Right-click the WINDOWS desktop, choose New->Microsoft Data Link. That will bring up a dialog that allows you to configure and test your database connection. You might connect to the Access database via ODBC or directly via Jet Engine. The Jet Enginge saves you the trouble of creating an ODBC connection on your PC. After you leave the dialog, the "data link" will show up on your desktop as text file. Open it and copy-paste the connection string to your VI.
This webpage is an excellent resource for connection strings: http://www.able-consulting.com/ADO_Conn.htm
If your application requires users to change the database connection at runtime, you can also include the dialog via ActiveX (MSDASC.IDataSourceLocator).

  • Anyone knows how to set VPN on iPhone?

    Hi everybody!
Does anybody know how to set VPN on iPhone?
    Mine is iPhone 5.
    Thanks,
    Yohanes

Actually, it's quite simple (I assume that you're on iOS 7 or above).
    1. Go to 'Settings' -> 'General' -> 'VPN'
    2. Click the 'Add VPN Configuration' tab
    3. You can ask your admin of which settings to use
However, if you'd like to use a simpler method, follow this one.
    1. Go to 'App Store'
    2. Click the 'Search' icon, so that the search textbox is displayed
    3. Type in 'OpenVPN' and perform the app search
    4. Download the 'OpenVPN' app (because it's free, duh!)
    5. After you've successfully downloaded 'OpenVPN', open your Safari browser.
    6. Open this website address (www.vpngate.net)
    7. Select the country you'd like to use as your VPN setting
    8. Select the desired settings and click the 'Open in OpenVPN' link.
    9. The 'OpenVPN' app will be opened automatically.
    10. Click the '+' button to install the VPN setting.
    11. After the VPN setting is installed, switch the 'OFF' button to 'ON'
    12. If it's connected, then your VPN is ready to go
    Hope that works, enjoy!

  • How to set resource connection factory?

How to set resource connection factory if JMS is upported through JNDI?

    Hi,
The Simplest Way to Load a Property file (Which is outside of your Application) ..is.
Just Place the Property file in the Server Classpath...or in the "C:\bea103\user_projects\domains\7001_Domain\lib" folder of your Domain. It means somehow the Property file should be available in the Server Classpath...
Now Please write the following code in your Application to read the Property file:
    java.util.Properties prop = new java.util.Properties();
    java.io.InputStream stream=this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(“my.properties”);
    prop.load(stream);
    String hostProperty = p.getProperty(“host.name”);

  • How do I stop users from using the standard inbuilt VPN connection in Windows

We have a UAG Portal setup to check the security of users computers etc then if it is all correct they are presented with the log in and once logged in the are connected to the corpirate network via a SSTP connection.  The all works fine but the issue
I have is users can bypass all the checking but just going into network connections on their local computer and creating a SSTP VPN connection, like on this webpage http://blogs.technet.com/b/tugait/archive/2011/10/12/how-to-publish-a-vpn-sstp-using-your-uag-in-a-https-trunk.aspx
Any idea how to stop users being able to do this and forcing them to use Internet Explorer?

Found my answer on this page  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee809077.aspx
"To enforce Forefront UAG portal authentication, do not set users dial-in properties to Allow

  • Vpn connection droppes Windows 8.1 Enterprise

    Hi.
I've an issue related VPN connection.
I've setup PPTP connection like this:
    Windows 8.1 Ent. ->Wi-Fi -> Dlink DIR-300 -> Ericsson GPON -> FC -> ISP -> Ericsson GPON -> Dlink DSR 500N
After few minutes i connect to the DSR 500N over VPN PPTP, the connection is dropping. Mostly it seems when I'm starting the RDP connection. After this I can normally connect again, but there is another problem, I should delete the ROUTE and Add it again
to have an access in network on another side.
Before this I've the Windows 7 Enterprise on the same computer, and haven't seen any problem like this.
Can you explain me how can I fix it?

    Hi!
In this case I would download Fiddler and start it just before you connect to the VPN.
This will show you an exact log of what is happening and why it's happening, the instant it happens.
You can download Fiddler from this site: http://www.telerik.com/fiddler
The log will be clear and it's not as advanced as it might look when you first start it :)
    Best regards

  • How To Increase TCP Connections in Windows 2012 Server

We have installed our Java application in Windows 2012 Server. After running for some time application started showing Connection Time out. We have set TCP Parameters MaxUserPort = 65534 and TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30.
We are facing the same issue, even after setting the parameters in windows registry. We have verified in our application, "There is no connection pool issue and no thread issue".
We are using JDK v6.0.29, Tomcat 7, MYSQL 5.5.
Apart from MaxUserPort and TcpTimedWaitDelay is there any other TCP parameters in Windows 2012 to improve performance of the server and our application.
    2) At the same time we have found that ‘There is sluggishness in I/O process’. Is there any registry parameters to improve I/O performance in the system.
    Thank You.

  • How to access VPN Connection properties in Win 8.1

    Win 8.1 pro 64 bit
I setup a VPN connection to my company host server. When I try to connect, I get no EAP protocol installed on the Win 8.1 system. I googled and it said to open VPN properties (like I have done before); however, I cannot find the open VPN properties function.
I right click on the VPN and it does nothing. It did work in win8. How do I get to VPN properties to add EAP to the VPN connection?
    THX
    John Lenz

To access to your VPN properties you should navigate to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections. From there, you will see all of your network connections, including any existing VPN connections. If you right click on the VPN connection
in question, you will see "properties" listed at the bottom of the list and EAP settings can be modified under the security tab.  Let me know if you have trouble.

