How to show ground plane grid in 3D (CS5)

I am trying to show the plane as you can see in this image I found online.
My screen does not show this. I have selected View>Show>3D Ground Plane but that does not work.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
You have to have one of the 3D tools selected for the grid to display. Try pressing 'K' or 'N'. If that doesn't turn it on, then go to View> Extras and click it to give it a check mark (or toggle Hide/Show with Ctrl/Cmd+H).

Photoshop CC Ground Plane grid spacing/density settings?

I was working with some extruded text (just learning 3D aspects of PS) and it appeared that my ground plane disappeared. So while I can see the extruded text and manipulate it and the camera as expected (normally) the ground plane appears to not be there. However upon closer inspection it looks as though the density of the ground plane grid spacing increased significantly (or perhaps got very small?). In the secondary view window while viewing the TOP view, the underlying grid shows, but is very dense, that is it's very closely spaced. It kind of looks like tweed.
I was thinking that I somehow unwittingly screwed up some setting in the document so I created a new document from scratch. I then created a sphere mesh from preset and the grid spacing didn't change from the previous document. It behaves as described above.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks for the response... I have a GeForce GTX580 card (Win 7 on an Alienware Aurora with 24GB RAM). The thing is, it was working fine at some point... just haven't used 3D in PS CC in a while so I'm not sure which update may have caused an issue. All other 3D features work fine so I can't imagine why displaying the ground plane would be that taxing on my system so as to be faint/nearly invisible. Not the biggest issue in the world but I kind of got used to seeing it and it's throwing me off a bit

I am using a macro-exit. Now in the execution flow of this macro-exit I am required to shaow an ALV grid. I tried calling a Zreport in which i am calling alv screen(screen type dialog box). It is giving a short-dump saying Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised.
If i comments the fieldcatlog and structure name while calling the ALV in my Zreport then the alv is coming but then planning book is not vivible.
Kindly tell what thing I am missing and what probable thing I can do to make it work.

Struts Problem :: How to show data into Grid

hi to all..
I am having problem in Struts/EJB. I have to show all the data of a table into a grid(Table in jsp)
i.e. fire a query "select * from <table name >" and show the output into the respective table.
Earlier it works fine because the table contains minimum data(500-1K) and did not take too much time to load into grid but now the data in that table goes upto 80K-90K rows and it takes too much time to populate the table.
problem is How can I minimize the populating time of table ?
I want solution like fetch more rows option in DB2, but my problem is how to maintain previous data into session because every time its a new request and I don't want to keep my bean into a session.

I use *"fetch first n rows only"* clause in query; In DB2 Database there is no mysql database type functionality "*Select column1,column2 from table1 +Limit n,m+*" clause which is use to fetch rows exists between n and m.
mysql Limit clause didn't work in DB2. Here fetch first n rows only( where n starting from 0th row to the number specified) works but didn't get desirable results.

Snap object to ground plane not showing in 3D menu

I seem to be missing the "Snap Object To Ground Plane" menu item in the 3D menu. This recently happened and I don't know how to get it back. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, I never noticed that. But it's not the one I am looking for, since it's not drawing shadows on the plane.

How do I remove the ground plane shadow in Photoshop CC 2014 when working with 3D?

Is it possible? I still want to maintain the shadow on the 3D object itself but I don't want the 3D object to cast a shadow on the ground plane. How can this be achieved?

In your 3D panel, click on the Environment.
Now look in your Properties panel. There are Ground Plane settings there, including an Opacity control. Set that to 0% and you should be good to go.

     I am using an option edit in the feild catalogue which allows me to change the values in a few columns in the ALV list.
What I want is to be able to show a check box in a few columns which user can check and use the value X in the program for the later processing....

