How to setup and auxiliary database

Hi Everyone,
i studied the documentation to create duplicate db, i understand the steps, only one thing is not cleared in my mind that how to create a auxiliary db. should i create a new database through database creation wizard, then modify the parameter file, but it will create control files too.
Please clear my mind about this confusion.

Hi,
The RMAN DUPLICATE command to create a duplicate database from target database backups while still retaining the original target database. To prepare for database duplication, you must first create an auxiliary instance.
Creating an auxillary instance here just means setting up the correct init.ora parameters. You should not create the database using the creation wizard. For the duplication to work, you must connect RMAN to both the target (primary) database and an auxiliary instance started in NOMOUNT mode. The DUPLICATE command creates the control files by using the names listed in the
initialization parameter file of the auxiliary instance. When choosing names for the duplicate database control files, make sure that you set the initialization parameter
settings correctly so that you do not overwrite the production files at the target database.

Got new miniMac servers with 2x750GB drives. How to setup and confirm RAID mirror?

Literally just got shiny new miniMac Server with the dual 70GB internakky hard drives/disks with
OS X 10.7.$ LION pre-installed. What a nice machine in a super cool box!
Seemed to bootup and run fine!
Now my issue (there will be more for this MAC newbie):
A. How to setup AND more importantly (item B below) CONFIRM that a RAID MIRROR is working?
Want nothing fancier than 2-nd drive is exact duplicate of 1-st drive at all times.
That is, an 'active and full up-to -the second" backup of the main 1-st drive.
I have done nothing to 1-st drive as it came from APPLE.
When I try to setup RAID set using DISK Utility, I get message about system(1-st drive) can't be used in a RAID or such.
yet I can add 2-nd drive to what I tink is a RAID set and then 'Enable' it.
It seems to add another entry to thr left-side of drves list panel but not sure that 1-st and 2-nd drives are BOTH in the new
"RAID SET' or that the set just consists of the "single" 2-nd disk?
B. I don't think that 1-st drive data is actually being duplicated to 2-nd drive.
For instance, how do I know that it was 'caught up' to match 1-st drive AND then is
staying caught up?
C. A 'RAID UTILITY' Icon brings up a not-available message, but I think that is because I don't
have HARDWARE RAID controller, just software RAID, correct?
D. What is 'Time Machine' and how does it play into this? I do assume that somehow/someway I need to
have off-machine backups also to be truly protected? How would a 2-nd identical miniMAC server be best
deployed to back each other up, in addition to their own internal RAID-ed disks that items above address?
My whole point of buying 2x750GB disks was to have mirror RAID set and
(foolishly) assumed that factory would set it up that way.
Please help me get setup right so when the inevitable crash happens,
I have some chance of recovering from it.

A. What are you adding to the RAID: a partition or a hard drive? You can only add hard drives to a RAID. RAID Utility should confirm that your RAID is working
B. No, I don't think so
C. It's because you haven't got RAID hardware.
D. Time Machine is a backup system in external drives. If you want, you can do backups in a external hard drive.

How to Setup Historical DSC Database on a standalone Server

Hey @all,
I am looking for documentation how to setup a standalone server for the DSC Module(Ver. 8) Historical Database.
My aim is to log all data to this server. The Server will be running Win2K.
Do I have to install the complete Labview 8 software and the DSC Module?
Does a walkthrough exist how to setup a DSC server?

After installing the runtime you should only have to reboot the computer in order to get the citadel service running. At the point, for citadel purposes, this machine will behave as though you had the DSC development system installed. The 8.0 runtime has no setup requirements...it should only need to be installed. Unlike previous versions, 8.0 requires you to build your application into an executable and the runtime should be invisible to you once you install it. If this is not the case, please post about it so it can be looked at.
If you have specific questions, please post them and I will either try and help you find the answers, get them posted, or answer them myself.

For single system landscape..
Go 000, DDIC ... STMS--> here it will ask for domain controller -- give self domain ---> Domain controller has been assigned .
Now again goto STMS> System overview>SAP SYSTEM >Create ->Virtual system- give name V<SID>
till this point your domain controller is created and virtual system is created .Next our aim is to setup STMS
again goto STMS>transport routes> change > configuration>statndard configuration ---> select second option (development and productino System ) because here your dev system will your own system and virtual system would be production system .
---> pop up will come -> give DEV - SID and Productino SID- it willl automatically create the route .
Save this and exit.
This way We can set single system landscape.

