How to set Media Encoder to render composition backgrounds
How do I set media encoder to export compositions with the background color instead of always black?
That doesn't answer the question - that's a work around.
Your answer tells me that there is no setting in media encoder to render out my composition without an alpha. The only way to render without an alpha is to alter my composition to make it compatible with media encoder.
Seems like a strange way to program your software.

But I have to report two issues about version CS5:
1. I bought the English version of the production premium CS5 but I have a German operating system (win7 64bit) all other adobe application are in English except Adobe Media Encoder it shows up in German language! Not a show stopper but should be fixed.
2. Recently I wanted to encode a video into an h264. I made some custom settings for that and the encoded video played very stuttered in Microsoft Media Player 12 (like 12fps instead of 25fps [settings were set correct in AME]) but fine in Quicktime and VLC Player (execpt for the gamma bug but that's an other story...)
I did a lot of testings and found the issue! Sometimes when you change a lot of the h264 settings (don't know when it happens exactly) Media Encoder seems to not set the fps correctly allthough AME shows 25fps in it's settings this setting is not encoded into the final file!
Quicktime and VLC seems not to care about the missing information but Windows Media Player gets confused.
It does not happens when using a preset in AME it only happens when changing a lot and using custom settings!
You can see the missing fps setting when right clicking the encoded file and choose properties (german:Eigenschaften) switch the tap to Details and there is no fps setting in the stuttering files but when encoded with a preset in AME there is the correct 25fps setting!
I have attached a screenshots to demonstrate it:
My workaround so far was to choose a preset with 25fps and close to my desired settings and change as few as possible - Fingers crosses and with a chance of 3/4 I was able to encode a working file containing the fps setting in it which plays perfect in Microsoft Media Player!
I hope you take a look into this issue because if you have a long file and you have to encode it again because it fails....... uiuiui

I make web-based training for a large health care system. Due to system load requirements of our e-learning services department we can only place files up to 10MB in size into our learning packages.
Lately we have lots of departments who want to include videos in the training. At the 10 MB limit we can get about 4 minutes of video, but often the videos are longer than that so we cut them up into "chapters" and then use the FLVplayback component to "stitch" them back together.
I used to use Sorensen Squeeze for Flash to import the source video, select in and out points for each chapter and then run the batch to compress all the FLVs. (We are also limited to publishing to Flash 8 and the On2 Vp6 codec!)
The two things I liked about Squeeze were that I could save the project and come back and tweek quality or in/out points, etc. as needed. And I also liked that I could play the audio in squeeze and figure out exactly which frame to put my in and out points on.
For a variety of reasons we can't use Squeeze anymore, so I thought I would use the Media Encoder that came with my CS4 suite.
However I can't figure out how to do those two things.
How do I save the settings I make so I can come back and adjust them without having to recreate the whole thing?
How do I play back the video so that I can see/hear where those breaks should go?
If it isn't possible to do those things does anyone have advice on what tool might meet my needs? Thanks.Okay, next question...
I'm going to have to go with an uncompressed Quicktime file, since I need a 5.1 mix and I can't export with Lagarith to anything but AVI in Stereo.
I exported by selecting quality at 100 percent and "None" for my codec. Actually, I'll list all the settings I used below:
Format: Quicktime
Preset: Custom
Video Codec: None
Quality: 100
Width: 1280
Height: 720
Frame Rate: 23.976
Field Type: Progressive
Render at Maximum Depth - Checked
Aspect: Square Pixels (1.0)
Codec Settings: 32 bit
Optimize Stills - Not checked
I had to try a couple of different times with different options, but these are the settings that worked best for me. I rendered the first 45 seconds of the EPK and it produced an enormous 3.2 gigabyte file that appeared to be full quality.
Are these settings good to go with, or is there anything that I can do better? Different options? I'm particularly concerned about outputting the file in full 720p and 16x9, I had to mess around with the Aspect and manually set the height and width to 1280x720 before it looked right. Should I do things any other way? -
How to uninstall Media Encoder CC in Mac OS (after Media Encoder CC 2014 is installed)

I would like to uninstall Media Encoder CC as I now have Media Encoder CC 2014 installed.
It is nearly 2GB and I need the space.
There isn't an uninstall shortcut as there is for most of the other CC apps?
I could try dragging it all to the trash but have read that adobe apps should be uninstalled with an uninstaller?

Adobe Media Encoder wont Render from Beginning
Hi there I am trying to render a After Effects Project but when i try to render in Media Encoder it will only render from 1.47.26sec into my project ot the start,
i have tried to adjust the Source range in Encioder as well as make sure the work area is the full clip in after effects but cant figure it out, help would be much appreciated.
ThanksHave never tried what you're doing. Perhaps Export a new clip from AE using a lossless codec, and then use AME on that clip? On Mac, use ProRes, and for PC you can install UT, Lagarith, or Avid DNxHD for instance.

I couldn't find the right API to set character encoding for a webservice client. What I did is
1, wsimport which gives me MyService, MyPortType...
2. Create new MyService
3. Get MyPort from MyService
4. Call myPort.myOperation with objects
Where is the right place to set character encoding and how to set it? Thanks.

How to set media format in IMFMediaSource
I'm, trying to implement a grabber using IMFMediaSource, IMFMediaSession and IMFTopology. I built a topology including the IMFMediaSource and an IMFSampleGrabberSinkCallback. My problem is how to set the current media format. I found a function in msdn:

That function works. But only once. If I start the session and stopped it, the current format does change. All return values are fine, but format does not changes in OnProcessSample callback. Any ideas? Do I have to rebuilt complete topology? Must I stop

How to uninstall Media Encoder and Bridge CS6?
I'm using the CC 2014 version of all my Adobe apps, except I still need Encore CS6 because there isn't a newer version. I uninstalled Premiere CS6, but I still have Bridge and Media Encoder left over in my Applications folder. Neither of these has an uninstaller, like the other apps do. Are they required for Encore to function, and if not, what's the best way to remove them? I wanted to hear from someone at Adobe before I just throw them in the trash.

How to Set "file.encoding" System Property to default "UTF-8"
When i execute my code some special character are not being display correct so by programming approach i am trying to set "file.encoding" system property to "UTF-8", using command System.setProperty( "file.encoding", "UTF-8" ); and it is not working.
If i run my jar using command java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar myprog.jar . It is working and my special characters are also looking in right way.
Can i set this defalut encoding by programming approach.

I have the same problem. I have a java prog that is started with "-Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1". Now in this program I want to print some characters using the UTF-8 encoding because I know that the terminal I will be printing on has this encoding. I tried using InputStramReader without success:
