How to set up wifi hotspot connectivity

I have an old laptop that was upgraded from XP to Vista Business. It runs OK but is very slow. I have Fios wireless at home and it connects fine, but the In-house Agent won't run properly (blank pages for the Internet & Phone sections...Chat tech was unhelpful). My question is: how can I set up the hotspot connectivity without having to use the worse-than-useless In-house agent?

Droid has it's own app, and boingo is what Verizon uses - so you can safely download boingo and then when it asks for your login, you put your VZ log in info.
you DO have to create a seperate WIFI log in though, So you should go to www.verizon.net/
Hover over my verizon and then select VIEW all from the my services menu > then select internet on the left hand side menu > then select manage under the verizon wifi section.
Manage gives you two options
Find Wifi Hotspots
WiFI how to demos
Select Wifi how to demos and then click and follow the registration link
when you get there, it wants you to sign in, you sign in with your main account, and then you go through the Wi-fi registration steps to make a Verizon WIFI username
these are going to be seperate usernames, one used for your account and online access, you already have this one
and the next is one specifically for wifi hotspot access, you are creating this one (if you haven't already done so)

Thanks for replying. I did what you said. Restored from iTunes. Then set up as new iPhone. No luck. Still can't connect to my time capsule network. Before I restored, I backed up her iPhone to computer, I'm going to restore from back up if possible because my wife had a bunch of stuff on her phone. I hope for my sake I can get it back. Also, it's really weird because her phone was working fine with my airport express network. I replaced the AE with the time capsule and now it doesn't work.

I have had my BBTorch 9800 OS6 over a year now which is a fantastic phone which compliments any work I undertake, as I do use my phone as a modem.
I find that at times I may have to text but this puts pressure on the connection plugs, when connected to the PC.
I have been trying to find a BB App which contains a WiFi Hotspot connector, one where I do not have to put pressure of the components of both my BB phone and PC.
I understand the Torch 9810 carries this application as standard, can this application be installed on the Torch 9800 but also found in our BlackBerry App World.
Any info concerning this will be much appreciated.

The hotspot function is limited to 1) your carrier allowing such and 2) having OS 7.1 on your BB. HotSpot is not an add-on app available via any means other than meeting those two contingencies.

How to set up a hotspot

Hi,
Using Network Manager, I can set up a hotspot while using wired connection. However, is it possible to set up a hotspot using a wireless connection? It seems OK for Windows.

The problem is that the page includes do not has on the request object the same attributes of the calling page. for example the page authentication.jsp page has on self request object the attributes "org.apache.struts.message", but the page includes drop this attribute on the request object. In other words the page includes does not inherit the request attributes of the calling page.
How to do to resolve this problem.

Please have a look at this.
What you are doing is creating a new http request using a url connection!! That's why the request attributes does not show up, it's not the same request!
If you want to include the response of another resource, use a request dispatcher to include it. Eg.

How to get Xfinity WIFI to connect with Droid Razor

Since my Droid web browsing ability became basically non functional w/ in the past couple of weeks for no apparent reason, I decided to
try to connect to home Xfinity WIFI. I use the WPS PIN from my XFINITY router for many devices w/ no problem. My droid displays my home WIFI as "HOME6c6c secured w/ wpa/wpa2 (WPS Available).' I enter my XFINITY WPS PIN, when prompted on my droid, but I receive an error message. Is there a setting to change to WPS on the DROID? Any help is appreciated. Is there a known problem w/ XFINITY / VERIZON Droid compatibility?

While I don't have the Razor, I use Comcast Xfinity and wifi to connect our Android and iPhones without an issue.
When you go into settings for wifi, before selecting any specific connection, tap the settings, and there you should see some options for WPS settings.
For advanced settings, select Show advanced options (enabled when a check mark is present).
Ensure additional settings (e.g. WPS, Proxy settings, IP Settings, etc.) are configured appropriately (if applicable) then selectSave.

