hi all
i have 2 dropdownlists
i created a dropdownkey ui and inserted values into dropdown dynamically. let us say i have months in the dropdown , and when i select a month name in the first dropdown i want to display the festival names of that particular month in the second dropdownlist.
please guide me

Hi Narayan,
You can achieve this functionality by following Bhavik's suggestion. If you do not want to create the second drop down's data dynamically, I can give you a suggestion.
Create simple types for each month's festival list. Create twelve attributes each's type being one of the created festival type. Let's call these attributes attr1,attr2....attr12. On selecting a value from the first dropdown, change the binding of the 'selectedKey' of the second dropdown to a corresponding attribute.
For this in the doModify(), write the following lines of code :
String selected_key_for_drop1 = wdContext....get<attribute bound to the first drop down>;
IWDViewElement elmt = view.getElement("<your second dropdown's ID>");
IWDDropDownByKey drop = (IWDDropDownByKey)elmt;
if(selected_key_for_drop1.equals("Jan"))

now in this way i can lift one character at a time and copy it into another file (note i have not done the copy part in this code but that can be implemented) however this whole procedure is taking too much time if the size of the file is too big....kindly suggest another way to copy one file into another

have you ever copied and pasted a large file in Windows or another OS? Larger files take more time to copy, that's just how it is.

I am a newbie of XML, I have a exercise which is creating a Tree View from XML file. But the trouble is I do not know how to read the content in one node of XML file. I decide to use the algorithm as following:
1. Create a GUI form which gives the ability for user to choose a XML file (ok)
2. Load XML and return the file (ok)
3. Read the file from node to node to create the node in Tree View (?!)

That functionality is not built into the iPad, so you'd need a third-party app of some sort. I'm not aware of any app that allows mirroring from one iPad to another iPad, but perhaps someone else will know of something I've missed.

I have to say first, many thanks to the ones who answers to threads in this forum, it's very helpfull when we're learning web dynpro!
I have a RFC function that return a table containing a long text (node "it_text", with elements "Tdformat" and "Tdline").
1) I want first to copy all the Tdlines in a new node "text_box" (that I made specially for the screen, it contains only the element "Tdline" [the text itself]);
2) Then I want to show the content of the node "text_box" in a scrollable textbox on the screen (to show 8 lines of text, for example).
How to do that easily? What is the UI Element needed to show that?

If you want to display as it is then you can use Table UI element. You can change the design property to 'transparent' and set column header visibility property to none. Then you need not to write any code simple you can map the node to table field.
Even with TextEdit you can achieve what you want. Try this code...

I got my wife a new macbook pro, running Windows XP prof. She has an iphone 3G with 16 GB memory running 3.0.1. So..she wanted to transfer the sync function from her PC to her macbook. Of course, Apple was of NO help at all (but did want to charge us $69.95 since her iphone is out of warranty, and this was an iphone not a mac problem, hmmm..). Took me lots of digging, but here is how you transfer you iphone from one computer to another:
1. Move you itunes library from the old computer to the new one. To do this, you do NOT just copy it. This is as good a link to use as any to see how to do it, but search the internet and you can find instructions:

2. Transfer your applications you have purchased to the new computer. To do this, open itunes in the new computer, hook up your phone and click on File>transfer purchases (from itunes store) to computer. This will move your applications to the new computer.

If you cannot see it, you need to open windows explorer (not internet explorer) and go to tools>folder options>view and click on "show hidden files and folders" Note YOU CANNOT JUST COPY THE BACKUP FROM THE OLD COMPUTER TO THE NEW COMPUTER AS SUGGESTED ON SOME WEB SITES...THIS DOES NOT WORK, ITUNES WILL NOT IDENTIFY THE BACKUP EVEN IF YOU PUT IT IN THE FOLDER IN THE NEW COMPUTER THAT MIRRORS THE FOLDER LOCATION IN THE OLD COMPUTER.
-OK now you are ready...click restore on the iphone and restore the phone to factory settings. This will happen in a few minutes (10-15 mins).
-The phone will reboot and itunes will recognize the phone again...as a restored phone. It will then ask you if you want to restore it from the backup..say YES. You then need to go through all the itunes tabs and click on everything you want to sync to the phone (playlists, movies, podcasts, ringtones, etc). Once you are done going thru the tabs click "apply" and the sync will start. Go out, to a movie, to bed, whatever because it will take hours to sync.
-Once the sync is done...voila...your iphone has been moved with ALL the settings to the new computer. Check it. Then you can delete the backup you put into the temp folder if it is OK
-Deauthorize your old computer
This worked for Win XP...should work for Vista. The whole process took many hours so don't rush through it (i'm guessing 12 hours total work).

How to Copy the PLD from one database to another

i have designed the PLD for Purchase Order, i want to copy the particular PLD into another Database.
i tried to copy the PLD from one database to another through copy express.. i copied the PLD sucessfully. But the problem is,it copies all PLD's from one database to another. i want only the Purchaseorder PLD has to be copied in to another database.any body can help me in this regard.

you will get Insert scripts of A1 and A2 tables .After that You 'll Replace A1 to RDOC and A2 to RITM.
So that you can RUN this SQL srcipts any where (In any Database)
but First u have to run sp_generate_inserts Storeprocedure(from websites) .

How do I move or copy the contents of one tag to another ?

No-one was able to answer my question about how I can input data into the Description tag for several tracks at once (Description not being a field listed in the Multiple Item Info window).
So, thinking along different lines ... Comment IS a tag that is shown but I'm already using it. What I would like to do therefore is to move all the data from Comment to Description (in one go), then I can start using Comment for new data via the Multiple Item Information dialogue.
How do I move this data from one tag to another? Is there, for example, a Doug Script to do it that anyone knows of?

Hello!!!, I have Developer 9i (Forms and Reports), the OCJ4 and repserver90 are running, now, I attempt to run one report from Forms9i, and only it appears an empty page HTML. I don't understand why doesn't show the data of query?

the code does look good. maybe the Reports query does not produce an output. You can trace this ny adding a header on top of teh Reports (e.g. a date or just saying "Hello World"). So instead of an empty page this should now show the text strings. If you don't see the string then there is something else going on. Since you are not getting any error message I assume that the Reports itself executes fine.
