also store information in the user's display profile within the directory server. Users can customize their desktop and have a much more personalized experience with the portal.
The typical use case is that most access is done anonymously. Not all users will log into the portal. You want to minimize the impact that anonymous access has on the system. Users that log into the portal will have their own customized portal desktop and also have access to their own session. This creates a more personal experience for users that log into the portal.

How can i setup Enhanced Retro for Global HR International.
Iam implementing HR/Payroll on latest 12i. I am using HR International.
when i execute the following query , there is no records
select * from pay_legislation_rules
where rule_type like '%ADVANCED%RETRO%'
and legislation_code = 'IQ'
I have created events, event groups, enable dynamic triggers for my business group and legislation(IQ) and enter the corresponding event group and retro element in the Element screen(retro component).
And i update one allowance in the back period , and I found one row has been inserted in pay_process_events table. But i am not able to run enhanced Retro Notification report and not able to find any Enhanced Retro concurrent request.
Any one have any idea?

There are no specific concurrent programs for Enhanced/Advanced retropay. The old ones still do, and derive under the hood the method of retropay.
I do not recall by hard the setting to activate enhanced retro (but it is a legislation rule), but it should show already in the element type screen. If you have the retro tab in the screen, and first you have to specify the method (Adjustment, ...) before specifying the retro element type (and time span), then you know that enhanced retro is configured correctly.

For Attributes : set the properties in EO or VO. [You can set all UI properties too]
For labels: use Resource bundle
For Layout Components to set the look and feel. CSS/Skinning would be the best.
I guess this should cover most part of application.

I am having problem with getting ie10 to set ie9 compatibility for a single site (sharepoint.contoso.com).
When I add this website in Compatibility View Settings (Alt > Tools > Compatibility View Settings > 'Add this Website') it adds the domain 'contoso.com' and not the individual website (sharepoint.contoso.com).
This cause other sites (www.contoso.com) to be configured to use compatibility mode. Because this is a separate site (different web server) to the site sharepoint.contoso.com (sharepoint 2010 server) we need different compatibility settings.
Using a different example to explain the issue -
Microsoft has three websites that are different websites created by different developers written in different programming languages and they only work with certain browsers.
microsoft.com (Website1 created by Developer1) - compatible with ie8/ie9/ie10
msdn.microsoft.com (Website2 created by Developer2) - compatible with ie8/ie9
technet.microsoft.com (Website3 website created by Developer3) - compatible only with ie10
The only thing the three website share is the URL contains 'microsoft.com'.
Marking 'msdn.microsoft.com' to run in compatibility mode affects the other 2 websites - mainly technet.microsoft.com which will not work now since it only runs in pure ie10 mode.
Should you be able to add an individual site to the compatibility list instead of all sites that have .microsoft.com in the URL? Am I missing a simple setting in the ie10?
As a workaround I am using the F12 Developer Tools to set the Browser Mode which temporary sets the compatibility mode. However this is not a nice solution to the end users at our organisation.

Oh! I wrote it wrong: I should have said: This is not solved for NON-AD environments. No demands what so ever to use Window 7/8 professional in a small corporation or on a big corporation with Island of smaller departments for example offshore.
The problem is that the thread is not "Answered" by the OP, its is marked answered by a moderator (and same moderator that did the answer) so no way of telling if the OP is satisfied.
But you are right in the fact that I am almost kidnapping the thread. But a complete answer would benefit all in this case I would presume.

How to set default values for boolean columns

I'm trying to deploy some content types and columns into a site with a feature. All it's ok, except that I'm trying to set a default value for boolean columns with no success.
I've tried to set default value at column level:

Also, do a search in this forum on HttpURLConnection. That class allows you to use POST method to send form data to a web server.
"Hidden" variables are only hidden in HTML. The HTTP that gets POSTed to the web server doesn't distinguish between hidden and not hidden. That is, the content you would write to the HttpURLConnection.getOutputStream() would be something like:
hidden=1&submit=ok(Of course, the variable names would depend on what the web server was expecting from the form.)
Also, be sure to set the Content-Type request parameter to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"

The iPhone has a feature called "Activation Lock" described here:

Without that Apple ID, you will not be able to use that iPhone.
