how do I set up a gen 3 airport extreme using ethernet wire to newest extreme just bought it yesterday, not set up yet) to extend wireless network to far side of house

I am using my IMac osx 10.8 to make any changes to network and will use it to set up new AEBS,

Once you have the new AEBS set up and working as your "main" router, other than making the physical Ethernet connection and typing in a device name that you want to use on the 3rd Gen AEBS, AirPort Utility will take care of all the settings for you automatically. You do not need to worry about any of this.
2nd question, if I get a new AXAC will I get better speeds or will I just get N speeds?
Not sure what you are asking. Only the new AEBS (and Time Capsule) will deliver 802.11"ac" speeds. Your 3rd Gen AEBS will deliver "n" speeds as will an AirPort Express.
3rd. can i after I set up a roaming network then use my old AX (A1264) to stream music to speakers/stereo?

Sorry, I have no "hands on" experience with any Roku products, so cannot help on that.
Suggested plan:
First, get the new AEBS set up as your new "main" router and check it out for proper operation. AirPort Utility will guide you through the setup.
Post back when you have done this and then I will provide tips on how to set up the 3rd Gen AEBS to extend the network using Ethernet. Setup is very easy if you follow the steps.
Once the 3rd Gen AEBS is setup and working, then the A1264 AirPort Express will get attention. Setup will very easy using AirPort Utility.

Mixing new Extreme with old Extreme N equipment?

I want to get the new Extreme to be used as my main device and I want to use my old Extreme N and Airport Express N to connect printers and use as extenders/repeaters.
1. Will using the older N equipment slow my network down to N speeds?
2. Will I notice much speed improvement by upgrading from my Airport Extreme N to the new one?
3. To benefit by the capabilities of the new Extreme, do I need to upgrade anything else besides my computers, so the full speed is realized? Ex: cables, hub, etc.

If using my older N speed equipment and this will slow the network down, then there is no point in buying the new Extreme, right?Just want to make sure I understand.
As I said, any device that connects to the older AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme on the network is going to connect at the speeds at which those devices are capable.....which would be 802.11n.
Devices that are close to the new AirPort Extreme that are also 802.11ac capable, should connect at ac speed levels.
A note of caution here though, as the 5 GHz ac signals are quite weak, and do not penetrate walls or other obstructions well, so you would want to think of 802.11ac as a "same room" or "line of sight" type of connection to reliably get the higher ac speeds with devices that are ac capable.
A room or two away and the same ac devices are going to connect at lower speeds....whether the connection is at ac levels or it has dropped down to normal n levels.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with any other 802.11ac routers, but I would expect them to behave according to the same laws of physics that affect all wireless products.
The bottom line here is that you will not know how well a new 802.11ac router will perform in your home until you try it out there. For that reason, it would be wise to buy from an Apple store or other vendor who will provide you with a 14 day, no questions asked return privilege.

How to create new record with old values

i have creation page with 45 fields are there
user will enter all the fields and save it will call to non editable mode
if user will click on change button it will call to editable mode
in that my requirement is user wont change among those ites(45 items)clcik on save again it will call to view mode
in that user will change any one of the value among 45 items and click on save button i need to create one more record in database
if user wont edit any one of the field out of 45 items i dont want to create new record in database
how can we achieve thsi functionality

When user may edit the record, the same row may get updated in vo. Thus over writing existing row instead of creating new row.
Approach1..
On the page where user may edit records, instead of presenting records of existing row, present copy of existing row. So

Last question first, as we need to know what operating system that the Mac is using.
If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac, and post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

