How to show the drill path in the analysis

Dear Experts:
I encountered this problem when designing OBIEE dashboard:
I'm using OBIEE 11g.
I ceated a new analysis and made it to show in pie chart view.
It works fine regarts to the drill function, when I click a part of it, it automatically change to the drilled down level figure.
Whant I want to know is how to show the current level after serveral times of drilling down and drilling up.
I know that I can judge the level base on the legend or move the curs over the chart.
But to a new user, is it possible to create a variable or something above/below the chart to actively show the name of current level?
Thank you very much.

How could it not be 5A?. If you have A for each member and then you select 5 members you are going to get 5A. If you don't want 5A then what do you want the Avg of A across the 5 members?
The tools are working the way they are designed to, your requirement is a little out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, Web Analysis does not have conditional logic.
Try taking my previous suggestion and adding another member in Essbase called "Count", make it dynamic calc and the formula should be ' 1; '
The purpose here is to get a value of one in the count member for each member you are going to select in your filter. So, if you select five members in the filter, Web Analysis will now return 5A and it will return the result of "Count" which will be 5. Create a calculated member that divides the 5A value by the count value 5. That will give you the average A for the 5 members, then you can divide by 12.

  • Issue with the drill path in Hierarchy in OBIEE 11g

    Hi ,
    We have upgraded to 11g(11.1.16.6) and an issue we are facing is that the drill path for the time hierarchy is not same.
    In 10g its Year >Quarter >Month>Date.
    BUt in 11g its rendering as Year >Quarter >Month>Week Number >Date.
    The week number is present in the hierarchy defined in the RPD, but the week number has "Use for Display " unchecked.
    Not sure why it then is coming up in the drill .

    Hi,
    You try to make the changes in the hierarchy as per required,and clear the cache then reload the rpd and then restart the services.
    its just a try, and reward me if it correct.
    Thanks,

  • How to display the navigation path in the masthead.

    hi,
       Requriement is to display the navigation path in the masthead.
       how to achieve it.
    regards,
    Shanthakumar.

    Hi,
    I think you want to show the bread crumb in your masthead to show the path to the actual navigation node.
    This functionality already exists in page title bar iview you need to just enable the options in the page title bar iview in your active framework page.
    If you want to have this Functionality in your masthead, just check the codes of page title bar iview and do similar coding in your masthead.
    NavigationEventsHelperService has alot of helper methos which will give you the currently clicked navigation path nodes and more. So also check them.
    NavigationEventsHelperService service =
                    (NavigationEventsHelperService) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(
                        NavigationEventsHelperService.KEY);
                NavigationNodes navNodes =
                    (NavigationNodes) service.getNavNodesListForPath(request, INavigationConstants.NAVIGATION_CONTEXT_ATTR);

  • How do we find out the file path which the IDOC is stored.

    Hi,
    If we use T-code: AL11, we can see the file path of the Unix server.  And some IDOC outbound file is also stored in some file path after generated.
    If i generated an outbound IDOC, how do i know in which file path it stored??
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Go to control record of the outbound IDOC.
    go to partner tab, check the port under sender information.
    the outbound file path will be configured with your port.
    Use T-code WE21, the concerned port will be available under section 'File'
    Directory under tab Outbound file will show the path under which file has been stored.

  • How do I add a jar file into the build path of the compiler?

    Hey,
    I'm trying to import a jar file into the build path of the compilation process, but it does not find the packages or the classes that are in it.
    I think I don't add it right...
              ArrayList<String> options=new ArrayList<String>();
              options.add("-d");
              options.add(targetDirectory);
              options.add("-classpath");
              for(String str:includeDirectory)
                   options.add(str);
              if (!compiler.getTask(writer, fileManager, diagnostics, options, classes, compilationUnits).call());
                    ....and I've tried this way:
         public void setTargetDirectory(String targetDirectory) {
              this.targetDirectory = "-d " + targetDirectory;
         private void compile(Iterable<? extends JavaFileObject> compilationUnits) throws Exception {
              ArrayList<String> options = new ArrayList<String>();
              options.add(targetDirectory);
              String classPath="-cp ";// tried this also with "-classpath"
              for (String str : includeDirectory)
                   classPath+=str+":";
              options.add(classPath);
         if (!compiler.getTask(writer, fileManager, diagnostics, options, classes, compilationUnits).call())
              // throw new Exception("Compilation Error");
         }Thanks in advance,

