How to slow down audio book

How do I slow down an audio book on iPod Touch?

On the right side of the playing screen under the sscrubber bar there shoud be a box that can say 1/2X. 1X or 2X. Those are the playback speeds. Tap the box to cycle through the speeds.

  • How do you slow down audio files?

Hey everyone! I was wondering if there is a way that you can slow down audio (not midi) in Logic. I really need that ability so I can start transcribing a lot of pieces for my music lessons...
If Logic doesn't have anything like that, is there a free software I could download (that is NOT one of those trial ones that only play 3 min of the song or can't export)? If it costs somethin', which one is cheapest but has good enough quality?
    Cheers, thanks!

Have you tried to use the Time and Pitchmachine within the Sample Editor of Logic. To a certain degree you could certainly slow it down. If youre not happy with that, you probably would have to use another software or buy a third party plugin (like serato's pitch n' time)...

  • Slow down audio for language learning

My students want to decrease the speed of audio mp3 files for language learning purposes. How can this be done in iTunes on the following devices?
    (a) on a Mac
    (b) on Windows
    (c) on an iPhone
    (d) on an iPod
    (e) on any other mp3 player you can name
If not iTunes, in another player?

Thanks, Kappy. Those desktop apps would be too pricey for my language learners. I use Audacity for this and other purposes, but it may require more steps than they can handle or have patience for.
They want to slow down audio files on their handheld devices. I see you can speed up a podcast 1x - 2x, but I don't see that you can slow it down.
Your suggestions pointed me in the right direction to search for an iPhone/iPad app. For any of you musicians and
    linguists out there, I found
Anytune - Slow Down Your Music to Speed Up Your Learning

  • HT1848 how do i delete audio books from my iPod nano 5th generation

How do I delete audio books from my iPod Nano 5th generation. Have deleted from iTunes library & chose sync but it is still on my iPod.

What you do is this; the next time your ipod is jacked to the USB port on you computer and it shows under "Devices" in your Itunes library. click on that folder (your ipod) and it will have eight folders above the Ipod's state.
That was step one; step two is once you see this bar above the ipod's state in the Ipod's folder under "devices" scroll down the horizontal bar until you see audiobooks
Itune's is very user friendly and will give you the option to pick and choose or pick all. to get the audio books off your ipod pick and choose the audio books you want on you're ipod

  • How do I add audio books to my shuffle

How do I add audio books to my shuffle

If this is a 4th (or 3rd) gen shuffle, and you use automatic syncing for loading songs...  Select the shuffle in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (buttons) starting with Summary.  Click on Books there.  This is the Books tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync audiobooks to the shuffle.  Set it up as desired, and click Apply.
NOTE:  If your shuffle is currently NOT set up for automatic syncing, its content will be replaced by content selected in the sync settings.
If you are NOT using automatic syncing for songs, so you have been loading songs manually by dragging them to the shuffle in iTunes, then you should NOT do the above.  Instead, you can load audiobooks the same way.  Drag the books you want to the shuffle from your Books library in iTunes.
If this is a 1st or 2nd gen shuffle, it is different.  Please post back.

  • Can anyone tell me how to slow down a commerical track in Garage Band 10.00.  I was able to do it quite easily before I updated, but now find I am unable to do it.  Would be grateful for any help

Can anyone tell me how to slow down a commercial track in Garage band 10.00  I was able to do this in the earlier version of Garage Band quite easily and it is a good tool for being able to teach new dances, but I find I am unable to do it in the new version, which has just been updated.  I would be grateful for any help.

    Just found it.
Select your track with song imported from iTunes, open the Track Editor window, and in the head of the track editor  and press the "Flex" marker. Make sure "Enable Flex" is set,
Then change the tempo of your project.

  • How to slow down too many deliveries of daily return_job?

Does anyone know how to slow down too many deliveries of dail return_job at 00:30?
    I'm using following version.
    $ /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/imsimta version
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-5.02 (built Oct 12 2007; 32bit)
    libimta.so 6.3-5.02 (built 17:15:31, Oct 12 2007; 32bit)
SunOS hostname 5.9 Generic_122300-13 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-480RAbout 7,000 delivery notification messages was created by return_job in 1 minute
and then the smarthost could not process these messages and froze.

