How to simplify the Window AD Security admin?

Does anyone use window AD security? We use window AD, so we created group like BOE report writer, BOE admin. I also created application group, like Application webi. Application desktop, etc., The BOE report writer is member of Application WEBI, since the window AD group canu2019t create the subgroup. However, I also have these Business function groups, for example, the Executive User that can access particular universes and reports. How to simplify to tie to these together, so BOE report writer user can assign to different business functional groups besides assigned user one by one?

Hi Sharon,
So in enterprise you will have 2 group types it sounds like from your description.
AD groups that are mapped into the CMC from Active Directory
and Enterprise Groups created in BO CMC.
You can make AD groups members of Enterprise groups but not the other way around.
You can assign permissions to AD groups directly or make the AD group a member of enterprise groups as you stated so they can inherit permissions.
If you are going to assign permissions to AD groups please make sure you are on XIR2 SP2 FP 2.4 as the way the CMS queries AD and updates the graph was fixed in that version to allow the AD plugin to function if something happens on the AD side.
You can assign any group any permission (folders, users, applications, universes, etc)
Is there something more specific you are looking to do?
Also to note: Permissions have been greatly enhanced in XI 3.0 You may be interested in trying this out as well where you can create custom access levels that have access to any combination of access rights in the CMC.
Regards,
Tim

    Sanjeev:
Maybe you can help. I haven't been able to resolve this one "small" problem which is preventing me from rolling out iWS6.0 SP2. I created a new instance of the server using "Add Server" so that I have 2 Web sites (e.g. test1.domain.com and test2.domain.com), but the 2nd server instance is pointing to the same HTML location as the first (i.e. http://test2.domain.com takes you to the same location as http://test1.domain.com). What do I need to change and where to fix this? Need a VERY quick answer to this to implement a production Web server. I've tried the suggestions made so far (see: http://softwareforum.sun.com/servlet/ProcessRequest?RHIVEID=181&RPAGEID=135&HOID=50B500000008000000966A0000&UCATEGORY_0=_23_%24_6_&UCATEGORY_S=0&USEARCHCONTEXT_QUESTION_0=server+instances&USEARCHCONTEXT_QUESTION_S=0) but nothing has resolved this problem. If you have any ideas at all, I'd appreciate if you could let me know :)
    Thanks!

How to extend the windows 2003 C drive ..? one of my DC is running out of space.

If you make a BartPE bootable ISO or CD,  you can add a 'DiskPart' folder in your Plugins folder.   Then put the following contents inside that 'DiskPart' folder.  The file name should be "DiskPart.inf"
This will allow you to boot from the BartPE CD, open a command prompt, and use Diskpart like you would from within Windows normally.    We extended C drives of old systems (VMs) many times this way.   I'm reasonably sure our BartPE CD is based
    of Server 2003 Standard SP2.

    Ranjith,
I think the answer for your 1st que is NO. In the sense, you can run the code, but it may not work precisely as it is supposed to...
A target can be said to be an RT, if & only if it has an RTOS installed in it, not just Windows, which is not a real-time OS.
Youcan run the existing code in Windows, but as I said earlier, it may not give you the actual results.
Finally, hereafter, pl dont use the term 'box' for a PXI. It is a chassis with a main module that runs on Windows or an embedded RT processor/conrtoller that runs on an RTOS like VxWorks or Phsr Lap.
Hope this helps you to some extent...

The Radeon 9000 driver works for the Radeon 7500 card.  I have successfully used it on a T43 with Vista Ultimate x86

Unfortunately no.  The Radeon 9000 driver should bring your graphics score up to close to 2, but it will not get it high enough to enable Aero support.

