HOW TO SOLVE ITUNES NOT OPENING!!

Question

Go to Start> Control Panel > add/remove programs
Uninstall (remove) All iPod, iTunes and Quicktime
Do NOT restart the computer
Go to Start> My Computer > (Local Disk C:) > Program Files
From there Right-Click and Delete The iTunes and Quicktime Folders
Then Open the iPod Folder and Right-Click and Delete The iPod Bin folder
If it says it cannot delete due to an iPodservice.exe Alert > Hit CTRLALTDEL
Click on the Processes Tab and Stop the iPod service by selecting the ipodservice.exe in the list and hitting end process
then Continue to Right-Click and Delete the Bin Folder again
Go to Your (C:) Drive again and Go into Documents and Settings
Then from there go into Your user name or The administrators account
in there you should see a folder called Local Settings
(if you do not see it -- go to Tools at the top bar, then folder options, click on the View Tab, Check off the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" Hit apply, hit OK)
in Local Settings you will see a TEMP folder
right Click and Delete the TEMP Folder
Restart Your Computer
Go to apple.com/ipod/download for updater
Install and Run
Go to apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html for QT
Install and Run
Go to apple.com/iTunes for iTunes
SAVE TO DESKTOP
Run msconfig
1. On the Start menu, click Run. A Run window (command prompt) appears.
2. Type msconfig in the Open field and click OK. The System Configuration Utility opens.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Select the "Selective Startup" option.
5. Deselect the "Load Startup Items" checkbox.
6. Click the Startup tab.
7. Select the "iTunesHelper" and "qttask" checkboxes in the list.
8. Click the Services tab.
9. Make sure that "Hide All Microsoft Services" is selected.
10. Click Disable All.
11. Select the iPodService checkbox in the list.
12. Click OK.
13. Click Restart.
-you will get the System Config. Util. again and just say OK and then Choose to Continue without Restarting
-installed itunes From Desktop
-set back to normal startup
Reverse the MSconfig process that is above
-reboot
Try opening itunes again

I too have had the same problems after upgrading to iTunes6. I followed the above instructions but was unable to delete the iTunes and Quicktime folders. I recieved an error message say "Cannot delete QuickTimeLocalized.qtr: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." when I tried to delete Quicktime. I recieved the same message for the iTunesLocalized.qtr file when I tried to delete iTunes. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
