How to set up children usage on my computer?

how to set up children usage on my computer?

First you need to have at least 2 accounts on the computer, yours will be the admin account and each child will have a normal account. While logged in on your admin account, launch System Preferences select the Parental Controls tab. There you'll select each child account and then configure the settings you want to set.

    Thats all my poblems!!!
I used File Monitors from Sysinternals and I see, that Flash operated with C:\xalan\xercesImpl.jar (on my system), and can't find C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\META-INF\services\org.apache.xerces.xni.parser.XMLParserConfiguration  and others...

  • How to set up two iphones on same computer

I'm trying to set up a second Iphone on my computer.  When I try to download music, it has information from my first Iphone.  How do I set up a second Iphone?  I've created all the accounts I can think of but it's like it doesn't recognize my second phone.  Thanks

Your music tracks and other media are associated with your account.  If you have two phones associated with one account it thinks you want the media on both phones.
If this second phone really isn't for you, then create another account for this other person on your computer and run iTunes on that account.

It's not clear to me exactly what your problem is but it sounds like your new computer just doesn't have a WiFi network card.  Is it a desktop or laptop PC?   If a desktop, that's likely the issue...no WiFi NIC.
If that's the case, you need to either connect your PC to your FiOS router via Ethernet cable, or you need to add a WiFi card to the PC.
If I'm misunderstanding your issue, and your new machine is a laptop, can you be more specific about what steps you've taken that aren't working?  What are you looking to do with that old antenna?

  • How to set up Bluetooth with iPhone and computer

    Hi there.
I am now the proud owner of a brand new iPhone 3GS 32GB and I'm in love...
I'm trying to set it up with Bluetooth. I used to be able to "Bluetooth" files to and from my computer with other mobile devices but I have difficulties with the iPhone. It won't connect. Anybody knows what I need to do? Cheers.

The iPhone _does not_ support Bluetooth file transfer. You must use the USB cable for syncing, or there are file transfer/storage apps in the App Store (Files, File Magnet, Air Sharing, there are lots) that use Wi-Fi.
On the iPhone, Bluetooth is limited to voice calls, music streaming to stereo headphones, and tethering (using the phone as a cellular modem). Tethering requires carrier support - O2 and Orange support it, Tesco does not.