  • SMB and VPN connected to Windows Server 2003

I have search the web for an answer on this problem, I've only found peoble with same problem, but still no solution :o/
I wan't to connect to my office (windows2003) from my OSX 10.4.2 at home. I've set up an VPN connection and can PING the server (and others) on the network. Works fine.
When I connect to the server via SMB://server/ I get a list with all different folders (or servers) I can connect to but I get rejected with the answer Bad name or password. Now to the funny part; I can connect in the Terminal using smbclient with the same user and pwd just rejected in Finder!!!
I've read about this problem on http://www.macwindows.com/tiger.html#052305a but I can't find a solution. Someone mentioned a bug with apple number #4108992 - Can anyone tell me where I can read about that? Or better - Where I can find a solution. (I've tried to erase keychain)

My school sets up our network disk space with access via FTP. I don't know if that is an option through your company. While I have to download files to work with them and then upload them again to the network space to access them at work, it does allow me to look at the directory structure. I use an FTP client (not the one built into OS X). This might be an option for you to check on with your IT department. (This also eliminates my need to use VPN.)
    Hope this helps.

  • How to allow VPN connection on iPhone while connected to home Wireless?

    Hello there,
I recently setup a VPN on my phone to connect to the internet.  However I'm having issues with my wiresless modem I think.  I can connect to the internet via VPN on my phone when I'm on 4G network.  But when I connect to Wireless at home it doesn't coonnect and fails everytime.
Can someone please help me figure out how to get this working?  I have a Motorola Surfboard SB6121.  Manual is here: http://www.arrisi.com/modems/datasheet/SB6121/SB6121_Installation_Guide.pdf
Thought, suggestions, comments?  I'm open to ideas to get this to work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lorne

    Goto http://www.speedtest.net/
Run it and see what your throughput is (VPNs require a certain level of bandwidth)
Look for the IP address in the lower left 22.33.55.99 (this is just an example)
The name of your ISP is usually underneath it.
When at-home, you can use OpenDNS which is free and probably has the same effectiveness as pageclean.

But all that brings up a question, why are you giving an iPhone to kids?

  • How to set up connection for directv receiver, TV, and home theater system?

Can some one please show me the CORRECT way to connect my Directv receiver (it has no HDMI), Panasonic Viera HDTV (has 3 HDMIs) and my Samsung home theater HT-Z510 (has 1 HDMI)? The second question is with the set up that you advise, can I play the TV sound through my home theater speakers? and How do I do that each time I want to listen the TV sound through my home theater speakers? I am new and confused about all this so please provide or explain step by step please. Thanks in advance.

Making sense of your connections on a message board is never easy. Hopefully you can piece this information together.
Direct TV box to Panasonic TV using S-video cable....assuming it's standard definition. Component video if the box is HD. Run standard stereo RCA cables to the appropriate input for sound threw the TV speakers.
Your Panasonic TV will have a set of stereo(left/white,right/red) outputs. Run cable from that output into the same inputs on the Samsung surround unit. Use the sound units effects to acheive simulated surround. This is assuming you have no digital outputs on your box. If you do, you'll be able to get 5.1 when available using a digital connection.
    Good luck.

  • How to set a fixed size window, so that moving 2D pictures wouldnt go off?

    Hi
I dont if this question has been asked or no & also not sure if its right to be posted here as my problem is a java 2D graphics problem in swing environment.
I want to know is how can i set the window to a fixed size with boundaries such that my graphics 2D picture in the swing window will not go off the edges of window when i do some transformations with the 2D picture.
    For e.g:
so far ive got a frame window of size 350 by 350 with my 2D picture inside it made up of shapes etc...
when i apply some transformation to it (moving it) for a distance it goes disappeared off window beyond 350 and will come back if i move it back.
So how do i restrict the window so that when picture reaches the edge, it will not be able to move any further?
Do i set some specific bounds to the JFrame?
i hope i've explained it properly
    Thanks

In a 2D coordinate system the horizontal values are represented by some letter, usually x. In the same coordinate system the vertical values are classically represented by y.
Note: In your code, if you wish, you can replace x and y with anything you desire--p and q or perhaps jeff and alice or any variable name you wish, but for simplicity, and usually ease of understanding because almost everyone has had 100's of math problems drilled into their head with (x, y), x and y are used as convention.
In Java the screen coordinates run from 0 to the width-1 for x and 0 to height-1 for y of the component you are using to display.
So logically when you have a value of x or y that goes beyond the addressable bounds of your display, then you have to make some type of adjustment--when your value dips below 0, you reset it to 0, when your value goes above what ever width-1 or height-1 then you have to set that value to width-1 or height-1.
This all assumes that when you hit the wall, floor, or ceiling you stick there until you change directions--if you wish to wrap then you set your value to the opposite bound--so if you go below 0, you would then pop out back in on the right side--your appropriate x would be set to width-1 instead of 0 and in the case of y going below 0 your y would be set to height-1. This is also to say that when you descend below your minimum, then you would pop back out on the opposite side you went out on--so x greater then width-1 would get set to 0 and y greater than height-1 would get set to 0.
That is not even a start on if you want to include elastic collisions, angle of impact, any type of deceleration force, or anything else.
In any case... I would recommend that you add more math to your studies, I've never met an engineer or computer science grad that said: "Wow, I really regret taking all that math in college (or HS), I never use it."
