How to share lightromm between 2 different windows profiles

Hello everybody,
My wife and I have each an user profile on the same computer.
I manage our photo library with Lightroom. I gave her access to the programm and noticed I had to reconfigure everything for her profile. We share the same DB.
How can I make sure that my version controls the backup etc options and that she or my children can not mess up all my work from their profiles?

Hi, Your subject says Windows, so I have only included that portion here, nothing for MAC. Lightroom (LR) allows a user to select a database (DB) to use, or double clicking on a DB will open it up in LR. That would handle that part, as you probably knew. - Libraries/Keywords Sets/Backup folders: These can be found by default under "C:\Documents and Settings\<PROFILE NAME>\My Documents\My Pictures\Lightroom" Note that KEYWORDS themselves are stored within the library DB. - Presets/Templates/Preferences folder: Found by default under "C:\Documents and Settings\<PROFILE NAME>\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom" Just copy the files over. If you synch (free tool Syncback Freeware is what I tend to use) then it becomes easy. Set up the source and destination. When you add / change Keyword sets / Presets / prefs, simply sync the two folders and then your other profile(s) should be good to go. Hope this helps. Kai

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.

It is almost as if the program does not exist on my computer. If I search for it, the only thing that comes up is the installer. With this you can define a connection using native client to server Seattle1, and execute a query there, The results will be spooled on your server.

if you use FQDN on your Query, than the datasource parameter in connection string can be letf out.

How do I share tabs between my different Firefox installations using the new Firefox Accounts system?

I am using Firefox Nightly (30.a1, 2014-02-18, x64) on my laptop computer (Windows 8.1 Pro x64) and I was using Firefox Beta on my Nexus 5 (Android 4.4.2). Recently, Mozilla announced the new Firefox Accounts system (which is replacing the old Firefox Sync Account) and I created a Firefox Account for my laptop Nightly installation. Since the new Firefox Account doesn't work with the old Firefox Sync Account, I replaced my Android installation of Firefox Beta with Firefox Nightly and signed into Firefox Account on my Android. However, when I attempt to send a tab from my Android installation to my laptop installation using the "Share to Nightly" intent, Nightly asks me to set up a Sync account, which is impossible to complete in my laptop Nightly installation. I've tried replacing my Android Nightly installation with an Android Aurora installation, but the same problem occurs.
What's worse is that even with both my laptop and Android installations signed into the same Firefox Account, I cannot see any information being synced between the 2 installations. No history is being shared, and I cannot see the open tabs list from the other device. I cannot pass tabs between my phone and my laptop, which is something I used every week as I visited websites and read my RSS feeds on my phone. Does anyone know how to share tabs using the new Firefox Accounts? Does anyone know why Firefox Accounts does not seem to be syncing data between my 2 installations?

I believe the VMs for most common OSes use preemptive thread scheduling. I know windows does and I am rather certain that solaris/linux also do that.
A number of suggestions were made above for your problem. Memory mapped files allow multiple VMs if memory mapped files work for your VM/OS. Or you can use a single VM.
Given that your dataset is 1 gig or larger you might want to keep in mind the limitations of modern OSes. Windows for example will not normally allow any application to have a process space larger than 2 gigs. And on all OSes the VM heap limitations for 32-bit VMs are below 2 gigs by several hundred mega-bytes.

You can not share a Session object between web apps. You can create your own sessions using a database, textfile or hashmap. Do a search on the O'Rielly web site for psuedo-sessions.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted share data between two forms on different lists.
To show external information on the calendar event, there are two methods: Calculated column, workflow. You can refer to:
A Simple Guide to Show More Information on a Calendar Event
I recommend to use workflow to achieve what you want. But you need to create a people column to display the manager.
You can create a workflow associated to the "Out of Office Request" list, add action to Start Approve Process. If the manager approves the request, you can create a item in the calendar, and then update the people column and the title column.
Then the calendar will display the Title, date/time and the manager.
To create a view for each manager, you need to modify the Filter. You can use the people column is equal to the manager name or the Title contains the manager name.

I used to use PC a long time with a lot of old document.
I want to install Windows XP with boot camp.
But I also want to share my documents, music, video files between Mac and Windows in same iMac.
How can I do this?

Hi Eric and welcome to Discussions and the Apple world.
Mac OSX can read and write from Windows partitions (like the BootCamp Windows partition you are about to create) when using FAT32 as file system for Windows.
However with FAT32 you are limited to a partition size of 32GB.
Mac OSX can also read from Windows partitions that uses the NTFS file system, but it can not write to them unless you use a third-party helper like either Paragons NTFS for Mac http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/ or NTFS-3G http://www.ntfs-3g.org/
Windows can not even see or use a Mac OSX partition without additional help by MacDrive http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/
