Any Help me how to singup metalink because i want some oracle patches when i'm upgrade the database he ask metalink username and password.

How can I view previous soft-closed service requests on Metalink?

Hi,
I'm trying to find a previous service request that I lodged on Metalink that has been closed normally (soft-closed), however all I can find are currently open ones, and hard-closed ones (if I tick a box). How can I use Metalink to view these previous service requests?

I believe they automatically get hard-closed after a period of time (default 14 days unless you ask for more)? How old are the soft-closed ones? See metalink note: 166650.1 Working Effectively With Support

What and how to download the required stuff from metalink for 9.0 financial

Need same user of metalink to be the user of OTN

I am the DBA of a group. I created a generic user for metalink to everybody enters with this user. And I wanted to do the same with OTN, I created the OTN account with my own mail, but the only way to enter to OTN is with my email. And I don't want everybody has to know my email to enter to OTN.
What I don't know is how to relate the metalink user with the OTN user, and not to enter to OTN with the email anymore. This is the way I have my own userid, in both systems is the same.
Can someone help me?

Unfortunately, these logins are different and OTN login is in the format of email address.

Arch Linux iso and img metalinks

I've finally created a script to automatically generate metalinks for the current iso and img downloads using the most recent official mirrorlist
The generated metalinks are currently listed here: http://xyne.archlinux.ca/arch
I might move the links page around on the site but the metalink directory should not change. If any of the site admins would like to include these on the downloads page, send me an email so we can work out the optimal way of doing it (e.g. I could create a custom page that you could scrape and show you how to update the metalinks via the web interface when mirrorlists/downloads change).
For anyone not familiar with metalinks, here's an example of how to use one with aria2c:
aria2c --follow-metalink=mem -j45 -C45 http://xyne.archlinux.ca/metalinks/archlinux-2009.02-ftp-x86_64.iso.metalink
aria2c should be capable of downloading from the metalink and the torrent simultaneously but I gave up trying to get it to work after a couple of minutes.
The Firefox add-on "DownThemAll!" can also handle metalinks.
archlinux-*-all.metalink contains all of the files. Don't use this link unless you either:
a) really need all of the files
b) know how to select files from a metalink

exactly, most download apps (FTP clients, non-torrent P2P clients, most download managers, and browsers, with the exception of Opera) don't support torrents directly. and there are many situations where P2P uploading is banned or frowned upon, like corporate/university networks, places with slow uplink, misconfigured hardware, etc...
torrents are awesome, but they're not a perfect fit in every situation. metalinks give you alternates, failover options, P2P-like features - so if there's any way for a download to complete, it will. there's the slightly added complexity & effort of getting em in place, but once that's automated it's usually pretty helpful.

You will have to contact your CSI administrator to create a username for you. If you already have a username (which you used to login to Metalink), then login to My Oracle Support (ask your CSI administrator to approve the "Pending User Request" in case you have one). Upgrading oracle 9i, 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.4

For upgrading oracle 9i, 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.4, I need to install patch #3095277 which is available on metalink website. But if I want to register for this website, I need to have Support Identifier. So could anyone plz tell me where i can get the Support Identifier. Or anyother website where I can get this patch.

Capture change on certain columns only in ODI,

Need you help to suggest the proper way to meet the following requirements.
Requirements”
(a) Source– Oracle 11g, need to track changes to 2 columns only - [Table A, Column A1] & [Table B, Column B1]. These 2 columns may be changed many times during a day.
(b) Every 4 hours, based on what are captured from (a), find out the distinct rows changed (i.e. based on primary keys of Table A, Table B) , and only ship the most current row images for these rows to target
(c) Target – Sybase, meet to perform transformations on the 2 column values (i.e. Column A1, Column B1) to map to target table [Table C, Column C1]
From my limited understanding, I think trigger-based CDC is to be used. However, not sure how to do this , especially (a) and (b). For example, where do we configure trigger logic to achieve (a) from the ODI studio ?

If your friendly with your source system DBA then I prefer Asynchronous CDC , its less intrusive than triggers, it does however need a bit of knowledge on how to monitor it, Metalink / Support has plenty of info.

The guide I've linked to uses an ODI WAit for Data to trigger the consumption of changes, you have stated every 4 hours so I would skip the ODI wait for data and simply schedule your package to run every 4 hours.

OWA_CONTENT not working.

Challenge: Need to upload file from PC to the database.
I found instructions on how to do this (Metalink doc ID: Note:77573.1)
And followed them to the point.
Problem:
Theoreticaly file from PC should be uploaded into Oracle and placed into OWS_CONTENT table (and other ones), and file parameter (that picked for upload) should contain file name.
But instead I receive contents of the file picked for upload. And no information automatically inserted into the OWS_CONTENT tables.
Receiving contents of the file limits my upload to 32K (max length of VARCHAR2). This is not good.
Please help.

This code shows me CONTENTS of the file that was uploaded. If it is a text file, it shows me all the text from the file.
Am I missing anything from configuration of OAS or Oracle8i? Do I need anything in HTML or PL/SQL?

Oracle8i 8.1.6 on Linux and Unix
WEBSYS schema has OWAS_CONTENT with execute granted to me.
Tables in WEBSYS schema have Insert, Update, Delete privileges granted to me (do I even need this?).

Huge user trace files being generated under udump

last few days one of my database is generating huge number of user trace files under udump. I tried to investigate in alert.log file. But as I am not very expert to analyze the alert.log file I could not find the cause behind it. Only the ORA-00600: internal error code is found there. But it is a generic error . Please help.

I am curious as to how to tell (via metalink or otherwise) if a Patch to Reports 6i has been released? I filed a TAR back in May that was dealing with the Servlet Inteface to the reports engine. What is the current version (i.e 6.0.8.x.x) that should be used?
FYI: The tar dealt with HTML and bookmarks would cause the JVM of the servlet engine to crash.

I need the patch #2376472 from Metalink - Can anyone tell me how 2 get it

Please note I have a CSI # which I was told has expired. I need to obtain this patch and am disparately trying to obtain it with little success thus far
You would think Oracle would let third party support people download and distribute as is such a patch but Oracle does not allow such distribution.
Can anyone one advise me on the best means to obtain this patch - Getting a cheap metalink account would probably be my best bet but Oracle makes getting such an account very hard to do. You would think this would not be such a huge problem but it is !

I believe in general the cheapest Metalink access is to purchase a copy of Personal Oracle with a support contract.
From a legal standpoint, though, I would tend to question why you are downloading a patch for a product whose support contract has expired. If you have a product that needs patching and an expired CSI, that would imply to me that you purchased a product and an initial support contract, then let the support contract expire. If that's the case, you'd no longer be eligible for patch updates. You'd need to talk to your Oracle Sales rep to figure out how to bring the support agreement current.
