How to solve loss of power adaptor A1097

I have a Cinema HD 23 inch display without power supply.
How to solve this other than finding the lost adaptor A1097?

Have you tried this?- Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Old macbook - need power adaptor

    I have a macbook from around 2007/2008. The power adaptor just died and of course now I can't turn my laptop on since it isn't charged. I know Apple doesn't sell these macbooks anymore. How can I get another power adaptor? The ones on the apple site are newer and won't fit my current laptop. Thanks!

    Apple has never changed the MagSafe connector since it's introduction (they have changed the way it gets connected to the cable to make it more sturdy, but not the connector itself).
    As has been mentioned, you can use the new chargers on your system.  If, by chance, the new charger does not work for you, Apple did release a firmware update:

    I'm getting kernel panics each day as I shut down, the message of restarting by holding down the power button appears on the screen - it began about a month ago and. Do you have any ideas of how to solve the problem? I've copied the logs that I found for each kernel panic that still have the message logged. Please help if you can, I have read some of the other comments and perhaps it has something to do with my anti-virus software being on at start up. I have copied the log here. Any advice will be welcome.

    com.huawei.driver.HuaweiDataCardACMData            4.2
    Two experiments you can try.
    1.  Boot in safe mode and see if you can shut down normally.  All thise additions won't be running in safe mode so this test would indicate it is one of them causing the problem.
    2. Uninstall all the intego VirusBarrier stuff.  That's my first guess and the troublemaker.

  • How to solve power error when using USB camera adapter in your camera

    Hello Everyone,
    First of all I wanna say reducing the output of the USB camera adapter from 100mA to 20mA just to save battery life is by far the most incredible adjustment in the history of @)#*$#%*($#!
    I know most of us bought the USB Camera adapter so we can use it as a USB adapter for the Camera (saves us from taking the memory card on and off the camera) but sadly the "Ginues Apple" reduced it to 20mA which decreases the range of cameras and flash drives that will work with it. I use Gopro Hero 3+ black and everytime I plug it with the adapter to my ipad I keep on seeing this @#@$#@ power error. I didn't want to waste the expensive adapter so I tried to look for a micro sd card reader but I don't think 20mA readers still exist.
    Now to solve this problem is very simple add a power source to help that 20mA up, most of the my friends bought a powered port hub but it's not my type because it's bulky, needs an outlet and not portable.
    So I found a better solution on how you can add a power source and still be portable, the answer is power bank or portable charger.
    Things you need:
    Camera
    USB camera adapter (Ginues Apple product)
    Power bank (I'm using 8,400 mAh)
    Dual USB Male to 5 Pin Mini USB Y Cable
    Ipad
    Procedure:
    Camera --- 5 Pin Mini USB ------------------ USB camera adapter ---------- Ipad
                                                   '---------- Power Bank
    Attach you camera to the 5 pin mini usb then the USB1 male to the female apple's USB camera adapter then to the Ipad. = this will show the power error.
    Then attach the USB2 to the power bank/portable charger to power it up.
    your welcome

  • No Power Adaptor--How to Restore

    I was trying to restore my old IPOD mini to factory settings. My problem is, in the second step I need to plug the Ipod into the power adaptor it originally came with, however I have lost it over the years. I really don't care if it is restored anymore, I just want to get it working again but can't because it is stuck with a display on the screen of a power adaptor (which unfortunately I do not have). Is there anything I can do to make this display go away and get it working again?

    Connect the iPod to a 6-pin FireWire port on a computer, or its power adaptor, or a car adaptor, or a unit such as the iPod Hi-Fi, or try using this method to charge the iPod. If there's a retail Apple Store nearby, they will likely charge it enough for free if it's brought in as well.

  • How to solve the problem of iPhone 5s power drain?

