How to show someone else has document open on a sharepoint.

We have an Apple Server with several sharepoints on. If a user saves a document to the server, then two users can open it simultaniously, edit and save the document, whoever saves last becomes the final version. The other persons work is then stored in the 'Versions' section or a folder is generated with .pages.234-dfjgh-32 and other garbage at the end. (I know if you rename ending .pages, it becomes a document again).
Is there anyway of getting iWork to say that the document is open by another user?
In a business enviroment, people are opening and editting docuements all the time, it then looks like someone's changes are being lost, and a waste of time to then try and recover the bits you want from another 'Version'. This happens with both Numbers and Pages documents. If there is no answer to this, then we will have to revert to using Microsoft Office for Mac, which does let you know another user has the document open, and this seems crazy!

You haven't said which Pages version you are referring to, but Pages 09 and earlier have not been behaving well if saved to a server. They always worked best if the documents were saved to the users own hard disc. Nor do I think versioning is meant for a a shared server. To me Pages is an application that created documents for one user at the time, not for multiple users at the same time. Pages isn't created for large businesses. Pages 5 is a very stripped down version of earlier Pages versions so I cna't imagine it will do what you ask for either.

How did he manage to do this? - he would have to have known your password if he was using an existing Apple ID. You should change it immediately to something strong and unguessable. That will prevent him accessing the account or using the email he has set up (assuming he hasn't changed the password and locked you out).
You can't change the primary @icloud.com address once set up, though you can create additional addresses as email aliases: if he's given this address out you will get his emails but you could set up a Rule to trash them.
You might to better to create a new ID and iCloud account anyway. To do this you wil need a different non-Apple email address (you could use a free GMail one); or you have the option in the iCloud prefs pane to choose an @icloud.com address and make that the ID.

You really need to get the apple id straightened out before you start, or you will pay the price forever!   You have a couple of options. I assume your dad is cooperating with this project. I think you are probably right about using his apple account.
Make sure you have established the second e mail address and that to works.
Log onto apple.com, and in the upper right, log into the account. Once in the accout, click on the area where you can change you data, and add the second email address.    Apple wil verify the adress by send it an e mail, and won't do anything further until you respond to an e mail sent to that address, so watch for it.
After the address is verified, on your accout page, make that address your primary address contact from apple. That way if apple sends confirmations for apps and things, they will go to the new address, and your mom won't see them. Then set the pad up using the same aple Id as your dad. Remember, you have not changed the apple id or the password, you have only changed the e mail address for contact.   ( you can change it back after the surprise)

Ending the box, and doing the set up. It is a great way for them to learn enough to use it. Press the buttons etc. pick their own apps. You can gift her all the apps you want, and she can learn how to download them herself.
I gave a pad to mom in law, and did pretty much what you are planning, and at the end of the day, having it all set when she openied it made it harder for her to learn, rather than easier.
But you are doing a god thing, and I am sure she will enjoy the pad.

I did not create this document, and it is in another language. it is an essay on 101 Geography, then there is another document that is "Note Taking" and it also is in another language. Neither of these documents were created by me and my Ipad never leaves my hands. ??

I can't see how it has achieved such notariety in your household ... it is simply an inexpensive developers tool.   That said, you or someone else has downloaded it at some time; it won't just appear.
But you can check that.   As it is a paid app, it will appear in your purchases list (hidden or unhidden) and if by some odd situation it doesn't, write to the billing department and ask for a copy of the account it featured on.
In terms of getting rid of it, the chances are it could have been partially deleted by the person who downloaded it.   But you have a clone or similar in your system and that is why MAS is picking it up and showing the update availability.
You're going to have to search a little harder, I'm afraid.

Im writing this out for a second time because I lost the first one. Long story short I have a friend who knows loadsof my passwords including skype, I am cool with it and I dont really want to change them. But I am kind of paranoid about them accessing my messages like skype and email and facebook and wanted to know if skype tells you if someone else has logged into your account from a different IP or something or if someone is logged in at the same time as you on another computer and sending messages and stuff. Like Facebook tells you when you log in if someone has been on your account from another ip address.

To check if your Skype account is signed on simultaneously on another device (where, not who is using your account), type this chat command in any open instant message chat:
/showplaces
Lists other instances where this Skype name is currently signed in.
To force a sign-out, type this chat command:
/remotelogout
Sign out all other instances except the current one. This will also stop push notifications on all other instances.
From a safety and security standpoint, I would strongly recommend you reconsider allowing anyone to have a list of your account passwords. I recommend you start changing all of them, and the sooner, the better.

If you have a lock code, how did someone change the apple ID for "find my phone?" You should go by the apple store and let them help you.

Hi Bob, I just tried your suggestion, but the interactive PDF is in spreads by default, no way to change the setting. When I choose to view by single page in Acrobat, it displays a single spread.
When I choose to view by spreads, it displays 4 pages, two spreads. That's the topic of this whole discussion, I believe. I do own CS 6 at home, however my employer supplied me with CS 5.5. And I have very little, if any, influence on purchasing.
So, I have no good way to make an interactive PDF (with differing recto/verso headers and footers), that is accessible and shows the correct header/footer. It's either single pages (with one header/footer), or recto/verso headers/footers but PDF only as a spread, as well as I can tell.
Unless you know something else I can do...

New iPhone 5 shows someone else's Apple ID

I have just upgraded to an iPhone 5s. I've just tried to update/download some apps but when it asks for my Apple ID it is showing someone else's e-mail address.
I have been into settings and it all looks ok in the App Store bit (has my Apple ID). But it's not letting me log in to check.
All is well on my iPad......
Can anyone help as I'm confused.

My guess is something went wrong with the transfer.
I would go back to the store and try to talk with the same person who helped you the first time to see if they can help.
In Settings>iTunes and App Store, do you see your Apple ID or the other one?
And did you previously have an iPhone or did you have a different kind of phone?

I purchased my old iPhone 4 off a friend when I lost my phone at the time. All of my music and photos on that phone were under her iCloud account.
Now that I have just got a new iPhone 6, when I backed up all of my photos, music etc. onto iTunes and synced up my new phone, it transferred her iCloud account to my new phone. She does not remember her password, and it will not let me delete this account without the password. I have spent hours searching the internet for a solution but have had no luck. Surely someone else has had this happen to them in the past.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to get an iCloud account signed out of your iPhone, you will need to have the previous owner sign out with their Apple ID login information. If they do not remember their Apple ID password, then they can reset it by following the directions in the article below.
