How to setup my speedtouch router to manage Facetime

hello,
I have facetime installed on my imac and on my ipads.  when I bought ipads I manage to have a video connection via factime between both of them, I was at my grandma, who have a simple triple play box, without specific configuration.
When I am back home, facetime does not work.  It call, it rings, but onces trying to answer it never connect.  this is when computer is on.
When trying to connect the 2 ipads together, it does not work.  the caller ring, the receiver does not receive anything!
I think this comes from my internet connection.  I go through airport extreme and speedtouch 516.  I did some configuration long time ago to manage ichat. now I wonder what I should do so it works?  does anyone know?
than you for your help,
Best regards,
François

Strange thing to recommend, did they say why?
The Sonos system appears to be just an in house music distribution system that besides accessing in house dvices can also access web based music sources.  Are you trying to stream audio via RTSP? as I see another post here regarding what looks like packet fragmentation issues when accessing RTSP thru an Actiontec router.

  • How to Setup a Second Router (WRT310N)

I have two WRT310N routers.  I am setting  up the second one to extend the wireless range.
IMPORTANT: THE SECOND ROUTER IS PLUGGED INTO THE LAN VIA ETHERNET CABLE PLUGGED INTO THE INTERNET JACK ON THE ROUTER.
The IP of the first router is set to 192.168.1.2.  I can connect to it and get to the Internet via wireless.
The second router is 192.168.1.1.  I can see both SSIDs for each router.  However if I connect to the second router I can't get to the Internet since the Internet port is connected to the LAN, not the Cable Modem.
Should I be able to setup the second router to use the first router as the Internet connection?
For Internet Setup I selected Static IP.  IP Address 192.168.1.106 (this is the IP the first router assigned it).
    Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.2 (the IP of the first router)
DNS - I looked up the DNS addresses that my provider is assigning and types those in.
    Network Setup
    IP Address 192.168.1.1
    Subnet 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server Enabled - but I changed the range to start at 200 instead of 100 so it won't conflict with the other router.
When I try to save I get "The Router IP address equals to the subnet address"
What am I doing wrong?  Is it possible to setup a second access point when the second router is hardwired to the LAN?  Or do I need to install DD-WRT firmware?
I'm rusty on my network stuff.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I think I figured some of this out since your post.  Thanks much.  I found a post on the Internet that said to 1) set SSID on second router to same as the first, 2) disable DHCP on the second router.
Works great. This is with the second router LAN connection plugged into the LAN port, not the Ethernet port.  I've got a device that has to get access to the LAN which is now plugged into the second router instead of the wall jack.  I almost thought I was going to need to add a hub so I could split the wall jack between the wireless router and the media device.  But the question is, how can I tell which router I'm currently using for wireless when the SSIDs are the same.  The area I was having trouble getting connectivity to the first router because of the distance, now I get connectivity, but when I had separate SSIDs the other day I noticed for some reason I was able to connect to the first router anyway.
I suppose I could just unplug the second router and see if I lose a connection.  I'm running Windows 7.  Does the client wireless card just automatically connect to the router with the strongest single when the SSIDs are the same?
I suppose if I am getting a decent connection on my deck now, I shouldn't worry which router I'm connecting to, but I would like to confirm if the $50 I invested was even necessary now.  Guess I should go unplug the second router and see if the connection strength changes or drops.

  • How to setup WebLogic Admin Server and Managed Server

    Hi,
I working to setup a Weblogic admin and managed server but fail.
May i know the correct steps to setup the system ?
    Tx.

TX. I will proceed to upload more logs here later.
Anyway I notice that after i follow the guide to setup the admin and managed server, I only able to access the web apps on admin server. I can not access web apps for managed server.
I setup the admin server using port 7001 and managed server using port 7003 based on oracle guide.
I found weird here. when I browse to http://adminserver:7001/apps, it works. But when i browse to http://managedserver:7003/apps it does not work.
But funny thing is when i browse to http://adminserver:7003/apps, it works.
I confuse that which configuration I have done is incorrect and have this result???
besides that I notice that in the nodemanager setting...the listening address is set to localhost and it works. If i configure it to IP address, it will give me errors.

  • How to setup ADSL moden router and Airport Express 802.11n (1st Generation) to provide internet and airplay connections to multiple devices?

I have a Netgear wireless ADSL modem router (wireless + four ethernet out ports)  that i'd like to connect to a 1st gen Airport Express to create a small home network to provide internet access for a MacBook, iPhone and Apple TV, and to provide Airplay connection to the Apple TV and Airport Express audio output jack.
I'd like to turn off the wireless function of the ADSL modem router, and to have from one of its ethernet out ports an ethernet cable providing internet directly connected to my MacBooks ethernet port.
Then from one of the other ethernet outs on the ADSL modem router an ethernet cable connected to the Airport Express's ethernet port. This would be to provide wireless internet connection for the Apple TV and iPhone via WiFi from the AE.
At the same time as the MacBook is receviing internet soley via the ethernet in port, i'd like it to have WiFi connection to the AE to provide Airplay connection to the Apple TV and the AE's audio out jack.
Is this all possible? How should I go about to configure this? How should the AE's ethernet port be configured?
Any special modes the ADSL modem router or Airport Express should be in? ie bridge or client?
    Thanks