I can still login with Microsoft account, but Skype keeps rejecting my skype password. Tried to recover it using dialog box, but this doesn't work - it either, moving me rounds and rounds without possibility to set new or view old password, either proposing me to change my Facebook password though my Facebook account isn't linked to Skype. Crazy, isn't it? By the way, those security codes are totally useless in case when smallest string in Skype scripting fails.
Spend hours reading topics. Nothing that could help. I have never seen any other network, service or software wich was so uhelpful in recovering passwords and feel sorry for what I have to use Skype and not something reliable and trouble-free.
Still problem remains insolved an I have no clue how to change Skype password in accessible way.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Does any one know <b>how to set up SAPconnect with email server</b>
We are using workflow and when it fails it we are sending the notification mail to the user on his company mail id, i.e. [email protected]
This is working in the current production system. We are doing the new development which will replace the current production system. The existing Basis team does not know how it was setup in production system and how to set it up in the new system.
When we send any mail notification from workflow we can see the mail in SCOT transaction but it is not received at the specified mail address.
Can any one provide the configuration steps or any document for this.

Go to SE11 n open Table sxnodes in change mode.
And change F_ESMTP field to false i.e. BLANK for the Field NODE = SMTP.

The iPhone has a feature called "Activation Lock" described here:

Without that Apple ID, you will not be able to use that iPhone.

Then create the condition to HIDE the rows having those values to be filtered (if this is your purpose)..

Yeah, that worked for me, but it's an indication that some work needs to be done. One needs to AVOID running this as root, and so I think thats going to be the first challenge for the amarok1 maintainer. The ONLY thing we should use root for is the actual installation, not the compilation.

New Airport Extreme with old Time Capsule?

I just bought a new 802.11ac Airport Extreme to increase the speed and range of my home network. My network currently runs on an 802.11g Time Capsule. I would like to continue to back up to the old Time Capsule. Should I just set up the old Time Capsule with wireless off in bridge mode or should I place the Time Capsule somewhere else in the house strategically, leaving wireless on, to improve range? Someone told me adding a G-speed access point or client to the network would slow things down.

You can do either. If you hare happy with the coverage of the 802.11ac AirPort Extreme, then I would recommend that you go with your first idea. I would connect the Time Capsule directly to the new Extreme using an Ethernet cable, disable its wireless and reconfigure it as a bridge.

I've purchased a NAS (Synology DS211j with 2 caviar HD) over a month ago. Setting up the NAS for wireless connection locally was easy. I've been trying for 3 weeks on how to set-up port forwarding on my airport extreme base. I''ve researched and read countless threads on port forwarding and still cannot grasp the concept and the step by step provided. I need somebody that's patient enough to hand hold and guide me through this frustrating problem.
Equipment:
Comcast cable modem connected into Airport Extreme Base

Cannot connect to my DiskStation via internet from wherever
confused whether to use FTP or Personal file sharing or whatever is the most suitable for my needs

Here are the basic steps to configure your NAS for port mapping:
AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
Reserve address by: MAC Address
Click Continue.
MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
Click Done.
2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup >Advanced > Port Mapping tab
Click the "+" (Add) button
Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
Public UDP Port(s): <enter the appropriate UDP port values>
Public TCP Port(s): <enter the appropriate TCP port values>
Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>

I am having a heck of a time getting my new network setup with this new 802.11n Airport Extreme... Here is what I currently have going on:
I have a G5 1.8 it is my main computer and in ROOM #1... Connected to it is my NEW AIRPORT EXTREME via an Ethernet cable to one of the available ports. Also connected to the NEW AIRPORT EXTREME is my CABLE MODEM... This works great, It is setup and I have internet via Ethernet... I CAN EVEN CONNECT IN ROOM #2 with a PC and an Apacer wireless adapter...
Here is the problem
When I try to add an Airport Express V6.3 to extended the range of my network it can NEVER seem to connect to the network. I have checked the option to allow extension of the NEW AIRPORT in AIRPORT UTILITY and tried both with WEP security and with NO SECURITY... I cannot get the Express to extend the range of my network period... It has an error when joining the network???
Can Anyone Please Help Me?
PS. The reason to extend the network is so I can use the Notebooks in ROOM #3 and so a TIVO can see the Network! It is not far away!
