i can sign into my icloud account on pc and i can sign into my apple account on pc and phone, but i cannot sign into icloud on my iphone. icloud is showing the wrong email address on phone only and i don't see where to change it to the correct address.

Not sure what it is you did. If you have your contacts saved in iCloud (you can check them by signing into your Apple/iCloud account at iCloud.com - check the Contacts there), then changing your Apple ID will have no effect on your iCloud content. Also, when you Sign Out of the iCloud account on your device, you are given the option to keep the Contacts on that device. If you select "Keep", then when you sign back on with the updated Apple/iCloud ID, it will ask you if you want to merge the contacts on your device with your iCloud account. If you select "Merge", then it merges them.
Also, what the instructions above are having you do is change the Apple ID that the iCloud account is linked to. It is the same Apple account, you are just changing the ID itself. The iCloud account associated with that ID is not changing or being affected in any way. If you created a new Apple ID, then that is the problem. A new ID would be linked to a new/different iCloud account.
However, either way, if you keep your contacts and then merge them even if you set up a separate ID altogether (which is not what the instructions are telling you to do), your contacts would be intact.

Cannot 'Sign In' to Skype on iPhone

I bought my 3GS UNLOCKED iPhone from the Apple Store in Sydney last week. I updated it to 3.1.2 and then decided to download the Skype app for iPhone via the iTunes store. I installed the app on my iPhone by syncing with my MacBook. Problem is that the 'Sign In' button is dead - the 'Create New Account' button works but I don't want a new account I want to use my existing account with my existing Skype name and contacts. I've tried deleting and re-installing the app, powering off and re-booting my iPhone, deleting the Skype app from iTunes and re-downloading, etc. Nothing works!!! I'm doing all of this at home over my WiFi network.
Is there some basic setting that I'm not seeing to get Skype to work on my iPhone? I.e. should Airplane mode be ON or OFF or does it not make any difference? Is the Skype 1.2.2 app flaky?
I would be very grateful for any suggestions as to how I might get Skype to work on my iPhone

Thanks for responding. I've tried having both Airplane mode and Wifi mode ON but the result is still the same - 'Sign In' button simply doesn't respond.

Dualphone-how to sign in to Skype?

I got a used Dualphone from a friend who did not like it. I would like to at least give it a try. I have a paid Skype account for my online number.
When I try to "Sign into Skype" on the dual phone, it simply does not work. I don't know what else to try. I see that there is a button on the phone that ought to let me toggle the handset to be able to enter letters (for my Skype name) but it doesn't work.

My Dualphone has stopped working since a few weeks and refuses to go even near the Skype login menu setting. I have no ideas what is going on, but I filed a support request with the manufacturer - since the phones are still sold in the Skype shop (although at half price) it would suggest they are *supposed* to still work..

In the Windows desktop version of the software, to sign out, click on:
Skype -> Sign Out.
You may also shut down Skype completely by right-clicking on the Skype icon and clicking Quit Skype.

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

Syncing your device with itunes will then enable you to remove whatever photos you wish to remove from your device deleting them with the computer and not the iphone.

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

Guys this is absolute rubbish feature of the login application where people's login names get recorded in the dropdown menu. Is there any more permanent way of getting rid of this annoying privacy intrusive "feature"? I would like to have a profile with a username that is not going to appear at airports and my grandma's laptop after I log out of skype and no I do not want to go digging for app files to remove my entire history on each and every machine I use as suggested by your help files. You can sign into your iCloud account on more than two devices at the same time if you want. But if you want to sign out on your old phone, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll down and tap Delete Account, then provide your password (if running iOS 7). This will only delete the account and data from this phone, not from iCloud. Your other devices won't be effected by this.
