How to setup Context in Tomcat 5.x as compare to 4.x

Hi All,
I am having a slight problem in understanding how to set a new context using tomcat 5.x.
What I used to do with tomcat4.x is that add the collowing
<Context path="/ddrive" docBase="D:/" reloadable="true"
crossContext="true" allowLinking="true"/>
in the server.xml file and from my btowser when I entered
localhost:8888/ddrive, it would give me directory listing for the mapped drive.
Now I want to do the same for tocat5.x, however am not being successfull, have tried few options but no success. Wonder if anybody here can point me in right direction so that I can get this done..thanks

and thats what is driving me nuttttz...cus it does seem like I am doing the right thing but.... here is what I get when I write the following in my browser window.

Error:

The SAP Crypto library is not required if you are simply trying to secure the webserver using SSL.
Securing IIS (.NET infoview, or IIS fronting a Java application server) is pretty simple as you would follow the same steps to SSL secure it as you would any IIS server (there is an add certificate button in the properties of IIS).
If you are using a Java Application server solely and want to SSL secure that, there is an SAP note to describe the steps required to add an SSL certificate to the (Tomcat) Java keystore.

you must set java_home to point at your java development kit installation

You need to set the following two environment variables after you install tomcat on windows
set JAVA_HOME= {Java directory path}
set TOMCAT_HOME= {Tomcat directory path}
Do this and try running start.bat again. It should get past this error.

In 11i we could create a forms function of the type "SSWA plsql function" to launch a html page from the menu.
How is that supposed to work in R12?
So my question is, how to setup a forms function to launch an URL like www.oracle.com in R12?

Hi, first set the Profile 'Restricted Text Input' to 'No' for your User.
Then create a form function like below:
Functional Administrator > Core Services > Function > Create (button)
Name: XX_GOOGLE
Code: XX_GOOGLE
Type: SSWA jsp function
Maintenance Mode Support : none
Context Dependance: Responsibility
(press continue button)
HTML Call: javascript:void window.open("http://www.google.com")
Leave other fields blank
Add to HR_EMPLOYEE_DIRECT_ACCESS_V4.0 menu:
500 XX Google XX_GOOGLE
This will pop up your external webpage in a new window.
The issue is that it only works from the Navigator framework page (not from within Core Forms)

This is usually done in an .XML or other configuration file based on the particular web application container you are using.
For example, in Tomcat Java Container, its the following parameter in the /conf/web.xml file:

<welcome-file>index.htm</welcome-file>
<welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
You will need to look at the documentation for your server container.

Are you talking about the context attribute bound to the second table? OR do I have to change the Importing parameters "Node" and "Parent_Element" of my supply function?

Hi ! I have a similar problem, well, it's along the same line ...
I'm using NetBeans 4.1, and i've coded a servlet. Using NetBeans to launch my servlet (with the bundled Tomcat 5.5.7) works fine, however i need to deploy my application unto a Tomcat 5.5.9 server.
Thus, i copied the WAR file generated by NetBeans into the Tomcat 5.5.9 webapps directory, and Tomcat expands it.
Problem is when i run my JSP pages with the form tags, they do not work on the Tomcat 5.5.9 environment. Anyone knows why?
(These work on the NetBeans Tomcat bundle 5.5.7)

Remove default context in Tomcat 5.5

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the default context in Tomcat 5.5 (Linux)? I want to make my own webapp the default context (which is easy in all previous releases) but no matter what I try, it doesn't work. I've tried editing:
1) conf/server.xml
2) conf/web.xml
3) conf/Catalina/localhost/<various>
3) <myApp>/META-INF/context.xml
But I can't even make the default context 'stop', let alone make my app take over as the default. If someone could assume it's a fresh installation, "out of the box" as it were, and tell me how to get rid of it, I'd be really grateful

You can check if you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs each time you start Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.<br />
You can check its content with a plain text editor if the file is there and you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can do a search for delta search pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and reset related user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.

How to setup multiple base station under one network? I have 6 rooms but one airport base station makes really difficult to get good signal from every rooms. I wonder if I can setup multiple airport base stations talking to each other under the same network to build up the signal strength will help solve this problem. But, is it possible? How?

One route would be to utilize a "roaming" network. In a roaming network, you would connect multiple AirPort Extreme Base Stations (AEBS) to the same Ethernet. Of course, this would require that your home is already wired for Ethernet.

I have all the required documents like
1. Oracle Application Server Portal Server Configuration Guide.
2. Oracle Application Server Web Cache Configuration Guide.
3. Oracle Application Server SSO Administration Guide.
I tried to follow all this documents but still i am not able to set SSL for Oracle Portal Server.

The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.

How to setup a static IP for a wireless printer

This problem has been ongoing for several versions of OS X and the last five printers I've had and I'm finally over messing with it. For some reson, when using a wireless printer with OS X this is a repetetive problem, and I think if I configured the printer to a static IP address instead of using DHCP, it might work better. At least once a week, if not more often, I'll print something and get the ubiquitous Dock error of "Printer is not connected". The printer is still in Preferences, but if I delete it, then it doesn't show up as it should for selection.
The only way to fix this is reboot, and then the printer shows up again in Preferences. I select it and all is well again...until a few days pass and the same thing happens again. Using an HP LaserJet P1102w, still a current model, but it doesn't matter which printer I use. I also have an Epson Artisan 725 and the same thing happens with it about once a week. Also, this happens from both my Mac and my wife's Mac, so it's not an issue with just my machine.
I've searched for documentation on how to setup a static IP address for a wireless printer with the Airport Extreme, but all I find are tutorials on how to do it with an ethernet hard-wired printer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could set up your router to do manual assignment of IP address instead of using DHCP, but that is a PITA, because then you'd have to manually set up IP for all your devices.
If you have AirPOrt Extreme, you could do this:
In your Apple TV, go to the Settings >> About and write down the MAC address of your ATV
Start up the AiPort Admin Utility
Go to Network tab
click + in the DHCP reservations
Choose an IP you want for your ATV & Enter the MAC address
From now on, this IP address will be reserved to the MAC address and only your ATV will be able to get it, no other device will.
It is not a static IP in a true sense, but behaves just like one.
Works great for me...
If you don't have a AP Extreme, I'm sure other routers will allow you do reservations too.