Are you planning to have this table do any of the calculation, or is is to be used as the electronic equivalent of a sheet of paper with a grid printed on it—a place to record the data.
For your seven column table:
Are you using one or more rows at the top of the table to label the data below? If so, you might want this row (or these rows) to be set as Header Rows.
Are you using the leftmost column to label the rows? If so, you may want this column to be a Header column.
The default table supplied on the "Blank" templates contains one header row and one header column. If you need more (or fewer) Header rows or columns, select the table, then go Table (menu) > Header Rows > (choose the number you need). Repeat to set the number of Header Columns.
To make a seven column table from the table supplied by default, click on any cell in column H (The eighth column), and drag right to add more cells to the selection, until you get to the last column of the table. With these cells selected, Go Table > Delete Columns.
To make the remaining seven columns fit across a single page:
Go View > Show Print View to show the table as it would appear when printed to paper.
Select the table by clicking its icon in the Sheets List to the left (easy method), OR by carefully clicking on the outside boundary of the table itself (fiddley method).
With the table selected, you will see square white handles at each corner and at the middle of each side (including the top and bottom).
With the mouse, grab the handle in the middle of the right side of the table and drag right (or left) until the table just fits onto the width of the defined page.
With the table still selected, set the thickness and colour of the cell boundaries using the Gaphics Inspector (as described by Jerry), or using the Stroke, Thickness and Color Well controls in the Format bar above the working portion of the Window.

Planning grid and Windows Vista

I am currently working with the ISH Med planning grid on the network of a client.
The client is working with Windows XP and on there the planning grid works OK.
However, I work on a computer with Windows Vista on their network. I am not able to install te planning grid on my laptop.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem, without changing any settings settings that might influence the network of my client?

I didn't answer this posting earlier because it is so unspecific. now that it is brought to my attention again, here a short note:
Testing the planning grid under vista as well as other customers experiences don't show any problems using the planning grid on vista.
You just have to follow general SAP guidelines (notes) as well as have access rights to your system under control according to vista standards and everything is supposed to work fine.
In case it doesn't, describe ypour problem in more detail and/or open a customer message as proposed by claudius.

Separate ground plane reflections in 3d

is there any way to turn off the ground plane reflection for any one object in a 3d scene? i'm trying to create a mock-up of a bottle where the bottle is semi-transparent (clear plastic) but the label is opaque. i've done this by creating two bottle object, the idea being to leave one bottle (the semi-tansparent one) blank and put the label on the other one's extrusion. it's working out ok, except the semi-transparent bottle is screwing up the reflection so i'd like to turn that reflection off if possible. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ground Plane NOT Available

Okay. So I have built a 3D text object in PS CS5. I've pretty much got it where I want it and it seems to be snapping to the "ground". The only issue is that I cannot view the ground plane because my button is greyed out.
Now, before I go too much further, I will explain what I have:
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Core i7 920
12GB RAM (EVo GeiL)
ATi Radeon 4850 Dual DVi
OpenGL is running and selected in Performance
RAM is set to almost 8GB in Performance settings
Now, from what I read, this was initially an issue with OpenGL not either running or being the wrong version. That's not the case here. I have looked for the answer but have still found nothing that will assist in the cloud. So I am hoping someone here knows how I can get the Ground Plane to show up, or at least have the button un-greyed.

I'm wondering how could i create a grid like the grid below, i want to create a grid with summary row,
i have tried to create it using collapsing but it didn't work as required.
Any suggestions?, i want to know just the starting point so i can make deep investigations.

this can be achieved by just assigning a datatable containing the data plus some formatting of grid. Meaning there is no feature for that.
The datatable can be filled manually or by sql query. Then you have to attach some events for updating the values ( validate after for gid item ).
A small example for a sql query showing last month quotations and orders with summary :
select 1 as Sort,cast(DocNum as varchar) as DocNum,DocTotal,convert(varchar, DocDate,104) from OQUT where DocDate between DATEADD(month, -1, GETDATE()) AND GETDATE()
UNION ALL
Select 2 as Sort,'Summary ( Quotation ) : ',sum(DocTotal), convert(varchar, DATEADD(month, -1, GETDATE()),104)+' - '+convert(varchar, GETDATE(),104) from OQUT where DocDate between DATEADD(month, -1, GETDATE()) AND GETDATE()
UNION ALL

In iPhoto how do I open Photo Grid to change number of caption lines?

In iPhoto '11 you can only display two lines below the thumbnails of your photos when you browse an event or an album, the titles and the ratings. The title will be truncated, if it does not fit into the single line. From the iPhoto help:
To show title and rating information below photos:
Click to select Photos in the Source list.
Choose View, and then choose the information you want to view:
Titles
Rating
The information field you chose appears below your photos.
To hide this information, choose View, and then choose the information you want to hide.
