How to set the NUM LOCK on at boot (mac mini)
Its most convenient for us to have NUM LOCK set to "on" at boot up.
But how to do this?
I'm used to PCs where this can be pre-set in the BIOS. How to make it work with a MAC MINI?
We do have an Apple keyboard ( the slim metal wired variety with numeric keypad...)
Loki6977, welcome to the forum.
Here is something to try:
Control Panel / Power Options / Choose what the power buttons do / uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended) and reboot. This may just solve your problem.

How to get the "Num Lock" key's original status in RedHat Linux FC4 ?
I have realized it in Windows XP platform by
Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getLockingKeyState(KeyEvent.VK_NUM_LOCK),
and it works very well in Windows XP platform,
but it doesn't work in Redhat Linux FC4,
and throws UnsupportedOperationException.
Anybody can tell me whether there is any other methods
to get the "Num Lock" key's original status in Redhat Linux FC4
by jdk1.5.0_02 or later.
Any help will be greatly appreciated here in advance,
and thanks a million for your attention.Crosspost: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=687159

Does anyone know how to toggle the num lock? My number pad stopped working on my other iMac (G4), and I can't use it. When I try, the computer freezes for a couple seconds then resumes working. I can't find out where the darn num lock is.
There was a key labeled 'num lock' on the older keyboards but it never really did anything (Apart from also being the 'clear' key) I don't think as I don't think Apple ever really used Num loc (There really wasn't a need as numbers were all the keys did)
Usually when the numerics keypad stops working its because Mouse keys has been switched on somehow and the numerics pad is now being used to move the pointer.
To turn it off (Or make sure its off already) go to
'System preferences' 'Universal Access' Click on the 'Mouse' tab at the top and make sure Mouse Keys is off.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to enable num lock on the MacBook Pro 2011 (Late) in Windows 7 via Boot Camp 4.0? I have a mouse with a numpad mapping on the side of it. When I press the number keys, the cursor responds in the way one would expect it to with the num lock off (ie, 6 moves it right, 4 moves it left, etc); however, I need to use it to produce numbers.
I have read http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1220, which covers the previous MBP keyboard (on which the F6 key function was numlock), but I can't find any information regarding the possibility of doing this with the new MBP model keyboard (on which the F6 key function is increasing the keyboard backlight). Any thoughts? Suggestions?I was looking for this answer and found it on another site. I realize this is an old thread, but just in case someone else stumbles here and needs to do it, here's how to turn numlock on or off in Windows, and to make it stick:
Run Registry Editor (RegEdit)
In Windows 8 or earlier you can press Command-R, then type regedit
In Win7 or earlier, you can also just click Start menu, and type regedit in the search field.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Control Panel -> Keyboard
Within the Keyboard folder, you should have an entry named InitialKeyboardIndicators. Set the "Data" value accordingly:
0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after login
1 = Disable Num Lock
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the login
I hope this helps. -

Hi,
Good Evening,
How to set the format mask to text fields based on currencies.Hi Anil,
i am taking one method for setting the format mask to front end values
like this
public String xxformatmask(String test,String currency,OAPageContext pageContext)
String currencyFormattedNumber="";
try {
java.lang.Double num = new java.lang.Double(test);
currencyFormattedNumber = pageContext.getOANLSServices().formatCurrency(num,currency);
catch(Exception e) {
System.out.println("the exception is"+e);
return currencyFormattedNumber;
every time call this method
for text fields like this,
OAMessageTextInputBean commval=(OAMessageTextInputBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("commval");
String lesscomm=commval.getValue(pageContext).toString();
String lesscommformat=xxformatmask(lesscomm,currency,pageContext);
float lesscomm1=Float.parseFloat(lesscommformat);
i got the error at runtimeee

How to activate the number lock?
Can someone explain how to activate an Apple extended keyboard?
Hello Timothy,
Press the Num Lock key. If you have a separate numeric keypad on your keyboard, the Num Lock key is located in the numeric keypad. If you’re using a portable computer, the Num Lock is a function key, marked Num Lock (F6). If your keyboard has a separate keypad but no Num Lock key, try pressing Shift-Clear.
If the numeric keypad still doesn’t work as you expect, you may have enabled Mouse Keys, which lets you move the pointer with the keypad. To find the option that turns off Mouse Keys, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Universal Access, and then click “Mouse & Trackpad.”

I inadvertently set the rotation lock device on my i phone.
i inadvertently set the rotation lock device on my i phone.
i see on line how i am supposed to gain access to the device.
1) by tapping twice on home button/then swiping left to reveal controls
(this is not happening for me for some reason)
2) by going on settings to set side switch
(also not happening---i see no related setting)
i'm afraid whatever i did to disengage the rotation also elminated the side switch device entirely.
any thoughts?
thanks for any help...The location has changed since the installation of the new iOS. Go to the Control Center. You get there by swiping upwards from the bottom of the screen. Once you see the Control Center, the orientation lock is the on the top row, the last icon on the right. White is on, black is off.

Do you use MS Word?
If yes, then you should disable the overtype function. You can see it marked as OVR.
Double click on this shortcut and you will be able to disable this.

How to set the table input in Query template?
Hi all.
I need to call a Bapi_objcl_change, with import parameter and a table as an input. I have done this, in BLS. I have set the table input in the
form of xml. In BLS, I get the output(the value gets change in SAP R3, what i have given in BLS). But if i set the same xml structure in
query template, I didn't get the output. Table input parameter does not take that xml source. How to set the table input in Query template?
can anyone help me?
Regards,
HemalathaHema,
You probably need to XML encode the data so that it will pass properly and then xmldecode() it to set the BAPI input value.
