How to silence the keypad chirp when arming or disarming the system?

The chirp when arming or disarming is so loud that it wakes my kids when I leave for work. There is no need for this ... especially if I do it from the app. Thanks, Shaun

Are you referring to the entry/exit delay sounds heard when entering your home while armed or the sound heard when exiting your home after arming? If this is not the sound your referring to there are a few options under the keypad's settings that may help.

Hi, is the problem just to update your apps on your iPad? Here is what you should check. Is the iTunes on your computer updated to the latest version? Does your iPad needs to be updated? Do you have enough storage on your iPad to do the update? On your device is your iCloud back up checked?
Go to Settings - iCloud - Backup/Storage - see if its checked, and try unchecking it before connecting it to the computer.

There is quite a bit of data that is stored in the System Properties. Run this little test app and it'll display all of the System Properties, what you are looking for may be contained in there:

How to retrieve the system used in an iview?

hello,
i'm currently having trouble retrieving the proper attribute of an iview to retrieve the system used by it.
it seem like the strings identifying the system in the iview differ in some iviews.
using either:
myIView.getAttribute(IAttriView.PORTAL_SYSTEM)
or
myContext.getAttributes("").get("System").get().toString()
produce errors.
while get("System") sometimes provides the correct system alias the attribute is none existant for other iviews where the string would be "Systemalias".
IAttriView.PORTAL_SYSTEM doesn't seem to work at all.
i did implement fail safe code if the attribute isn't present, however i don't know how to retrieve the system attribute without doing a case switch or something similar for all the different strings, which i would prefer not to do.
also, is there an easy way to retrieve all iviews which use a specific system without parsing the whole pcd and checking the attributes?

Email addresses into what?
Each user should have their own account and password to log in. Each is independent of the other. So for Mail each has their own Mail account if they set one up in Mail.
That's the way it should be set up. Are you using a single account and allowing multiple users to use that one single account? If so then in Mail at least you could set up individual mail accounts. But everything else in the system is shared.

It would of course be ideal if Nokia provided a user option on the E6 to specifically switch the start up tone on or off without effecting other device sounds... like they do on a wide variety of their other telephones. hint hint

Not that I know of, but you can turn it off completely by going to System Preferences...>Sound>Sound Effects>Alert volume: (Uncheck) Play feedback when volume is changed.

What version of Premiere Elements are you working with and on what computer operating system is it running?
For now I will assume Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
In the Expert workspace, go to and click on Instant Movie Tab at bottom of workspace in order to bring up the "Choose a movie theme dialog".
After you select the Instant Movie Theme, click next.
At this point, you should see the Presonalize Movie Dialog.
Customize the various settings, including Music.
An alternative way might be to let the Instant Movie go to completion with the Theme's music. Then right click the finished Instant Movie on the Timeline and select Break Apart InstantMovie. Then edit the Instant Movie, including deleting what you do not want and inserting you own music.
The Premiere Elements version number and the computer operating system on which it is running should help us to customize the response further.

How to silence the startup sound?

My MacPro emits the startup chord, loundly, from the internal speaker. All other sounds come from the external speakers. When I get home late it's like to wake the dead if I turn on my Mac.
This did not work this way before, the startup sound played through the external speakers and I could turn them down.
Any ideas how to kill the startup sound or make it play through the external speakers?

Well, you know that's a funny thing, because I didn't actually intend to mute the startup chime. I just wanted it routed to the external speakers where I could control the volume properly, like the first poster. But the chime doesn't sound out of my external speakers. I don't hear it at all.
And I don't care. If my Mac fails some test, it isn't going to work right, I'll find out about it anyway. I also don't care because in 20 years of owning Macs, if there was a problem with my Mac I can't remember any of them being due to a failed self test, it was usually a hard disk failure or something on the motherboard while I still got the normal startup chime. The power on self test does not, for example, tell PowerBook G4 owners about the widespread problem that their lower RAM slot has failed. I just haven't found the chime to be useful, while many users find it to be extremely annoying. Apple could just flash the front panel LED differently.
The only time I've ever heard the failed self test tones is when I've played them back from some web page or utility that tells you what they mean.

Basically you can't! If you tell it to generate one, then that's only sent to the user. Why not enter your own random password or let the user pick their own through some sort of self service function?
