How to silence speaker in facetime call on iOS7?

Hi,
When in facetime call on iOS7, if I reduce the volume using volume buttons to all the way down, it still does not silence/mute the speaker.
How can I silence the speaker in the facetime call on iOS7?
Thanks

Another line could have meant you receive a phone call. I reacted to what you said. You can check the information about Facetime. I'm not aware of anyway to mute that. This support document is in regards to using Facetime. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319 .

  • How do I answer a facetime call on my macbook air?

I received a factime call on my new MacBook Air laptop and was unable to answer it.  It kept ringing but there was no place to either accept or decline the call as there is on my iPad 2. How do I answer a facetime call?
Also, how do I enlarge the image on the MacBook Air to get it to be full screen?  I clicked the little green circle at the top of the image to maximize it, but it didn't do anything.

Do you know where is FaceTime call history on iOS 8?
I updated from iOS 7, and now it shows only the contacts and under contact it's only the time of the last call that was with that particular contact.
Tap on the "i" at the right of the contact. You'll see the other calls that are grouped in that entry.

How do you receive a FaceTime call on your iPad

Just my experience, but I've never had a screen protector on any of my iPads and have never felt the need to have one. You may want one if you don't use a case or cover, but otherwise I don't see that they're useful assuming you take basic care in keeping your screen clean and free of debris that might scratch.

  • How can I access my FaceTime call history?

I am trying to access my FaceTime call history....can anyone offer some guidance?

It doesn't show up for me either. If you have a Pc open Skype on the Pc and sign in with the account you are signed in on your iPad. Then try find your history on that. Hope it helps

  • How do I accept a FaceTime call when there isn't an accept button?

The first time I used FaceTime everything went fine. Now when I try to call the same person all I get is a soft ringing, I'm not sure if she gets the ringing or can just hear it over the phone line, but she doesn't get the accept bar on her screen either. Same thing happens when she calls me, no accept bar appears.

If you're having trouble using FaceTime, make sure the feature is turned on. Tap Settings on the Home screen and then tap FaceTime. Tap the On/Off button to turn it on or turn it Off and On.
You have to use the appropriate method for placing a FaceTime call, depending on the kind of device the person you're calling has. If you're calling an iPhone 4 user, you should use a phone number; if you're calling an iPad 2, an iPod touch, or a FaceTime for Mac user, you need to make the call using that person's e-mail address.
    Accepting a FaceTime call
If you're on the receiving end of a FaceTime call, accepting the call is about as easy as it gets. When the call comes in, just tap the Accept button to take the call or tap the Decline button to reject it.
If this is not working, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings.
Then keep the Powerbutton and the Homebutton pressed at the same time until you see the Apple logo on your iPad screen.
I use Skype, because I think it is working better;  http://itunes.apple.com/app/skype-for-ipad/id442012681?alreadyRedirected=1&mt=8

  • How to make 3-way facetime calls

I distinctly recall seeing demos during Keynote Addresses with 3-way video calls. I thought an iPhone5 could do that. But I find no mention of it in the User Manual. Can it be done? If so, how?

Why used Facetime? You can actually use iphone for teleconference... Just use the merge calls function http://myinstantmessaging.com

  • How can I mute a facetime call?

I'm using an iPad 4 running iOS 7.1.2.
How can I mute the sound from the caller on facetime?  I can mute my microphone so they can't hear me, but I can't mute the sound coming from their side.
In order to do this, I have to ask them to mute their microphone.
This is very annoying.  Sometimes, I need to monitor the other caller visually but do not need the sounds from their environment pouring out of my iPad speakers.  My sound level will go down to 1 bar but will not mute.
As soon as facetime is off, my iPad will mute (clicking the volume buttons on the side).  If I facetime again, with my iPad on mute, it automatically comes off mute and the lowest the sound will go down to is 1 bar.
Is this by design or is it a fault?

  • No Facetime calls with iOS7 - call has ended!

    Hi guys,
since I've updated my iphone 5 to iOS7, I can't call my girl-friend or many other people on facetime. My girlfriend for example has an iphone 4 with iOS 6.1.4. Facetime tries to connect, but instead of establishing the call, the call ends.
I tried everything so far, clearing the network settings, erasing all data/ settings and re-install iOS7. On top several re-registrations of facetime.
iMessage is working and I succeeded to call a colleague on his 4S with iOS7.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or if there is another reason. Problem occurs on wifi and 3G.
Anybody's got an idea, please tell me.
    Thanks a lot.
    Kind regards,
    Simon

Sure, here it is, with a simple net topology:

  • HT204053 Hi, my husband has downloaded ios7 and now he is receiving my iMessages/facetime calls.  Obviously we both use the same apple Id.  How do i keep using the same apple id on both devices, but disable my iMessages etc from his phone??

My husband has upgraded ios7.  His iphone and mine have the same apple id.  he has activated "icloud" which i have never activated before.  He is receiving my imessages and facetime calls. How do i disable this yet still continue using our shared apple id on both devices????
    thanks

Short term solution, do this on both devices
Settings > iCloud > Shut off anything you don't want shared
    Long term solution (actual solution)
You need seperate Apple IDs for iCloud. iTunes and iCloud are not the same.
    Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
On one of the devices go Settings > iCloud > Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID
This will seperate your Contacts, Calendars, Messages etc.
You both can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share apps and music

thanks.  your answer was correct, clearer.  I have another question, maybe you can answer.  I just purchase my ipad2 2 days ago.  yesterday, there was a sound.  today there is no sound.  there is a sound only in movies and you tube and music.  but no sound on all apps and keyboards.  I look it up and seems like ther are few that have this problem.  I called walmart coz I bought it there and they told me that they have not heard that before but if I can't fix it, just return it and exchange it with anew one since I have 14 days to do that.  I tried rebooting it and still won't work.  Should I just restore it?

  • HT204380 How does a user of multiple Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac laptop) designate which devices will ring when an incoming Facetime call comes in.  If all three are online, should they all be able to accept an incoming video call?

A friend of mine has an iPhone with a cellular data plan, a Macbook Pro, and a mini-iPad.  She's been using Facetime, but says that all of the devices used to ring at the time of an incoming Facetime call.  Now only her iPhone rings.  How do you set whichever device you want to ring?

James: I agree. Please keep them shorter.
The answers to both questions are no.
The iPad is NOT a computer replacement. It is a mobile device.
The iPad can not stream tro the iPhone nor an iPod.
    Hope this helps....