    Hi Wilmarvida,
    Wired (Ethernet) network
If you want to install your HP product over a wired (Ethernet) network, follow these steps.
IMPORTANT: You must follow these steps in the order presented .
    Step one: Check requirements
Make sure you have the following items:
One of the following types of wired access points or routers: Ethernet router, switch, hub, or wireless router with Ethernet ports
A computer that connects to the wired access point or router
A Category 5 Ethernet cable to use for the HP product. (Do not use a standard telephone cable.)
    Figure 3: Cable comparison
    1 - Ethernet cable
2 - Telephone cable (do not use)
Although an Ethernet cable looks similar to standard telephone cable, each has a different plug and a different number of wires. The plug on an Ethernet cable (also called an RJ-45 connector) is wide, thick, and always has eight wires. The plug on a telephone cable is narrower and has between two and six wires.
Step two: Change from USB connection to Ethernet connectionIf you previously installed the software for a USB connection and now want to change to an Ethernet connection, follow these instructions to remove the USB installation before continuing.
I have already installed my HP product with a USB connection and want to switch to an Ethernet connection.
On the Windows taskbar, click Start ( ), and then click Printers and Faxes . The Printers and Faxes folder opens.
Find the icon for your HP product ( ), and then right-click it.
Click Delete to remove the product.
Disconnect the USB cable from the product and the computer.
I have not already installed my HP product with a USB connection.
Continue to the next step to connect the HP product to the network.
Step three: Connect the HP printer to the network
Remove any plug or protective cover from the Ethernet port on the back of the product.
    Figure 4: Remove plug
Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the product, and then connect the other end of the cable to an available port on the wired access point or router.
Figure 5: Connect the Ethernet cable
Connect the power cord to the product, and then plug it into an electrical outlet.
    Turn the product on.
Step four: Decide whether to install with the product CD or download the software
Don’t worry if you don’t have the product CD! You can download the most current software available for your product from the HP Web site at no cost. The following information might help you decide which installation method to use:
      CD Download
    For a new product:
CD installation is a quick and easy method.
If you do not have a CD, you can download the software you need.
    For an older product:
CD installation might not work if you are installing the product on a computer running a newer operating system that released AFTER the HP product released.
Downloading the software provides the best results for your older product. Even though it takes more time than using the CD, downloading the latest software can help you avoid installation issues.
Downloading is the recommended method if your computer operating system released after the HP product released.
    About the software:
The software on the CD is current to the date of the product release.
The software that you can download from the HP Web site is the most current software available for your product. HP often updates software and drivers AFTER the product and CD release to the market.
Step five: Install the softwareWhen you are ready to begin, follow the instructions for the installation method that you want to use (CD or download). During the installation, choose the option for the network type of connection, not the USB option.
IMPORTANT: If you get any firewall messages during installation, click unblock , accept , continue , yes , allow , or permit , or the installation fails.
Method one: Download and install the software from the HP Web site
Follow these steps to download the software, and then install it.
    Step one: Download the software
Many products have more than one driver option on the downloads page. Choices might include a Basic type, and Full Feature type. If both options are available, the following information might help you decide which driver to download.
    Basic type Full Featuretype
For basic printing: This driver runs the basic print functions of your product.
For quick download: The file size is smaller than the Full Feature driver, so it is faster to download and install.
For enhanced printing: HP includes valuable software to help you get the most from your product. The software varies by product , but here are some examples:
Searchable help files tailored to your product
    Image-editing software
HP Solution Center: This important tool helps you establish settings for printing. It also helps you with product maintenance, troubleshooting, software updates, and links to buy supplies.
NOTE: During the Full Feature installation process, you can choose a custom installation, where you select the specific software items that you want to install.
HP recommends the Full Feature type of download, if available, to ensure the best support for your product.
Follow these steps to download the product software and save it to your computer.
Disconnect the USB cable from both the product and the computer (if you already connected it).
    Turn the product on.
Browse to the Get Software and Drivers page: Get Software and Drivers
Check the instructions on the page, and then click the Plus sign (+) next to the correct heading for additional instructions:
If prompted to enter your product in the window .
Type your product number in the window.
Click Next . If necessary, click your model in a list of similar products.
Click Software and Driver Downloads .
Click the drop-down arrow ( ), and then click your operating system.
    Continue to the next step.
If prompted to select your operating system .
Click the drop-down arrow ( ), and then click your operating system.
    Click Next .
    Continue to the next step.
Click the Plus sign ( ) next to Driver , and then click the driver that you want to download. If you need help deciding, see the information in the previous table.
Read through the minimum system requirements and additional instructions. You can also click View directions ( ) for complete download instructions.
    Click Download .
If the File Download Security Warning window displays, click Save , and then browse to the location on your computer where you want to save the file.
Click Save . The software downloads to your computer.
Hint: Make a note of the place that you saved the file, in case you want to install it at a later time.
    Step two: Install the software
Follow these steps to install the downloaded software.
When the download is complete and you are ready to install the files, click Open Folder , and then click the downloaded file. The file name ends in .exe .
NOTE:If you closed the Download Complete screen, browse to the folder where you saved the .exe file, and then click it.
You can accept the default place to save the files. Click Next , and then wait while the installer extracts the files to prepare for installation.
When the Install Wizard starts, follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
NOTE:If you have previously installed the software and are changing the connection type from USB to Ethernet, click Add a device when the Uninstall the software or Add a device window opens.
For a Full Feature installation, you choose what type of installation you want. The following information might help you decide which installation type to use.
    Typical (Recommended) Minimum
For full use of all your product features : HP includes valuable software to help you get the most out of your product.
HP designed this installation type to work for most users.
A custom type of installation might be available for your product. This installation allows you to install the minimum software required or the preferred software. Use this type of installation only if you have one of the following reasons:
The computer is low on hard disk space.
You attempted a recommended type of installation and received errors. (If errors occur during the recommended installation, fix them before trying a custom installation.)
The Recommended type of installation allows you to get the most out of your product.
Method two: Install the software with the product CD
During the installation, you choose what type of installation you want. The installation type names vary depending on your product. The following information might help you decide which installation type to use.
Insert the product CD into the CD drive of the computer, and then wait a few seconds for the software installer to start.
If the installer does not start automatically, follow these steps to start it:
Click Start ( ), click My Computer , and then double-click the CD drive.
NOTE:If the User Account Control screen opens, click Allow to continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions to start the installation.
If prompted to choose the type of installation, review the following information:
    Recommended type Custom type
Recommended , Full , or Easy
Custom , Express , or Advanced
For full use of all your product features : This installation provides full product functionality. HP also includes valuable software to help you get the most out of your product.
HP designed this type of installation to work for most users.
The Recommended type of installation allows you to take advantage of all your product features.
When prompted to choose a connection type, select the Network type, not the USB type. The USB cable is for the installation procedure only. (The installer prompts you when to connect and disconnect the USB cable.)
Figure 6: Choose a connection type
    Click Next .
IMPORTANT : At this point, the installer searches, but does not find the product because it is not yet connected. This is expected behavior and does not indicate a problem with the setup. Click Next again to continue with the installation.
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software.

    Hi,
Each Virtual Machine can make use of only a single processor at a time. This is by default. if you mean that you want multiple virtual CPUs assigned then you need to look at an alternative VM system such as Hyper-V.

