How to share my internet connection on my macbook with my iPhone ?
Hi guys, Do you know how to share my internet connection on my macbook with my iPhone. I have already made my own network, and I allowed sharing Internet , but it didn't work. Can you help me , please?
If your carrier provides the service, go to Settings > General > Network > Personal Hotspot. If you don't see the Personal Hotspot option, then your carrier does not support it.
Note that you'll have to pay for a 'tethering' data plan on top of your normal iPhone data plan.

Pc & Laptop: How to share the internet connection via Bluetooth?
Hi,
I've recently bought a laptop and i'm having trouble figuring out how to share the internet via bluetooth from my desktop pc. I can connect using the Personal Area Network (PAN) but i'm not sure how to send the internet. whatever i've been told to try so far as all failed.
i'm sure this questions been asked quite alot, so i'm sorry to ask again)
could someone tell me a step by step setup?
(Thanks, It's much appreciated)Hi
Its takes longer to describe the full installation how to use the BT for internet sharing.
I have found this website with a installation instruction for Windows 2000.
The dialogs for Windows XP might be a little different, but the configuration will be the same.

How to share broadband internet connection on Satellite A200-1VG
Hi,
I am very new to the world of laptops, 3 days old. In fact, I have a desktop (the OS is XP professional) and have just bought my self a Satellite A200-1VG (the OS is Vista).
I believe it is possible for 2 machines to share a broadband connection, but how I do not know. I must confess to being quite ignorant when it comes to technology ( you have probably gathered that by now) and I ask that any advice given will be given in not too technological language.
Thanks in advance from a newbie.
MegPOkay, firstly some routers or mdoems come with 2 ports on the back so you can connect two different computers so simply plug them both in
if not, then i advise you buy a router which allows you to add numerous computers to the same network via wires or add numerous computers wirelessly
i have one computer connect to my netgear router -wired
i have one computer wirelessly connected with a Netgear USB wireless reciever
then i got my laptop which is connected via wireless
i have xbox live which i connect to the internet via my laptops wireless connection, this can be done with any pc or laptop aswell
what you do is
wireless networks - where it showws any detected networks
change advanced options - on the side
advanced tab
then allow other computers to use this computers internet connection
simple as
all you do is plug in your other pc or whatever -
I cannot share my Internet connection from my Mac to my iPhone
When I enter the Sharing settings the box with "share you connection from" only gives me the chance of sharing from WIFI or from Bluetooth PAN, which I have no clue what is. So I assume that it is WIFI I have to click as it is a WIFI connection I want to share with my iPhone from my Mac.
In the box "To Computers using" I only get the chance of marking one box next to "Bluetooth PAN". If I do not check this box, the whole box called "Internet Sharing" is greyed out and I cannot check it. I check the Bluetooth PAN box and it says Internet sharing is on. However, I cannot find the signal on my iPhone?!
ANY IDEAS?
Oh, I use OS X 10.8.2
Any help is much appreciated!
ThanksIf your computer is already connected to WIFI, and your iPhone can also connect to that same WIFI signal, why would anyone want to enable sharing? That would be completely redundant. You share from the router.
If, on the otherhand you are trying to tether your Mac to your phone, all tethering settings are done on the phone, provided you have the service enablked by your phone carrier. Then, you are simply going to use the Bluetooth connection to tether the mac to the phone. -
How to share an usb-connected Windows Vista Printer with a Mac Mini
Hi,
I own a laptop Sony with Windows Vista (64) which has a printer connected via USB. I recently purchased a MAC MINI (middle model) and wanted to use my laptops printer for printing from my Mac mini. is this possible? thanks. MxHey there Max,
If you can’t find the printer in the network browser, it may be easier to add the printer manually using the URL field, as shown in the article below.