When we do XCM setting for IPC JCO connect, we input the server address directly in 'ashost', such as ashost = dga107.ndpaper.com. However, for CRM server, we have two instance, 107 and 108. Does that mean JCO user will only logon instance 107? Does that mean order will only creat in 107, no order in 108? can we have do some some settings to enable a group logon for the JCO user?
i noticed for base config, there is 'group connect' in dropdown list,how can i config XCM in the group way? is there any instruction?

I'm pretty sure there is a way but I can't check it right now.
We have such systems where this is set the way you would like it to be, but those are connected to a CUA (central user administration) so the possibility
does exist for regular Dialog users.
Unless it is valid for all users in the systems (which is very likely) that way only admin's in the CUA have authorization to change the password and synchronize it.
Service users is indeed what you are looking and most likely the best solution.

1. Please make sure that you are able to ping to the cable modem by setting both IP of both cable modem and system in the same range.
Hint: Please read the catalog come with cable modem to find default IP and change the System IP to the same range.
Normally the IP will be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
2. Access the cable modem through browser with the URL http://192.168.50.50 and make necessary changes.
2. Set the DNS in your system by editing /etc/resolv.conf. touch if it is not there.
3. Set the proxy in your browser if ISP have.
3. Then reboot the system.

It's part of the cellular settings, and is usually set up by your 3G provider. You can't choose your own proxy server

How to create adhoc Wifi Hotspot with iPhone to connect Apple TV for Mirroring and Airplay?

I don't want to use my iPhone to share or tether my iPad or laptop etc. with my cellular data plan.
What I want is to create a hotspot with my iPhone (or iPad) so that I may connect my Apple TV to the adhoc network so I am able to stream video and music from my iPhone to the Apple TV.
I do presentations in front of live audiences and want the ability to mirror my iPad or use Airplay to stream video and photos to the Apple TV without connecting to a public WiFi network.
The apple TV is so small, I just tuck it into my bag with an HDMI cable and I am able to tap into LCD projectors and flat screens and use keynote or video from my iPad so my audiences can see my presentations.
Seems pretty simple. But I cannot activate a hot spot on my iPhone without signing up for AT&T's service. Fact is, I have no need to tether my iPhone or iPad, I just want to create an adhoc Wifi network solely for the use of my Apple TV.
I posted this question to the iPhone discussions as well, but thought someone here has wanted to do the same thing.
Someone suggested just bringing any WiFi router and connecting devices to that. But that's not a solution. It's about mobility and simplicity and not creating a larger footprint.

I am a presenter and I do what you want to do. I use an apple tv as the presentation device that connects to the projector. The thing that makes it all work together is the Apple Airport Express $99 and looks just like the APple TV but white: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC414LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0Mg
Basically you define a wireless network ahead of time (using your iPad or iPhone and the Airport Config App) and let your iDevices connect to it and know the details ahead of time (so they will auto connect later).
You have a couple of options of connecting the airport express to the apple tv. I basically stacked them and used an ethernet cable but you can define the wireless connection also. I then strapped them to the projector (which I travel with) and used an HDMI cable from the apple TV to the projector.
Sometimes I present from my iPad...sometimes I present from my iPhone. Sometimes I present from my iPad but use the remote app on the iPhone to see the next screen. Now with Mountain Lion you could even present with a Macbook Pro (not needed though)
Wanna hear the coolest thing? When I want to demo something on the iPad instead of just showing the screen remotely using Airplay I use an App on the iPhone called Air Camera directed down at my iPad screen. The Air Camera sends the video to the Apple TV using Airplay and people are able to see my taps by seeing my fingers.
Another cool thing in a classroom setting with other iPads you are able to let people know your Wifi password and then display their iPad screen up on a projector to ask a question about something or demo something.
So for the extra $99 dolars for the Airport Express and a few minutes setting it up, wammo you have it!
One last note. If you actually do have wired internet at the podium you can connect it to the WAN port of the Airport express and all your iDevices would in addition have internet access. If you need internet access for all the devices and you are presenting in a place without internet then you have to bring a wireless hotspot in place of the airport express. This works equally well (again just setup the connection from the iDevices to the wireless hotspot ahead of time)