Could someone help me in the setup and configuration of NI OPC server to OMRON PLC (CJ2H model) using FINS Ethernet communication protocol? I already read some materials available in the web but it uses a different PLC and communication protocol. The OPC server is installed in my laptop and I'm using Windows 8 as my OS. I used a cross over RJ45 LAN cable and connected to the ETN21 module of the PLC. I was able to confirmed the communication of my laptop and PLC by pinging the ip address of the ETN21. I also tried to configure the OPC server based on the documents I just read online. I created a channel, device and tag to the OPC server. By the way, I just need to read the data from the tag I created. Can someone also tell me how to monitor the data on the tag? I hope that you could help me. Thank you in advance.

How to setup and install FMS on AWS after purchase?

After cpompleteing the purchace of FMS hosted on AWS I did not recieve any instructionb email on how to setup this application on an existing instance or better yet create a new instance dedicated to the FMS.I got as far as generating the key after purchase , however when I click go to app.... the link simply takes me to the Adobe / Amazon promo page for hosted FMS.

I just came across your answer to OKB Mr. sabretooth04, or HP expert!!! OKB, necessarily does not mean zero space left on a hard drive. Indeed 99% of times, it means that the software that One is trying to download, is outdated and is not compatible with the system that one is running. Thus the hard drive refuses to download the current software for its running program. And can only be resolved via the software producer. Meaning; one needs to contact the software company to find out if there are any new patches that can accomodate the download to become compatible with the running program.

I've read that many of web-servers use their own connection pools. So I want to know:
1) how I can setup connection pool in SAP Web AS ?
2) how I can call this pool in my application?

How to Activate and adjust database structure

Hello Experts!
I am working on a screen-exit u2018PPCO0012u2019. In u2018EXIT_SAPLCOKO1_002u2019 function exit & there is a structure given u2018CI_AUFKu2019. I did implement this structure but now I donu2019t need this user-exit anymore. How can I delete this field from structure? Because when I try to delete the field and check this structure it gives me error message
u2018Structure contains no fieldu2019.
Also like as we can u2018Activate and adjust databaseu2019 table through database utility is there anyway to do the same for structure?

Yes I did add a feild to a custome structure COCI_AUFK. But I used for component I sued ZZNAME and component type is NAME2. Now I donno is this causing problem?
But what I've done it i deactive my this project thought cmod.

this is error:

Once unit is powered on keep tapping F10 Key go to Diagnostics run the Hard drive test and check it this passes.
Use the following steps to recover the computer from a set of recovery discs (either CDs or DVDs):
Disconnect and remove all external devices such as printers, USB drives, and memory cards.
Turn on the computer, if it is not already on, and insert the first recovery disc labeled #1.
After the first disc is in the drive and the drive is closed, turn off the computer by pressing and holding the Power button.
Turn on the computer. The computer opens the Recovery Manager program.
On the System recovery screen, select Run program from disc , and then click Next . A Welcome to Recovery Manager screen opens.
On the Welcome to Recovery Manager screen, click Next .
On the Microsoft System Restore screen, select No , and then click Next .
Another System recovery screen opens. Select Yes , and then click Next .
The Recovery Manager gives you the option of backing up your data files. To do so, readBacking up your files .
If you do not want to backup your files, select Recover without backing up your files , and then click Next .
Read and respond to the screens as they appear. If a screen prompts for a disc, insert the next disc. In some cases, you may have to repeatedly insert the same disc several times before the screen allows you to continue.
After the System Recovery is complete, the computer restarts and continues into Windows setup. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup. Then, turn off the computer, reconnect all peripheral devices, and turn on the computer.
Before using the computer, update and protect your computer. Reinstall any virus and security software that was installed before the System Recovery.
Reinstall any software applications that were after purchasing the computer, and any files that were backed up.
If all off these does not work please call HP technical support and order the new recovery disc.
