    Unless you've paid for these songs yourself and you own them we can not help you transfer the music to your MBA. It would be stealing music you don't own.

    You can only use home sharing to stream content from a computer to another computer or device (or to copy content between computers), it doesn't work from an iOS device.

    The ipad is not a storage/backup device.  It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced. The sync is one way - computer to ipad.
    The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