  • How to set up a great Photoshop machine

How to set up a great Photoshop machine
From the blog of John Nack, [former?*] Photoshop Principal Program Manager
At Photoshop World this week, performance testing lead Adam Jerugim
presented a performance guide with hardware recommendations and
information about the CS5 performance preferences.  I’ve put his notes
    in this post’s extended entry.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2010/09/how-to-set-up-a-great-photoshop-machine.html#more-271 2
Operating Systems: Mac OS 10.6.4 and Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7/Xeon or AMD Phenom II/Opteron with 4 cores. More than 4 cores gives diminishing returns.
RAM: Enough to keep Efficiency readout at  100%. If Efficiency is low (<95%), adding RAM will provide biggest  benefit. 4GB will cover most digital photography uses. 8GB leaves room  for other apps and fits huge documents in RAM.
Video Card: Any modern card with at least 512MB VRAM; 1GB if doing heavy 3D work.
Disk: Use a separate disk for Photoshop  scratch. If you spend a lot of time opening / saving large data  files, another separate disk for data files will speed that up. Faster  disks are better. RAID0 is faster. SSD is faster yet. RAID0 of SSDs is  fastest but super expensive. If you have plenty of RAM (meaning your  Efficiency readout is 95% or more), separate/faster disks for scratch  provide minimal benefit. If Efficiency readout is low, a separate SSD  for Photoshop scratch will be a big win. SSD boot volume will speed  booting and app launch, but not Photoshop operations.
Memory Usage: this should be no higher than  70% on systems running 32bit Photoshop or with less than 4GB of total  physical RAM. On systems with 8GB or more, use 70% if you plan on  running other applications at the same time as PS, or higher (up to 90%)  if you only plan on using PS on your system.
Efficiency %: can be found in the document window drop-down options. Operations fit in RAM when this 95% or greater.
History & Cache: if you work with small  documents with lots of layers, start with the Tall and Thin  button (which will set cache levels = 2, tile size = 128K/132K). If you  work with large documents with few layers, try the Big and Flat button  (which will set cache levels = 6, tile size = 1024K/1028K). Using more  history states uses more scratch disk space.  More history states may  also use more RAM, particularly when running actions or scripts on  large documents. If you see Efficiency drop below 95%, especially after  running actions, try reducing history states or adding RAM.
Scratch Disks: a separate drive for Photoshop  scratch disk will avoid slowdowns from Photoshop and the OS trying  to access the disk at the same time. If your Efficiency number often  drops below 95%, the gain can be large. Faster disks are better. A RAID0  array is faster, an SSD faster still. If using a RAID or SSD, try  setting the Tile Size to 1024K – AMD CPUs prefer 132K / 1028K sizes, but  128K and especially 1024K are more efficient for RAID and SSD use  regardless of CPU type.
GPU Settings: you can change GPU settings by  clicking on the Advanced Settings button. For more more modern  video cards there will be three options: Basic, Normal, Advanced.  Changes to this setting will only take effect after PS restart, and  would be worth experimenting with if painting performance is sluggish.

  • How to set up ipad for elderly user

I want some ideas for setting up an iPad for my 89 year old father who has never used a computer and has some visual impairment. The only thing he wants to do is listen to audiobooks. I want the titles of the books to be no more than one click away from the desktop. I want him to be able to control the stop/start and volume with a clearly laid out dialog box on the desktop. Help please...

    Hi,
I have been looking into this subject. We are buying my father-in law an ipad for his 91st birthday in two weeks. He had unsuccessful surgery for a detached retina a couple of years ago and so has vision (not too good) in only one eye. When we were researching how and if he'd benefit from an ipad (which he wants) we weren't sure, but then I read about VoiceOver that is built into every ipad. We're all very excited about it.
    http://www.apple.com/accessibility/ipad/vision.html
Because you said they have a desktop, they can also set up Home Sharing between their desktop and the ipad if they have a wireless connection. If not, they just need an inexpensive wireless router and a little help setting it up. We're getting a $40 ish Netgear for him that we paid $80.00 for two years ago. They're practicall plug an play and need only cable modem box, which most have these days.
Your father/parents will be able to do more than listen to audio books. With an ipad he can do a lot more. He'll be able to read and hear newspapers, magazines, etc. There are many games/apps that he can buy that can exercise his brain. They will speak to him! Some months ago there was a thread that went on and on about how nurses/family membes who were finding that their senior parents/patients (some with Alheimer's) became more alert when working with someone on the ipad. It was encouraging. IF he has netflix he can watch movies on it. Your music might be on your computers from cd's. If they have music cd's at home, you can quickly upload them to their computer, put them in itunes, and sync them to the ipad, too.
VoiceOver will help with so many other things that are explained in the link I gave you earlier.
Please also check out you tube videos for using VoiceOver in the ipad. The setting up and usage videos are very good and many examples are given by blind people. (Seeing how VoiceOver even reads the apps that might be on the front page as fingers glide over them is great.)
Also, I'm not sure where you live. Many libraries have free e-books with or without audio that your parents can take out. I learned last week from someone looking for the same, that if you're in Canada there is something called CNIB where people with vision problems can get all the e-books they want. You might want to google it and see where you can get free -ebooks for your parents. Audio books can be expensive. The thread below
Please go to the link above and then check out you tube.
I wish my 86 year old Mom (vision is good) would use an ipad.
    I hope this helps.
