Just purchased and incredible 4K Blu-Ray DVD player that offers Screen Mirroring.
How do I set it up on my Mac ?

Apple does not support Blu-Ray. You will have to investigate third party software that will allow you to use the Blu-Ray hardware.

If TVersity gives you problems (and although it is a good program, it can be quite buggy), try Nero MediaHome 4. It does the same thing as TVersity, but is less buggy than TVerstiy is (in my opinion, based on using it with several different computers).

How do I use my Airport Express with a Blu-ray player?

Hello, first post, long time lurker. Have a question, hope someone can help me
I have an Airport Express V 6.3, currently I have it set to 'Join a wireless network' and its connected wirelessly through a Netgear router that is located on the 1st floor, I'm on 3rd floor by the way. I've been using it for airtunes, but I recently received a Sony Blu-ray Player and would like to connect it the airport express via ethernet cable.
What do I have to set up on the airport express to be able to give the blu-ray player internet?
I've noticed many threads here about airport extreme connected to express...so they weren't too helpful

You'll need the 802.11"n" version of the AirPort Express to be able to "Enable ethernet clients" and connect the DVD player. Unfortunately, your older version of the Express does not allow this type of feature.

New Blu-ray player and DVD-R media... strange problem?

So, I have a sample disc that we made last year with various clips on it. To the best of my knowledge, everything has worked just fine. Now, I have a new Sony Blu-ray player. I put our sampler in, and one of the tracks does NOT play the audio. Plays the video, no audio. Inserting the same disc into our other players and the audio plays with the video just fine. Grab another sampler from a different build/burn. Same EXACT issue, on the same exact video track there is no audio but the disc works in all other players. Now here is the real kicker- take either sampler disc and play it in the Blu-ray player, go to the track that plays the video but no audio, play it for a few seconds, then rewind and play from the beginning, and you get sound. Jump back to the chapter index and choose the clip, no sound. Rewind & play you get sound.
Anyone want to give my any ideas as to what is going on?

For what it's worth, the project was edited in FCP, Compressed using Compressor. I don't specifically know the exact settings, but I typically use VBR with an average of 6 or a CBR of 5. I always use AC3 audio. DVDSP authored the disc. I usually keep my systems up to date, but the disc was authored last January so I would have been using whatever the latest system updated in January were. And finally there are two builds of the disc. The 2nd build has DVD Rom content added to it. But either build has the same exact issue with the same exact tack.

Not Really. Try using another batch of discs. Author the project over again..maybe it will help.

I recently purchased the 55 in LED Toshiba tv model number 42SL417U and I am having trouble finding the instructions on how to program it to work with my Sony Blu Ray player and Satellite. I went to product support and could not find a topic on how to program the remote.

The TV also has CEC functionality to control other CEC-enabled, HDMI-connected devices. More information about this is on page 19 of the user's guide.

How do I get my iphone to be recognized by my Sony blu-ray player? I have it cnnected by a USB port. The blu-ray player says it does not recognize USB device, or that it is not supported. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never heard of a Blu-Ray player that offers this functionality in conjunction with an iPhone.
Your best option would be to buy an AppleTV and connect that to your big screen TV. Then you can wirelessly stream audio, video and photos to your TV, and also mirror the iPhone screen on your TV allowing you to play games etc. on your iPhone but displayed on your TV. The AppleTV also does lots of other things too.

Help hooking up new-Blu Ray player to old receiver

Hi,
I just bought a Blu-Ray player and was hoping to just pull the cables out of my old Proscan DVD player (which is hooked up properly to my receiver) and plug them into the new player.
However, the new player has space for two audio-out cables and one video-out cable (Y). The old player has the same two audio-out cables but has three video-out cables (Pb, Pr, and Y).
I tried just hooking the Y into the new player and leaving the other two cables unplugged, but that leaves me with a fuzzy image on screen.
Do I need some sort of converter, or should I have bought a Blu-Ray player with the same cable setup? The one I bought is a Samsung BD-D5700. None of my components are HDMI. My Denon receiver has the same 3 video-out plugs as the old DVD player.
I'd appreciate any help you can offer!

The airport utility has nothing whatever to do with the sony bluray player.
The airport utility is to setup wireless in the airport.. once you setup wireless then you use the sony setup for wireless in the player as per its manual.
Please do keep the wireless names short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
As well as pure alphanumeric passwords if you want to do this successfully.

Hook all the devices to the TV, then an optical out from the TV to the receiver. If you have enough audio inputs on that unit, you could do audio from each device to it.

Surround Sound Not Working Correctly Since Connecting New Blu-Ray Player

I recently purchased a Sony VIZIO VBR200W Blu-Ray Player to go with my VIZIO VL420M LCD HDTV, and am having some audio issues. I have a RCA RT2770 Home Theater System, which is connected to the TV through the audio in/out composite (RCA) audio cables (audio in is to the RCA system, audio out is to the TV). The Blu-Ray Player and the XBox 360 are connected directly to the TV using HDMI cables. The problem is the sound coming out of the speaker system is a bit distorted when using the Blu-Ray player. I've also noticed quite a bit of feedback coming from both the TV speakers and the surround speakers when the TV screen is bright (loading menu's of movies, Netflix Instant Queue, etc.). I never had any issues with the sound from the 360, which has been hooked up this way since day one. Any suggestions on how to get the sound to be clearer?
OK, now I'm starting to worry that the feedback I got earlier caused some kind of picture quality issues in the TV itself! Before I make a fool of myself for asking stupid questions, is this even a possability? Help!!!

dumb question - but does your rca home theater have an optical input on the back of it? it will look like a trapazoid cover with sometimes the words "audio in"

I bought a 47LA6200 TV and a BP530 blue ray player. I have my cable box hooked up to HDMI 1, I have my blue ray hooked up to HDMI 2, and my XBox 360 to HDMI 3. I have my cable box hooked up to my older JVC RX880V stereo digital optical to digital optical without any 5.1 problems at all. My TV digital optical out is hooked up to my stereo digital optical port 2 without any 5.1 problems either, sort of. My BP530 is hooked up to my stereo digital coax to digital coax but I cannot get any 5.1 sound at all. Not through any of the digital channels on the stereo at all. The player only comes through as standard stereo through all 4 speakers and I am not sure if it is coming through the base speaker at all. I have tried every setting on both the TV and the blue ray player to no avail. I have even tried to not use the digital on my blue ray but when the stereo is set to play from my tv optical I still don't get 5.1 sound. When I do not use the TV optical out but I do use the digital coax out from the DVD player I still cannot play my DVDs in 5.1. I have new HDMI 15gbps HDMI cables and a new digital coaxial cable so I don't think it is a cable thing.

How do I connect a Blu-Ray player w only Ethernet?

Hi- I use an airport extreme base with n-only operation with a few computers and appleTV around our home (great speed!). I just added a blu-ray player with an ethernet port and would like to figure out how to connect it to the wireless network. I'm guessing there's a 802.11n repeater or some sort of wireless hub I can buy that can be configured to extend the network to ethernet, but have no idea. I'm assuming this is what folks with printers have done for years... would appreciate any advice. thanks!

One option would be to use the new 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station's (AXn) ProxySTA feature to create a wireless-to-wire bridge to connect the Blu-Ray player to.
To activate ProxySTA, you must set up the Express to join a wireless network and then enable the Allow Ethernet Clients setting; both settings are located in the Wireless tab of AirPort Utility. The feature should work with any wireless network: a, b, g, or n; and 5GHz or 2.4GHz. (Note that the Express, which ships with firmware 7.3, must also be updated to firmware 7.3.1 for this feature to appear.)