    Thank you for your reply,
    Q: Are there .class files in that directory in that jar file? (the compiler doesn't ( can't )) look for directories, it can just look for specific files , and scan to get a list of all files matching certain criteria. So if there are no class files, it will say the package doesn't exist, even if there is a directory, possibly containing other files.yes there are class files in the jar, the tree structure:
    j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\(lots of class files)
    META-INF\manifest.mf
    and thats it.
    , your code will only work on windows because other platforms use a different path separator. You should use java.io.File.pathSeparator not explicit ';" when building your classpath. (this is unrelated to your problem, but you should correct it)will do, thanks.
    Q: Is that error in your post formatted by your own diagnostics? (we could possibly help you better if we didn't have to guess!!)I would not post my own error code, this text is generated by the compiler diagnostic.
    {code}
         System.err.println(" Error details: " + diagnostic.getMessage(null));
    {code}
    Q: Is line 3 of ImageCroper_Editor.java (sic) an import statement? (we could possibly help you better if we didn't have to guess!!)it is an import error... didn't the error message stated that it is an import problem? wired, I'm sure before it did. anyway it is an import error.
    Also you don't show us what the variable includeDirectory is in terms of type, and contents, that might be helpful. (we could possibly help you better if we didn't have to guess!!)It has only one String object: "D:\%Important Documents\WorkSpaces\PacMan\ApplicationManager\Plug-in\Data Chunk Designer.jar"
    the last file on the classpath list.
    Q: Have you proven this? that i did post, in this long line of text.
    Q: Is the compiler finding other classes (in other packages) in that same jar file?No. all the class files are in the jar, they all have entries that start with "j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\*.class", and since I get 47 errors I guess it does not load any other class.
    thank you for you comments, the problem with having these errors, is that I can't even get a piece of information where this error is coming from, only that it is an import loading error package not found, what does that mean? that the jar was not loaded in compilation(no error about this), that the jar is corrupted(no error about this), that the path is incorrect(it is correct I made sure), that there is no such package in the jar(There is), that the compiler does not load the package(does it even do that?), really I can't even guess why this happens, I've been at this on and of all day today, really annoying.
    Thanks,
    Adam.

  • How to get the full path of the fmx's directory.

    Hi all,
    I will ship my project to a customer. So I must install forms runtime at the customer's machine.
    I put all of the fmx files of my project into a certain directory at the customer's machine, and I create a desktop shortcut of the forms runtime. In the "start in" field of the shortcut property I put the full path of the directory where I put the fmx files. And in the target field of the shortcut property I put after the ifrun60.exe the name of the fmx file which to call first.
    Now , in one of my forms file I want to get the full path of this directory because I must call Ora_Ffi.Load_Library. And the library which I want to load resides on that directory.
    So how to get programatically the directory where the fmx files reside.
    I know that there is the registry entry FORMS60_PATH, but we plan to ship many projects to that customer; so if I use the FORMS60_PATH variable then there will be an error because there will be many directories. And the customer can launch many of the projects at the same time.
    So how to get it.
    Thank you very much indeed.

    If you are using the d2kwutil library, then you can use the win_api_environment.Get_Working_Directory() function.
    If not, I doubt that there is anyway to get it since the get_application_property(current_form) does not return the full path of the form as it used to in prior versions of Oracle forms such as 4.5.

  • How to get the complete path of the file that is selected using FormFile

    i m working on struts..
    i hv used FormFile like
    <html:file property="xsdpath" value="Browse" />
    need to get the whole path that i will select using browse button
    for example d:\foldername\filename.java
    but FormFile Api has a method getFileName(); which returns the filename, for getting the absolute path wat has to be done.
    please reply bak soon
    thanks in advance

