How to set up Yahoo Mail on ICS?

I'm using Neo V with stock ICS.
I wanted to use the default Email app to view my yahoo mails.
But whenever i try to sign in it shows this error
(SSL handshake aborted: ssl=0x626180: error during system call, Connection reset by peer)
And i dont know how to setup manually.
I remember when using Gingerbread I could use Yahoo mail without any errors. It was working flawlessly. I just had to sign in.
Now on ICS I can only use gmail but not Yahoo mail.
If anybody has faced the same issue or not, a reply would be helpful. Thank you all.
Neo V stock ICS 4.0.3 un-rooted

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if this is a change in the software or if it's 'just' your phone's software you needs a repair.
Try to install a new email client and see if it works. K-9 Mail is a good one. Have a look at that app and see how it plays out and then let me know.

  • Here's how to set up Yahoo POP mail with instant "PUSH" functionality

Originally I used iTunes to sync and dump my POP mail settings into the iPhone during my first sync after activation.
DON'T do it this way and if you did delete that account from the iPhone and then go into the Mail settings on the iPhone and set up the mail settings under the "Add Account" feature. The top selection is Yahoo. It will simply ask you for the mail username and password. Once you complete this you will now have the greatly useful and most desired instan "PUSH" mail promised in conjunction with AT&T, Yahoo and Apple. A great thing.
All other POP mail settings are set to simply check your email every 15, 30, 45 etc minutes. This is no fun.
Once I reset the iPhone and set up the new account email is instant and you get the beloved "bing" alert as the come in.

I was able to get this to work and push email works with my Yahoo account. Unfortunately, the iPhone mail does not respect the 'reply-to' setting for yahoo mail.
When I send mail from Yahoo mail on the web, the reply-to address makes it look like the mail is coming from my standard business account.
But when I send mail from my iPhone, the "@yahoo.com" email address is all that shows up in the outgoing message!
I don't like this because I would prefer that all the email I send has the same reply-to address, so my recipients don't get confused.
Is there a workaround or fix for this?

  • How do I set up yahoo mail on my iPad?

I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4S.  I set up yahoo mail on both and have never had an issue.  I recently got an iPad Mini.  I've attempted to set up yahoo mail with the same settings I have on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.  After several weeks and countless attempts, it still doesn't work.  What's the secret?

From your home screen tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then select Yahoo.

  • Setting Up Yahoo Mail on Mac email

Hi..i just got a mac and i am wondering how i set up my mail to recieve my mail from my yahoo account. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No, the only mail accounts available from Apple are the the .Mac accounts and that's about $100 a year, but includes everything available on .Mac.
You can set up the account that your ISP usually provides with your internet account with Mail.app. From inside Mail.app you can access the Mail Help in the Help Menu that can guide you through setting up email accounts to access with Mail.app

  • How to set up a mail server with a private DNS and relay over a public mail

How to set up the mail server that we can send and pick up emails inside and outside?
Our private network has the DNS name dnsname1.private.
We have our privat DNS Server and he can forward requests to outside over our router.
Our public emails are hosted by an internet provider. This dns name is dnsname2.com and dnsname2.org.
How we have to set up our mail server that we can pick up our emails from our public dnsname2.com?
And when we write an email how we have to set up it that the dnsname is dansname2.com and not dnsname1.private?

If you want to move your mailservice to your own (internal) server, start by making sure you can recieve traffic on port TCP 25 (SMTP). Some ISPs blocks this port, especially on "non business" connections.
Can you send mail from your LAN directly to where your mail is hosted using port 25 TCP or do you have to relay via your ISP?
You have a static public IP?

  • Is there someplace I can learn how to set up e-mail?

I am not very technical, and have just got the new i-phone 3G, Is there any place where there are step by step easy instructions on how to set up e-mail? Thanks

Depending on your email provider, most of them have instructions how to setup in Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook. The instructions/settings are the same for the iPhone.
Others, like Gmail and AOL have built-in setup guides in the iPhone.
Who is your email provider? The first step is to visit their web site and look under their support section for the appropriate email settings.
