You must have a computer acting as itunes server.. although there is no such thing. Apple call it home share.

You can't with the iPad, you need an iPhone 4 to use the HotSpot feature.

If you open up your system preferences, and along the Internet row, you should see a "Sharing" icon. Within there you would have the option to enable Windows File Sharing.
You may want to try this feature and follow the instructions within that preferences pane.
If this doesn't prove to be worthy, try establishing a connection through the internet (if available). Otherwise you could simply burn CD's from your Mac and transfer them that way to the PC's. This is of course if your Mac is a CD burner.

Are you trying to share a video in the Share pod or via Screen sharing?
Screen sharing only shares the image of your screen (or application), not the audio. Additionally most videos run at 24-30 FPS (frames per second), while screen sharing runs at 3-5 FPS. So a large amount of the visual information being displayed by your video is lost. If this is what you are doing, I'd recommend that you get an FLV or MP4 version of the video you are sharing and upload that directly to the Share pod. The playback will be sync'd among all attendees and the audio will come through their computer speakers.

Whatever is in your iTunes Library can be synced with either or both devices.
Have you gone through all the tabs in iTunes with your iPhone selected under "devices" and checked off the selections you want?

How to share movies with others

Hi all,
This is probably a really dumb question for which I'm sorry for, but I'm a bit confused.
This is the first time that I've really used iMovie. My son has made a 5 minutes movie, which just comprises of still photos imported from iphoto, with a few effects added, plus audio. When I look in the movie folder, there are folders with star on them titled "Audio waveforms" and "Media", plus a Qt.mov file, which is only about 180kB large. Is this the file that I email to share to others? Why do I have to go through "File, Share, Email...etc" which makes a much bigger 5MB file?
I hope this makes sense.

that file is just a reference file… it is just a collection of advises, "use photo1, add transition disolve, then clip_04, lower volume of audio_55"....
for "sharing" a video, it needs to be rendered and encoded to a "complete", standalone movie/file… different uses, different encoding (size, framerate, codec, etc)…

how can i share my photos in iPhoto with the other users (my family) on my mac. There is only one mac-computer. When i go to preferences sharing, there is allways the allert: your firewall software let not pass the port 8770.

Hi Achim,
You have to open that port on your Mac. Usually when you go to sharing prefs there is a checkbox to allow iPhoto sharing (thus opening that port)

What version of iPhoto do you have?
The easiest and most reliable method is to move the Library to an external Hard Disk and point her iPhoto and yours at it.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
5. Then, in each account, Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and select the Library on the External.
Remember only one person can open the Library at a time.
