How to set up e-mail in Mavericks?

I have been having random problems with Mail since I switched to 10.9
The problem seems to be mainly with outgoing mail. Her are the errors I get:

I think that I might like to completely wipe out all my Mail settings and re-start. How do I do that under 10.9? I have been to the support page that shows this procedure for previous OS versions, but it does not cover Mavericks. Anyone help?

You'll see this type of message when your mail account is on a shared server, and the SSL certificate is issued by a third party. Because Rogers and Yahoo! are partners, it makes sense that a Rogers address is served through Yahoo!.
Just check the Always trust... box at the top, and you'll be fine. (You might also open the Trust disclosure at the bottom to make sure Always Trust is checked in the hidden fields.)

If you want to move your mailservice to your own (internal) server, start by making sure you can recieve traffic on port TCP 25 (SMTP). Some ISPs blocks this port, especially on "non business" connections.

Depending on your email provider, most of them have instructions how to setup in Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook. The instructions/settings are the same for the iPhone.
Others, like Gmail and AOL have built-in setup guides in the iPhone.
Who is your email provider? The first step is to visit their web site and look under their support section for the appropriate email settings.

First, I would suggest using Mail->Mailbox->Export to back up your mail.
Quit Mail
Then, to set-up Mail clean, delete
      ~/Library/Mail Downloads/
      ~/Library/Mail/
      ~/Containers/com.apple.mail/
     (all previous preferences and mail will be gone)
Open Mail
You will be prompted to set up Mail.
To re-install the Mail App, you need to re-install Mavericks (hold ⌘R on boot)

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

How to set up domain mail forwarding

Greeting gurus.
I am a BT Business Broadband custome and BT also host my domain.
I am terminating my Boradband service next week but the domain is not for renewal until 2012.
I have trying to find how to set up mail forwarding for the domain.
I would like all mail addressed to [email protected] -> [email protected]
Replies can then be sent from the appropriate domain.
The reason is that mydomain.com is effectively being mothballed, but I wish to ensure that any mail does not just get lost.
I am on the support line but wanted to know if anyone can help me quicker.

I've not hosted a domain with BT, but all the other domain registration/hosting companies I've used have a browser based control panel where these things are configured.
You say the domain is being mothballed. You'll have to continue with the registration though, and BT claim to offer email with all domain registrations, so why not just carry on as you are ?

Mail Plus customer ($20 per year in the U.S.), which gives you the ability to send and receive Yahoo! mail using an email program, or does your country require this service to be free of charge? If the former is required, you can't do it; you would need to use a different, free service such as Gmail.
If the latter is true (that Scotland requires Yahoo! to provide this service free), then you can find the information you need in Yahoo!'s Help pages for setting up POP email with a variety of email programs.

How to set-up voice mail to email on Unity Connection 8.6

Hi all,
I need to set-up voice mail to email notification on a Unity Connection 8.6 MCS78XX server. I've read several existing threads related to the subject, but have had somewhat of a difficult time finding a posting that provided a simplified approach with either or both of the options listed below. I'm hoping and asking to receive a response (or responses) that will break it down.
The intent is to either:
A) Have new voice mail messages sent to end-user's e-mail inboxes as .wav files.
B) Have notifications be e-mailed to end-user's inboxes whenever there is a new voice mail.
Cisco Unity Single Inbox is not the preferred method at this point.

Manish, if I may... I read the 2nd thread and it mentions the addition of the Exchange IP address under the smart host field... and it appears that the Exchange will also need the IP address of the Unity Connection server for relay...
question: under the Unity SMTP config options --> Server --> SMTP Domain --> can/should this be changed over to the Unity's IP address in an environment where the Unity Server's name is not resolvable? The Unity Server in this case is not configured with DNS... please advise

How to set up junk mail filtering in mac mail

Is there a new way to set up junk mail filtering? I have been getting an increased amount of junk mail which the filter seems to allow through. Also, when I select emails and mark them as junk, when I delete them, they "reappear" still marked as junk. Really weird. But I will have to delete them several times for them to disappear out of my IN box. Not sure if this is due to a string of them coming in at once.
any advice out there?
