How to set TextEdit not to open Documents automatically protected

I get texts for my redactional work that I have to cut&paste from Text Edit into my CMS. Unfortunately under Lion every document is opened in protected mode - causing ths annoying dialogue pop up whenever I "cut" for the first time.
How can I swith this off - it's really annoying and causing delay to my routine work !

Go to Time Machine System Prefs and click on the Options button.
Set the file lock time as you'd like.

With Parallels running, but the virtual machine off i.e. Windows not running, under the Edit menu select 'Virtual machine...'
On the left of the window that appears, in the 'Resource' column, there is the 'Shared Applications' selection. Click it and these options will appear on the right of the window.
You can click on the 'Help' button once you've selected the 'Shared Applications' options and it will explain further about the options.

Word & Excel will not send open Document as an Email Attachment

I have a user (one of the firm's managing principals), who can no longer Email the currently open document as an attachment from Word or Excel. The last thing
that was installed on her system was Outlook 2013, it is set as the default email software. She also has Office 2003, this was left on her machine to help in the transitioning into the newer version, I am not sure how much she uses this.<o:p></o:p>
is there a way to correct this 'WITH OUT' installing Office 2013?

Hi,
The "Send as Attachment" option only works when Outlook and word are installed from the same suite. That is required.

How to set which page to open on

Hi,
Can someone tell me how to set the property (which one?) so the pdf document will open on a certain page?
I just cannot figure out how to use the reference. There is a GoTo, which maybe is the one i'm looking for(?), but how do i call/set it?

Each document contains all pages. So essentially, there are a lot of copies of the same file and has the same content (yes, it is stupid).
Anyway, i have found a way to do this. I open each document (which i thought would already be open so i could use "this"), set the property, save and lastly close it. It works, but it aint fast. So if someone ever finds a way to do this faster, that would be really nice. :-)

How to set Mail NOT to download new messages?

How can I set Mail NOT to automatically download incoming email messages when it opens?
I have several email accounts turned on within Mail. My default email is NOT iCloud, and I use another app to manage that account. However, within other apps, for example, to report a crash, the iPad defaults to Mail to send the report. That is OK. However, in the process it starts downloading all my incoming messages. I want it NOT to do that.
i want it to download new messages only when I ask it to do so.

The iPhone data plans are unlimited, so you shouldnt be concerned about cost. That being said, it is ANNOYING to have all accounts (I have six) check email just because I launch the mail app. And if I follow a URL in an email to Safari, then come back to Mail, it checks AGAIN.
Nope, there is not way to stop if from doing that short of turning the account OFF under Mail Settings, which is even MORE inconvenient. I went to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and left them a message. Perhaps you should do the same.

How to push the two pdf opened documents in the array?

What do you mean you want to put the "pdf open documents" in an array? You mean the PDDoc structures? Just use a std::vector<> or the like.
And what did you want to print?
If you are trying to debug, why not use the source debugger for your platform?

I believe you would need to use the lsM[NAME] syntax.
lsM[NAME] is used to specify multiple values for prompts, separated by a comma.

How to set an attached USB drive to automatic sleep using Airdisk?

Greetings all!
I am looking for a way to set my two USB drives to sleep when they are not being used. I only use them a few minutes a day, and don't want to run them down or use the electricity to keep them spinning.
It seems there has been some discussion about this but I haven't been able parse all the conversations. Some people seem to have gotten it to work, while others are relying on a drives "internal" mechanisms. It would be great if someone (perhaps at Apple?) could chime in with an overview of the problem.
Perhaps it is linked to the method of authentication - ie., (using Airport Utility 5.1), whether the Disks > File Sharing > "Secure Shared Disks" > is with "disk password" or another method?
Some have suggested a radio button for a future firmware/other update such as:
"Set drives to sleep when not in use" (Let's hope for this!), but I am hoping for a simple solution in the near future.
Any thoughts out there?

1. For using Microsoft Outlook rules, we need to keep the computer on, even after work or the colleague is on leave. That is not allowed in my company.
2. For sending an auto-reply email based on subject, that is impossible because the emails from customers are different and we don't have a basic standard.
3. Could you please elaborate how to set a transport rule in Exchange server to achieve the goal?

1. Only client rules require that the Outlook client remain open. An auto-reply rule should be server-side, so no need to leave Outlook open.

3. Walk through the hub transport rules and you see one that replies with a rejection code. Thats the best you can get with a hub transport rule and not something I would recommend in your scenario. You could also search around for 3rd party solutions.

We have configured status profile for third party sales document type. This will stop creating PR from sales order. After chaning the status from STP to GO, system will create PR. But the problem here is user is going and changing the object status manully.
The business wants to release at a time many records automatically. Do we have any transaction code which we can use for changing the user status automatically for many orders?

No standard program exists for it, as statuses are always customized.
create a BDC program for status change and run in backgram as batch job.

How do I set the default font for any new text frames I create.
I have several thousand InDesign templates in which the default font is set to a font that is no longer licenced and therefore requires changing.
I already have a script which will open each template and change the first insertion point of any (empty) text frame to a new font but any new text frames created in these templates still want to use the unlicensed font.

How do I change what Firefox opens documents with so I can print them?

I used to print documents for work. The would show up in separate tabs across the top. I click on it and print. Now all the documents go to an arrow on the side and when Ipull them up they are in wordpad and jibberish. please help.

Could you describe this in a little more detail?
First, are you opening PDF documents from a website? If Firefox is automatically downloading them instead of displaying them, you may be able to change that setting. Please see this article for more information: [[View PDF files in Firefox without downloading them]].
Second, instead of clicking items on the download panel to open them, try clicking the folder icon on the right to open the folder they're in with the file highlighted. What kind of file does Windows say it is? If you right-click the file, do you have the option to open it in another program?
Third, if the problem comes after printing, make sure the checkbox for "Print to file" is NOT selected in the print dialog.