On the ADSL modem router web-based interface, should I set any security setting? I think not as there'll be no wireless signal coming from it, only wired ethernet connections to both MacBook and AE. Security should only be set on the AE to prevent someone from accessing its WiFi signal. Is this assumption correct?
    These are all correct!
How should I go about setting up security for this network?
First I would recommend that you configure the AirPort Express for WPA2 Personal. This will provide you with the greastest level of security while still providing excellent bandwidth performance.
You would configure wireless security for the Express by using the AirPort Utility on a Mac, PC, or iOS device. Using your MacBook Pro as an example, you would do so as follows:
    Run the AirPort Utility.
Select the Express, and then, click on Edit.
Select the Wireless tab to enable it.
Set the Wireless Security option to: WPA2 Personal
Enter the desired password in both the Wireless Password & Verify Password fields. Note: Use of a "strong" password is encourage here. By strong, I mean use a mix of upper/lowercase letters, numbers, & punctuation marks. Try not to use common dictionary words. If you operate your wireless in an area where security is of an utmost concern, I would further suggest that you change the wireless security password every 60-90 days. Also don't forget to change the default AirPort Base Station Administrator password as well.
Click on Update and allow the Express to restart.

  • How to setup a Linksys router as WiFi network -- connecting to Actiontec

With horrible range using the Fios Actiontec router, I went ahead with google searched suggestion to use a second router as my WiFi network. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to properly set up the second router to the Actiontec even with step-by-step instructions.
Can anyone give me step by step instructions to get the second router up and running? Please help!
I wish to set up my second router as a new static connection so my WiFi devices may connect to that network instead of the Actiontec's. I do have Fios TV, so I need a solution that will not interrupt the other services.
I used this set of instructions:
    http://smallbusiness.chron.com/set-up-second-router-verizon-fios-60493.html
I put the starting IP as 192.68.1.3
I got up to the input New Static Connection and input 192.68.1.2 and the MAC address of the new router.
When I press Apply, I get the message,"The IP address 192.68.1.2 is illegal for any of the connections subnets." The first time it failed, it stated that the address was used, but now I get this message every time.
I also attempted this set of instructions:
    http://www.ehow.com/how_6127815_set-second-router-verizon-fios.html
But I only got up to #6 where I connect to the new router and enter admin. I was unable to access the new router. My browser states that there is no internet connection.
Note: Verizon support has been no help so far. I am at wit's end.

These are the instructions I would use
Can I use my wireless or an extra router along with the Verizon provided router?

It might be as simple as defining VLAN interfaces for your 3 VLANs, and they assigning the ports to one of the 3 VLANs.

How to setup default gateway in a DHCP client. The default gateway will be the Ip address of the server that has RRAS installed, hence routing cabalities.

    Hi Bill,
Thank you for replying back...Yes, I was actually asking how do you set the default gateway address on the DHCP server?,
I believe I got the answer below:
To configure the DHCP default gateway option Click Start, point to Administrative Tools and then click DHCP. In the console tree, expand the applicable DHCP server, expand IPv4, and then right-click Scope Options Click Configure Options, check 003
Router, type the applicable Server name and IP address, and then click OK.
    Thank you

  • How to setup management server in oracle 10g database

    guys,
i've installed oracle 10g database into my machine. but i don know how to setup the management server (for scheduling owb10g process flows). unlike 9idb, we have an option emca to setup the management server. if anyone of u knows abt it, please help me. do i need to install the grid control just to have the scheduling mechanism? please advice.

Well, it depends heavily on what operating system you're using, what mail server you're trying to install, your network topology, etc. Realistically, this is a question that is probably better asked in a forum for whatever mail server you're trying to install...

  • How to setup Guest Network Name in Cisco Router

    Hello everyone!
The first. Sorry my english =)
I want tald you how to change guest network name in cisco (what have different name)
    What we need.
    1. Cisco Connect for Mac OSX (i use snow leopard and Cisco Connect for E3000)
    2. Terminal
    Okay. Let's go.
    1. Install Cisco Connect for OSX
    2. After setup - slighty setup your cisco router (give something name and password), then, when cisco connect say you "You now connected the internet" and going to main screen - exit from cisco connect
    3. Open Terminal (Or you can use Finder (go to Application, show package content Cisco Connect))
    4. Go to /Application/Cisco Connect.app/Contents/Resources/lcid/<your setup language, for english - go 1033>/
    5. Edit resource_strings.pus (vi resource_strings.pus)
    6. Change "-guest" in string <LocalizableString RcFileId='10019' BaseTextHash='0xA65E286D' BaseText='-guest'/> for something what you want. For example, i changed for ' Guest Network'
    7. Save
    8. Open Cisco Setup
    9. Go to router configuration and change desired name. I changed to 'Grizlly Bear'
    10. After setup name - go to Guest Setting and Enable. As you can si, your guest network name set as 'Grizlly Bear Guest Network'
    11.Exit Cisco Setup
    12. Go to web interface setup
    13. Setup Wifi manual and change SSID for diferent names. I change 5Gh to 'Grizlly Bear Hi-Speed Network' and 2.4GHz to 'Grizlly Bear Main Network'
    14. Setup your hostname for all services (fileserver, media server, etc)
    Woala!
We have three diferent names network!
    Questions?

In order to enable Guest networking, the AirPort Extreme must be configured as your "main" Internet router. In this configuration, Connection Sharing = Share a Public IP address. The Extreme would be connected directly to the Internet modem and NOT downstream of another router with NAT enabled.
In this configuration, the Guest network would provide access ONLY to the Internet and NOT to your LAN.