    here i use formfile <html:file> just to allow the
    user to select a xml file .
    so i need to get the whole path of the selectedfile
    to parse the xml file.No you dont.
    You would definitely benefit from further reading on
    file upload.
    <html:file> tag renders an HTML <input> element of
    type file.
    When a user uploads a file, this file is sent as a
    stream of data, which a program (jsp/servlet) on the
    server, reads and stores the data back in the form
    of a file on the server.
    Any server program that needs to parse the file,
    should do so on the file stored on the server.
    There's no point in knowing the absolute path of the
    file on the client machine. If a server program can
    parse a file on the client machine, why upload the
    file in first case ? Get the drift ?
    i also want to show my user the path he hadselected.
    If you have such a requirement, then yes.
    But it sounds weird to me. If you see my response
    above, you will realize that the server has a copy of
    the client's file uploaded and then parsed. What if
    the client has changed his file after upload ?
    cheers,
    ram.I also have a requirement to get the whole filepath of the file selected and place this information into a table. From FormFile I can only retreive the absolute filename
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks, dam

How can I capture the path also?For security/privacy reasons recent versions of browsers by default do not send local file path information from File Browse items to the server, nor expose the file path in the control's JavaScript methods. Firefox, Safari and Chrome only provide the filename. IE6 & IE7 still yield the path in Windows format. IE8 and Opera have adopted an irritating approach of replacing the path with a wholly imaginary "C:\fakepath\"&mdash;and this monstrosity has sadly had to be enshrined in the HTML5 spec...
    Changing IE's security config setting “Include local directory path when uploading files” enables the path to be exposed in IE8, but unless you're working in an intranet environment where: IE is the only browser used; it's possible to make remote changes to this setting on every desktop; and this won't break/expose anything else, then trying to achieve this is pointless.

    Edited by: shashiwagh on Jan 29, 2010 11:46 AM

    Hi,
    if your XML file is inside a package you can easily get it from the classloader.
    Note that your application maybe packaged inside a jar so it is not safe to use java.io.File for this purpose.
    You have an xml file in :
    com/gts/xml/MyXML.xml
    in a class of the same module (that will packaged in the same jar) for example com.gts.java.XmlLoader :
    // To get the stream :
    InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("/com/gts/xml/MyXML.xml");
    // Or the URL :
    URL xml = this.getClass().getResource("/com/gts/xml/MyXML.xml");Hope it helps.

  • Deactivate the drill path selection

    Hi everybody!
    When more than one hierarchy starts with the same dimension object path but diverges at a lower level of the hierarchy Web Intelligence prompts and asks for the applied drill path!
    In the universe documentation I found the sentence: The default path in the user module will be the one that is higher in the custom hierarchies list.
    But Web Intelligence is always prompting and never chooses the default path.
    Is there a oppertunity to disable the prompt and just use the default drill path?
    Thank you in advance,
    Sebastian

    Hi,
    thank you for the answort, but this is not, what I mean.
    It is good If the user gets prompted if the drill requires additional data.
    My hierarchy starts with the same dimension object path but diverges at a lower level of the hierarchy Web Intelligence prompts and asks for the applied drill path, although there is defined a default path in the BO Universe.
    Can I hide this additional prompt?

    Hi,

    Default is a local path like: libraries in my userprofile.

    Hi, Barry. I don't know why this solution didn't work for me :-\ Does it matter that my page numbers are in the footer and not the header? When I follow your direction, the pages do get numbered differently. My problem occurs with the last step.
    1. Open the Inspector. (Check!)
    2. Click the Layout button (second from left). (Check!)
    3. Click Section. (Check!)
    4. Make the two settings shown: (Check!)
    5. Go to Page 1 and delete the contents of the Header. (When I do this, the content for all footers is deleted...)
    I really appreciate your insight.

  • How many shows can I DVR at the same time?

    I just signed up for FiOS triple play with preferred HD, premium stations, 75/75 internet and phone. I was watching a show the other night and DVR'd 2 shows - got a message saying I couldn't do that. How many shows can I DVR at the same time? Can I still watch a live show while DVR's recording?
    This is SO frustrating!

    Every regular DVR has 2 tuners It can recordp to 2 shows at a time.
    If both tuners are in use,, then you can't watch anything else.
    Want to record more, get more DVRs or upgrade to Quantum.
    Lowere level has 6 tuners. THey support remote TVs and recording.
    THere agin, you can get combination of channels being watched and recorded up to 6.
    Need even more, upgrade to higher level and have 12 tuners to share.
