How to solve error (-23) when updating my iPhone to iOS5?
I was about to download the iOS5 on my iPhone but it kept on saying that there was a problem when downloading and "An unknown error occured (-23)". Can anyone help me? My iTunes and Mac's software are up to date.
I had the same error (-23) but i managed to update my iphone after a few days... I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on my laptop and it's work... No more error msg popping out and the updating went smoothly .
p.s. Yuppie finally able to updated my iphone to iOS5..

You will get that message if you tried to downgrade the firmware. It is usually associated with jailbreaking, and if that is the case there is often no way to fix it.
Try to force it into restore mode:
Make sure you are following the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again.
If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
When the iPhone finally appears in iTunes, choose "restore from backup". -
Anyone know how to solve Error -50 when downloading a purchased show?
Every time I try to download my shows, it will download for a little bit and then the message error -50 comes up and the downloading stops. I have tried to solve it using the itunes support by deleting the download folder and trying again and nothing is working... Any help would be great!

I have error 3194 when updating my iPhone 4s from 5.1.1 to 6.1.2
I have facrtory unlocked iPhone 4s , iOS 5.1.1
I've downloaded official firmware 6.1.2 and tried to update through itunes with holding (Shift) + update . but I have the error 3194 and i've followed all the steps on the articales to fix this error but nothing happened and the error still.
from the methods i tried is to edit (hosts) file , so please if there is any other idea will be great.
and i dont want to update to the latest 6.1.3 iOS so i cannot just hit (update) on iTunes.

After I upgraded iTunes, iTunes doesn't recognize CD in the drive, apparently isn't the default player. It won't let me set iTunes as the default player, I get the error message "An error occurred when updating the default player for audio files types." I tried Whitesides' remedy (changing Read Only status in folder in Windows) but it didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.
JOddly enough. I think I just solved it. It looks like, for some reason, my computer has about 8 different "iTunes music" folders, and I've been saving my music to the wrong one. Neat. Music now imports and plays as it should. Copying things over is going to be so fun tonight!

I tried running pacman -Syyu, but that did not seem to solve the problem. There is /var/lib/pacman/local/openssl-0.9.8l-1/
directory but it is empty. When running pacman -S openssl, I get the above error message as well but it spans for hundreds of buffer lines. In the end I end up with this:

Sounds to me like openssl is installed on your system but the info on it is now missing from the local pacman database (/var/lib/pacman/local). In other words, pacman forgot that you installed it. So in your second clip of code, pacman is complaining that files belonging to openssl exist in your filesystem, since you do have it installed but it no longer knows that.
Don't know if this is the proper way to fix it, but I imagine forcing a reinstall of openssl (pacman -Sf openssl) should get pacman to reinstall openssl so that it knows it is installed.

seemed to have fixed it. Did not know of the force reinstall option. The necessary directories in /var/lib/pacman/local/openssl have been created.