    Thanks, Shane.
So, I want to control the transmission rate to smarthost, especially mails created by return_job.You can throttle back the rate at which Messaging Server attempts to send emails to the smarthost by decreasing the maxjobs setting from 7 to say 2 and increasing the threaddepth to say 32. This will reduce the number of simultaneous active connections and also the rate at which new delivery jobs are created.
    http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php/Threaddepth_Channel_Option
Also since you are using the daemon keyword you may want to try the multiple option (instead of single_sys).
    http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php/Multiple%2C_addrsperfile%2C_single%2C_single_sys_Channel_Options
So these combined give you the following channel definition:
    ! tcp_local
tcp_local smtp nomx daemon smarthost.example.com multiple remotehost inner switchchannel identnonenumeric subdirs 20 maxjobs 2 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver maysaslserver saslswitchchannel tcp_auth missingrecipientpolicy 0 loopcheck threaddepth 32
    tcp-daemonRegards,
    Shane.

how do you import audio books so they are like the ones you buy from itunes?

There are a number of tools for merging the files into one. Personally I don't bother, but you'll find links on my page which describes how to manage Audiobooks on iPods.

  • Can you slow down a voicemail you are listening to? I can't understand what someone said to me because they spoke too fast. I just want to know how to slow down the voicemail so I can understand her if it's possible.

How can you slow down a voicemail you are listening to? Someone sent me a voicemail and they spoke way too fast for me to understand them. I want to know how to slow down the voicemail so I can understand them if that is possible.

I have to say, this is so weird because it's actually become this way in the past week maybe, and I'm sure me saying this here will be disputed, ridiculed and belittled, and that's absolutely fair, but I've got to say it... up until a few days ago, my iTunes sync/backup area really would keep more than one backup for my one, single iPhone. They were all timed and dated with a drop-down menu (which appeared if I clicked the restore button) to choose which one I wanted to roll back to, for example. Sure, I'd read about the three backups thing etc. etc. and perhaps I got that wrong or misunderstood, but I can honestly say, I only ever had at the most two backups, that I could drop-down and choose to restore from. They were there. Same iPhone. Different dates.
At the time, when this seemed to be the case, the backing-up process took quite a while. I would leave it to progress while I went and made a cup of tea, come back and it still wasn't finished running. So, not really AGES, but a little while.
Now, when I perform a backup, the progress bar almost shoots across to a finish. I'll 'fess up... that worries me most of all. I can live without the luxury of a menu of backups... but if it does it once, I'd like to be sure it does it at all.
Much more importantly though, thank you for your replies so far.
Any further input, even if it's to belittle or shame is totally welcome. I'd like to understand this a bit more.
    Thanks again.

  • I have an ipod nano but i dontknow how can syc the audio books on it?!

how can i use audio books in my ipod nano?!
    i have a windows7 pc

Configure the audiobooks to sync to your iPod from under the iPod's Books configuration tab in iTunes.
To access this configuration tab, plug in your iPod and select it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes to bring yourself to the iPod's Summary tab.  Now locate the Books tab and select it.  Here you can configure what and how audiobooks are synced to the device.
If you make any changes to this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button on in the lower right hand corner.

How do I remove audio books from my ipod touch  I received from the library using overdrive media console?

To remove a book from a mobile device plug the device into the USB port and open iTunes. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad in the Device section of the left hand menu of iTunes so that you can see the device’s subcontents. For an MP3 book select the Music subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete.  For a WMA book (Windows), select the Book subsection, right click on the book and choose Delete.

  • How to burn iTunes audio book to CD that will play in my car

I purchased two audio books from the iTunes music store. I have no intention of sitting at my computer for twelve hours listening to the books. I intend to listen to the books on my car CD player during long road trips. When I try to convert the files I get a message that says that they can't be converted because they are protected files. How can I play them on a CD in my car?

I THINK my iTunes preferences were already set to "Audio CD" on my first, failed attempt. For this failed attempt I simply hit the burn icon in the upper right of iTunes. When I followed your advise my preferences were already set as you suggested but this time I used one of the pull-down menus along the top to select "burn playlist to ....". This worked perfectly. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.
