I teach yoga and use my iphone for music. I make sure to silence all the rings and vibrations. But when a phone call comes in, music stops and the phone starts ringing through the speakers. How can I stop?

If you don't need to answer calls during yoga, enable Airplane mode before you start playing music and teaching yoga.

Don't jump all the way to restoring just yet. Check to make sure there's nothing in the headphone jack, and nothing covering the microphones (including the noise cancelling microphone at the top next to the headset jack)
1. Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
2. Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
3. Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
4. Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

I have an iPhone 5 and when I'm playing music I can't change the song or start and pause on any of the shortcuts, what can I do ?

When I'm playing music and am on other things and swipe the shortcuts up, I am in able to change the song or pause and play, the same thing happens when I have locked my phone.
I have to keep unlocking my phone and going into my music to change the song, this is very frustrating!

I never use than switch and I had forgotten it existed but yes that was the problem.

You tapped in the middle of the screen and it did not bring up the scrubber and controls at the top of the screen?
Try a Reset: hold down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red OFF slider, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.

Pre - How do you silence external ringer when using headphones?

When I get a call while using the headphones, I'd like to hear the ringer in my headphones only... Currently when I get a call it rings in the headphones AND via the external speaker. So let's say Im sitting in church listening to music on my phone :-)... and I happen to get a call, instead of me just hearing the call in my headphones, the entire church gets to hear my phone ring as well...
I have tried silencing the phone but that silences the ringer in the headphones as well.
It seems like I could do this on the first phone I had (I took my first pre back for various other reasons)... but for whatever reason I cannot seem to make it work on the new phone. Maybe Im just not setting the preferences correctly... Any suggestions?

Why doesn't my phone ring when I've got screen lock activated?

This has been driving me crazy and I need to know how to fix it.
I like to have the screen lock activated on my phone (otherwise it will be in my purse calling people without me even touching it) but when I get an incoming call my phone doesn't ring, it will only vibrate so I'm missing alot of calls because I'm not always near my phone to hear it vibrate.
Also, there's nothing to alert me (a sound played every few minutes) when I missed a call or text & its causing problems for me.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the phone ringing but we certainly want to make sure that is addressed. When your phone is not in screen lock does it ring as normal? You may want to check your sound settings to see if you have it set to vibrate in silent. Also if that mode is set you want to make sure the switch above your volume buttons is set up, otherwise the phone will not ring while in screen lock mode. Keep us updated and I am sure we will get this figured out.

I would like to know how to silence the phone number keys when dialing a number.

Use the Mute switch at the side of iPhone above the volume keys.

When my bluetooth headset is connected, I can only hear sounds via my headset. I would like to hear my phone ring via the speaker of the phone (so I don't have to keep my headset on all the time). How can I make this happen?

Is the Bluetooth selected in the audio settings when you are on the phone? If you can hear the caller in the vehicle, then it is pairing. I would check with the vehicle manufacturer, or the local dealer to see if there is a problem with the microphone in the car, since that seems to be the issue. You can also check to make sure the phone is not on mute when using the Bluetooth. Check the phone when on a call.

Phone rings when it shouldn't

I put my phone on vibrate but it will ring when I get a call. It was not one of my contacts either.

I figured out the HTMLDB problem. The process executes conditionally based on the Value of the submitted buton, NOT the name of the submitted button. So I had a button in another region that had a different name, but had the same Value. (ie. "Go), so the process was executing when it shouldn't have been. This is a bug.
