How do I se up my Epson 4540 printer to accept iPad command to print?

Check with Epson support for an updated printer driver that you can download and install that will enable AirPrint.
A new driver was made available by Epson just a few weeks ago. Even you bought the printer new recently, it likely does not have the latest printer driver installed.

Read the user manual that came w/the printer/scanner, contact Epson to see if you need to update your scanner drivers to work in Mavericks also check Software Update. Check out the following links:

How to set flex builder profiler for AIR apps ?

Hi everybody !
I am trying to profile my AIR app but I can't run the profiler....
For flex app (in web browser) profiler works fine, for my AIR app, debug works but profiler just display 'socket timeout'.
I also try to profile my air app as an external application profiler start but crash saying NativeWindow not found (like AIR sdk was not found...)
SO How I can't set my AIR player or my profiler to work ???

1. create a batch file to launch your 'desktop' app - the batch file should set the proper environment (JAVA_HOME,, path, etc)
2. create a small wrapper application that is launched by Java web start.
3. the wrapper app will do nothing more use ProcessBuilder to execute the batch file you created which will then launch the app
That way Java web start can use 1.7 to launch the wrapper app but the batch file will set the environment to 1.5 for the other app.

How to set up EPSON Scan 3.07 to work in Adobe Photoshop CS6 Import window in Mac OS 10.9.4 Mavericks

Photoshop CS6 will not allow me to scan pictures with my EPSON Perfection 2480 PHOTO scanner like it did when I used Photoshop CS2. Although I downloaded the newest driver (EPSON Scan 3.07A), and placed it's plugin directly into Photoshop CS6 Plug-ins Folder, it is still not showing up in the Import/ Import Images from Device menu option. Is there a way to get this to work? Granted, I am able to use EPSON Scan outside of Photoshop, but I'd rather just scan while in Photoshop CS6. (I am using on a Mac using OS X version 10.9.4 Mavericks.)

More than likely your Twain driver is 32-bit and Photoshop CS6 is pure 64-bit. So you should look at the ideas in this article.

You can also download the drivers (software) from the Epson site here.
The drivers on the disc may not be up to date, so downloading from Espon assures you have the lastest driver version.
Once the drivers are installed, open System Preferences > Print & Scan then select the Print tab.
Click + to add a new printer and follow the instructions.

How to set two Star's TSP100 receipt printer on the same mac ?

For my restaurant I use a FileMaker homemade software that can use two ticket printers of the same type (Star's TSP100 receipt printer).
One is set as "Kitchen" in the underground kitchen and the other as "Desk" in the main floor.
Software must prints orders for kitchen on the correct printer and other receipts on the other printer. It uses Applescripts command to switch printer before printing.
Sometimes the two printers are switched and reports are printed on the bad printers.
Software is working correctly, orders for kitchen are always printed on the same printer and other receipts are also printed on the other printer. When printers switch, the kitchen receive receipts for desk and orders for kitchen are printed on the desk printer.
How can I fix the two printers to be sure that every orders and receipt are printed on the correct printer.

Let me first say I have never tried to do that...
I believe this is completely about the driver. 1 driver can only correctly identify one printer in print & scan prefs. I think you need separate drivers and separate ways to identify each printer. Like - another copy of the driver with different named file(s); and a printer utility that allows you to change printer name.
For Epsons the USB setup includes the Serial number - which allows the driver to differentiate. Does your driver do that? Maybe there is an alternate driver you can use for one of the printers? Check out the free Gutenprint driver. Search for gutenprint mac.

How can I set the HP Envy to Fast Economical Printing?

If you want to make fast draft the default go to the Devices and Printers folder, right click on the Envy printer, Printing Preferences, select Fast/Economical printing, Apply, OK.
You may also want to default to black ink only. In Windows 8 the Envy series printer can be set to print in black ink only by default as follows: go to the Devices and Printers folder, right click on the Envy printer, Printing Preferences, Paper/Quality, Advanced, Print in Grayscale, Black Ink Only, OK.
Note that some color ink will still be used even in "black ink only" mode to keep the printhead from clogging, see the document here for information on how ink is used.
There a few other considerations to minimize ink usage:
Always keep the printer plugged into a live outlet. If an outlet switch or other external switch is used to turn off the power to the printer mode ink will be used at startup.
Do not run cleaning cycles from the toolbox or printer's front panel unless necessary. It is rare to ever need to do a user initiated cleaning cycle, the printer should take care of this on its own when needed.

I've been trying to make HP Laserjet 1220 work with Mac, it works in Windows 2000, but when i downloaded the universal/binary driver at HP website the printer is not working, so i decided to attached my old printer server :(( and i dont know how to do it, the belkin server could actually communicate with MAc since it printed an information about IP addresses...
Also, there anyway that i cold get teh proper printer driver for HP laserjet 1220?

Sorry but I am a bit of a network novice. In all the literature from apple re timecapsule setup it shows that you connect Lan from modem to Wan on Timecapsule. Why do you suggest connecting Lan to Lan? Can I not disable router function of Belkin modem and use Timecapsule as router?

HP just released a firmware update for my mp1212nf, which does not have wifi. What would be the step by step process t getting AirPrint going. I am using a comcast business class router, so the airport is in bridge mode. I cannot get the printer to obtain an ip address when it is hooked directly to the airport router and am wondering if it's the printer or the airport, because I've never used an airport in bridge mode and don't know if this setting prevents wired clients from joining the network.

I understand your emails are printing in landscape. If the issue is only when printing emails, there may be a setting within your email settings to change the print settings.
If all of your programs are printing in landscape, check the print settings on your computer.
