How to setup hp 5520 printer

one more day trying to setup the printer 5520 before returning it to the store

Welcome to the forums @kamadevan ,
What exactly are the issues that you are running into when you attempt to setup and install your Photosmart 5520? Please let me know some more information so I can better try to help out.
How is the printer connected (USB/ wireless/ wired/ Bluetooth)?
What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies)?
Have you tried printing from different programs?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
What Firewalls and Anti-virus software are installed?
Have you tried disabling or uninstalling them?
Do you see any error codes or numbers, if so, what are they?
Hope you have a great day

  • How to setup a wireless printer

I was wandering if anyone out there knows how to setup a wireless printer without spending a lot of money. I have a dell photo 962 printer and a wrt54g router. I have tried to setup the printer on my laptop but it will not let me do so unless I connect it directly to the printer. My computers are running windows xp. Thanks for your help.

well for that you need to setup a printer as network printer, if your printer have networking capabilities...if not then you need to buy print server...

  • How to setup a network printer via http

I have a router with a USB printer attached to it. It looks like this:
    Printer status: Ready
    Printer location: http://192.168.2.1:1631/printers/My_Printer
In Windows you setup a network printer and the printers address is the http address above. How do you add this type of printer in the printer setup utility on Mac OSX 10.4.11 and 10.5.x?

For OS X 10.5, you use the following settings
As mentioned by bdaqua, open Print & Fax and click the IP icon and then select IPP from the top drop menu. Then in the Address field just enter the IP address; don't enter the leading 'http://' and don't enter the :631 (the mere fact that you have selected the IPP protocol means that it will communicate on port 631)
Then in the queue field you can enter printers/My_Printer, although some router perform a translation for the shared printer so you only need to enter the shared printer name in the queue field.
As for the name and location fields, these are just free text for the local user and have no bearing on the queue details.
And as for 10.4 I have no idea or way to test this at home. But if you use a mix of mine and bdaqua's information you should be okay.

  • How to reconnect with 5520 printer?

my 3-month old HP 5520 printer has totally stopped reading from my Mac Air.  Also for some weeks before I had to type in my wireless box number each time to connect.  Any ideas how to resolve this will be v much appreciated.  Many thanks, Helia W

Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
    The version is noted there.
Troubleshooting advice can depend on that information.

  • How to setup a usb printer on the usb port of a network storage drive

I have searched the forums and dont see any real info on this..
I have  a usb based officejet 7590 , winxp, and a iomega home media network storage drive
the printer works fine when I install it on the local usb port of the laptop
    BUT
its not clear how to connect it ot the usb port of the network drive.
DO I have to resinstall it as a network printer?
DO I have to resinstall device drivers if I already installed it as a usb printer for the local port?
Can I use the scan/fax functions if I do it right?
    thx!

OK, I will use it as a bookstand...
Since I obviously don't know enough about networks I will stay away from 'professional' products like the Cisco products.
The user interface and the documentation of these products are clearly made by nerds for nerds...
    Thanks for your help.

  • How To Setup a Network Printer

I have a network printer server which connected a Canon PIXMA iP2200 linkjet. The printer works well under windows with http protocol. When I try to setup this printer under Arch, I installed CUPS, ghostscript and gsfonts via pacman and I installed iP2200 filter from aur. I managed to added the printer from the CUPS local web interface and printed a test page successfully, but I can't print any other documents, What's wrong with it?

Well I am trying to paste a piece of Error log here:

Try restarting your WiFi router and printer by removing power to them for 30 seconds.

    Hi,
If you wish to keep print both sides as default, pleae try:
    (a) Double click (or touch) "HP Photosmart 5520" icon (should be one on desktop,
    (b) Click Set Preferences
    (c) In "Lay out" tab, there are 3 options in print Both sides, select "Flip on Long Edge" (normally for Portrait printing)
    (d) Click "Apply"
You can overwrite this default when printing from applications using Printer properties.
    Regards.

  • How to setup a static IP for a wireless printer

This problem has been ongoing for several versions of OS X and the last five printers I've had and I'm finally over messing with it.  For some reson, when using a wireless printer with OS X this is a repetetive problem, and I think if I configured the printer to a static IP address instead of using DHCP, it might work better.  At least once a week, if not more often, I'll print something and get the ubiquitous Dock error of "Printer is not connected".  The printer is still in Preferences, but if I delete it, then it doesn't show up as it should for selection.
The only way to fix this is reboot, and then the printer shows up again in Preferences.  I select it and all is well again...until a few days pass and the same thing happens again.  Using an HP LaserJet P1102w, still a current model, but it doesn't matter which printer I use.  I also have an Epson Artisan 725 and the same thing happens with it about once a week.  Also, this happens from both my Mac and my wife's Mac, so it's not an issue with just my machine.
I've searched for documentation on how to setup a static IP address for a wireless printer with the Airport Extreme, but all I find are tutorials on how to do it with an ethernet hard-wired printer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could set up your router to do manual assignment of IP address instead of using DHCP, but that is a PITA, because then you'd have to manually set up IP for all your devices.
If you have AirPOrt Extreme, you could do this:
In your Apple TV, go to the Settings >> About and write down the MAC address of your ATV
Start up the AiPort Admin Utility
    Go to Network tab
click + in the DHCP reservations
Choose an IP you want for your ATV & Enter the MAC address
From now on, this IP address will be reserved to the MAC address and only your ATV will be able to get it, no other device will.
It is not a static IP in a true sense, but behaves just like one.
    Works great for me...
If you don't have a AP Extreme, I'm sure other routers will allow you do reservations too.

    Hi Santana,
The drivers for the PIXMA iP2600 can be downloaded from the Canon USA website.  The following link will take you to the initial download page for your PIXMA iP2600:

    1.  Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
    2.  Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "DRIVERS" section and click the printer driver file.  When you do, another page will appear giving details of the file you are about to download will appear.
    3.  Please scroll down on the Details page and agree to the terms of the disclaimer message to continue with the download process by clicking on the "I AGREE - BEGIN DOWNLOAD" button.  After clicking the "I AGREE - BEGIN DOWNLOAD" button, follow the instructions to download and install the driver.  The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

  • How to setup the movement slip printing

    Hi
Does anyone know how to setup the movement or migo slip printing? Does it need setup condition to auto trigger the output type or omj4 could setup the auto slip printing by output type +plant locaiton ?
I have setup NDR in my parameter as X, but when I test to move matieral or receipt, there is no slip be printed ..why?
    Thanks
    Sherry

    Hi Alice,
Go to NACE Transaction in that select ME - Inventory managment and also maintain condition record, Procedure, output type, Acess sequence for output type (WE01) and u get automatically in GR..Moreover also select the printer determination by Plant/Storage location combination.....
Apart from Maintaining condition record as suggested in previous thread one more important activity is
In Migo screen on Header data section inside generaltab
just below Posting date feild you will find Printer Icon right hand side to that there is one check box, this must be checked either manually at the time of GR/GI creation or is preselected if the parameter NDR has been set to X (capital letter!) in your user master recordset. This is preselected if the parameter NDR has been set to X (capital letter!) in your user master record...
Moreover use MB90 for print outs for goods movement...
    From sas...