  • How to Change the Windows Title in EP7.0

    Hi
Can anyone provide some pointers on how to change the windows title bar in EP 6.0
We would like to remove the words "SAP Netweaver Portal" from the title.
I have found OSS note  695903 however this refers to EP6.0
    Thanks in advance.
    Ian

    Hi,
For people who have no access to the note, here are the steps involved. The same steps are listed in the note :
    1) Logon to your portal with your user who has super_admin role.
    2) Go to the System Administration tab -> System Configuration tab.
    3) Go to the Service Configuration -> Central Configuration.
    4) Change the portal.html.head.title part. Do no forget to save the changes you made.
    5) Restart the j2ee server to be able to see the changes on the portal

I have an iPhone4s. When I install apps, I have to give my Apple password first.  That’s okay. The last few apps I tried to download have opened another security window before they will install.  The window says, “Security info Required.  To help insure the security of your Apple ID we require additional information”  When I select okay, the Apple ID Password window opens and asks for my Apple password a second time.
It doesn't happen with every app and I’m concerned that these apps may be trying to collent my password.  Is Apple really doing a double check on my password?

  • How to change the Window Title on a per build spec basis?

I would like to be able to make 4 "build specificiations" against the same Startup-VI and be able to have the Window Title different in each of the output executables.   I know how to change the Window Title for the VI itself, but for some reason, I don't see the ability to override this information in Source File Settings --> Customize VI Properties dialog of the build specification.    Is there perhaps a way to do this programattically with VI server?  Perhaps there is a way I can define a unique symbol on each of the build specs and then do a case statement in code to determine which title to display based on the symbol that was defined?
    Thanks,

You can use the appropriately named Window Title property. In your project you can define conditional disable symbols (right-click on the project node and select Properties) and then use a conditional disable structure in your code. However, these symbols apply to the entire project, not to a specific executable. Thus, a better route would be to use the executable name (also accessible via a property), if possible, or some other distinction between the executables. What makes the executables different?

  • How to get the windows username in jsx

    Hello,
I have a JSX script in "My Documents\Adobe Scripts" to make it trusted script. I have another text file I need to read from JSX. Since the location depends on logged in user, I need to find the windows username. If anyone know how to get the windows username from jsx please reply.
    Thank you very much.
    Regards
    Nima.

    Hey,
You can get username like this:
    var myUsername = $.getenv('username');
You could also get My Documents folder like this:
    var myDocFolder = Folder.myDocuments;
    Hope that helps.

  • How to edit the Authorisation DB (authenticate-admin, the authenticate-admin-30 or the authenticate-session-owner-or-admin)

    Hi,
Since i updated to os 10.9, i had to change my script which helps me to create a powerusers group, which has more rights than a normal user. It was no problem to change in the most rules the group key from admin to powerusers. I did this with the help of the security authorizationdb and the plistbuddy command. What I do not understand is why i can't change anything in the authenticate-admin, the authenticate-admin-30 or the authenticate-session-owner-or-admin rule. Anyone has an idea? I used the following command:
    security authorizationdb read authenticate-admin > /tmp/test.plist
    /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set :group powerusers" /tmp/test.plist
    security authorizationdb write authenticate-admin < /tmp/test.plist
The first two lines work ok but it won't write it back into the auth DB. The same command even won't work if i leave away the second line and change nothing in the plist file. Does anyone has tips or ideas how to resolve this? or inputs why it doesn't work?
    Thanks for your help!!

Thanks for the link. I used it for my script and was able to change the group in a lot of rules from admin to powerusers. For example:
    security authorizationdb read system.preferences > $mod
    /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set :group powerusers" $mod
    security authorizationdb write system.preferences < $mod
This works fine. I could change 25 rules with it. But the rules authenticate-admin, authenticate-admin-30 or authenticate-session-owner-or-admin can't be written back into the authorisation file and I don't know why. I used exactly the same code that I used for the other rules.

    Hi,
In my requirement when I create any window in SAP Script, in the output the border around the window should not be displayed.

    Hi.
I assume that in the window's code, there is a "BOX" statement. Just comment it out and you are done. If you are using SMARTFORM, there is a respective checkbox in the windows properties.
    Reward please if it helps.