Syncing to a new computer should give you the opportunity to replace the exisiting contents with the new. -
I want to share my internet connection with my iPhone via the usb cable. I have a Macbook pro. What do you think? Is this possible? And if yes, then how?
If not why option available
Thanks! What Carolyn says is correct. You can, however, share an Internet connection with your iPhone wirelessly by turning in Internet sharing (found in System Preferences > Sharing.) If your MacBook Pro is already using a wireless connection, you can just connect to the same wireless network it is using.
Best of luck. -

I would like to use my Airport Express (802.11n) to provide audio in another room for a pair of powered speakers, however the iTunes remote software for Android requires (for some dumb reason) an internet connection so I can't control iTunes
So my computer is connected to a cabelmodem via ethernet and the Express has established a network connection with the computer
How do i give the Airport internet access without an ethernet cable? To share your Internet connection from your laptop, select 'Sharing' in 'System Preferences' and enable 'Internet Sharing'.

You will need to set a WEP key. You may need to root the system do some things at the command line. I recommend against that.
Laptops don't work well as routers but it is possible.
Hook up the AirPort express to the laptop using an Ethernet cable and configure with the AirPort utility as if you are setting up a print server or base station. The Android should see the AirPort Express after that.

This might work better if you used the AirPort Express as a base station instead of trying to use the laptop as a base station. Then your Android would have Internet access. -

Can I share my internet connection from macbook pro to macbook air?
Hello.
I've tried to share my internet connection using wifi, two computers were connected with each other, but one had not internet connection. What can I do to fix it, and have internet access on both computers? It's actually even easier than that....
I never had to create an adhoc network.

Possible to share my internet connection os x lion to iphone 4s
Trying to use bluetooth PAN to share my ethernet connection on my macbook pro running Lion
TIA
KevinI'm sure it is possible, but that would be a question for a forum delaing with the operating system on your laptop which you neglected to mention.
Assuming its Windows for instance this seems to be what you want:
http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/78515-share-internet-via-bluetooth.ht ml
Basically The Sharing would be done first from the Laptop, and the connection to the iPad would just be bluetooth pairing which would be done through the Bluetooth settings in Settings.
If its Mac possibly this would work for you

Again it will vary depending on the operating system on your Laptop. -
How to share a PPPoE connection with a hub?
Hello here,
I have the following configuration:
1. PowerMac with MacOS Tiger (latest update)
2. PPPoE internet connection
3. A simple 8 ports ethernet hub
My question is: is it possible to share the Internet connection to the other ports in the hub by making the Mac as a router? I remember I was able to do it with MacOS 9 in the past (with a shareware program)!
Any idea is very welcome. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,It is possible and rather easy... BUT you either need a mac with two network ports... one to connect to your DSL modem and one to the hub or you need to connect the DSL modem over USB and the use the other network port to connect to the hub.
An easy and cheap solution would be to buy a cheap router (you can get them under 50$) and it has normaly a nice and easy web interface to control firewall etc build in. Easier then handling all of the different parts in OS X. -
Can Airport Express share an Internet connection via Thunderbolt Ethernet
An increasing number of hotels are now charging for every device that you use to connect to the Internet. I am travelling to India next week for work and the hotel I am staying at has this policy. I have not discovered a way of sharing a Wifi account between several devices. I travel with an iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air.
What if I connect my MacBook Air via wireless. Can I share my Internet connection (Internet Sharing in Sharing) by connecting an Airport Express to the ethernet port (thuderbolt ethernet) and create a wireless network that way? If possible, what configuration would I need on the AEX, wold it be bridge mode? This is why I travel with 2 AirPort Express devices.
For hotels with wireless only....one Express is configured to "join" the hotel wireless network and it provides an Ethernet signal to the second Express which is configured to "create" a wireless network for multiple devices.
The hotel network only "sees" one device....the AirPort Express that is joining....so I'm only charged for one device, but can connect multiple devices if I want.
If the hotel has an Ethernet jack, you only need one Express..the one configured to 'create" a wireless network. Again, the hotel only "sees" one device....because I do not use Bridge Mode.....but I can connect as many wireless devices as I want.
Both methods work about 95% of the time at "unknown" hotels. Generally, I stay at "known" hotels where I know that things will work.