    I am using iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.1
    I have a problem from 3 days ago. The battery keeps draining and the phone keeps warm in the whole day.
    I found that mstreamd keeps starting every minute. From some online communities, it seems like the source of the problem. Their solution is to JB it and remove mstreamd, but I don't want to do so.
    Steps to reproduce the symptom:
    I don't know
    Steps I have tried:
    1. reboot
    2. reset the iPhone
    3. disable iCloud
    All can't help.
    How to solve this? Thanks.

  • Have a C310a that will not start. Have +32VDC from Ac power adaptor, using on a Mac.

    Have a PhotoSmart Premium e-All-in-One PrinterC310a, it will not turn on. We have been using it on an iMac and a MacBook, both OS X 10.6.7. Have been thru the HP resetting of the power adaptor etc, so I checked at the printer plug and had +32VDC, which is the correct input voltage. The printer still will not start, what am I missing?

    Hey zzzzip! I know its a basic question, but have you tried using a different outlet that you know works? Here is the document on troubleshooting power issues:

  • HELP i cant charge my zen micro! (power adaptor troubl

    I own a pink creative zen micro 5gig MP3 player. when i bought it, a special edition USB.2.0 power adaptor came with it, which is exclusi've to the 5gig zen micro mp3 players. this adaptor plugs into the wall, and charges the player, meaning i can charge my player anywhere without a computer.
    well, now its stopped working. the charge just does not go through to the player, and i know it is because of a problem with the adaptor and not the player because the player still works when i connect it to a computer.
    this is seriously irritating beacuse for some reason the player takes a huge amount of time to charge using my computer (as i write this it has been charging for almost and hour and the little charge level indicator in the corner of the screen has not changed from "completely empty")
    what could be causing this and how do i fix it's

    Starryeyefly wrote:
    well, i've just figured out that for my player to charge through the computer, the zen software that comes with the player and allowes you to transfer music has to be installed. (kinda dumb for me not to realise, but it does seem rather unnessesary)
    It's not needed, at least you need to update to one of the later firmwares. I suggest using the ..0 firmware, but you want to charge your battery up a bit first before trying to update.
    With the ..0 firmware (and the later v2 firmwares) you can lock the charger (slide the power button over) then connect to USB and all the power is dedicated to charging the player.
    but that still dosent solve the problem with the wall adaptor. no indicator shows when i plug it in, it just wont charge.
    i used to leave the adaptor plugged into the wall when my player had finished charging, with the power socket left on. im starting to think that it may have screwed the adaptor.
    I'm not sure what's up with your player or adapter. An adapter could fail but it's very rare. If you have a voltage meter you can check the outputs from the first and fourth pin, which should be 5V. Be careful though.
    Leaving the adapter plugged in won't cause any issue to it, other than wasting a little electricity.

  • Power Adaptor, Battery  or left I/O board Going Out?

    This is driving me crazy, Im slowly losing power..
    I have a MBP 17 That I purchased in mid January from Apple directly.
    Battery is no longer Charging, The Light on The Magsafe light is very Dim but shows Green, not visible unless the adaptor is covered or in a dark room.
    This started seven days ago. At first I was able to charge but it has progressively gotten worse. Four days ago the battery information stopped showing if the battery was charging. But Looking at the Charge remaining Battery information in System Profiler showed it was slowly charging back up.. Now It is slowly Using the battery while Plugged in, As in about 1% per hour. With the Better Energy Savings set. Even with the MBP off It will not charge the Battery...
    Light On the Adaptor will not go off, even when the adaptor is unplugged from the MPB. Light will only go out when unplugged from the wall.
    I plan to run Hardware test when I get back home some time early next week.
    Steps I have taken.
    Cleaned Receptor for the Magsafe adaptor.
    Checked to make sure no Pins were stuck, bent or missing.
    Tried Both the Plug adaptors,
    Tried different wall outlets - My House, My Friends House, at the local Coffee Shop.. No change
    Reset the PRAM and NVRAM
    Reset SMC

    When you live outside of the United States, it can be difficult to obtain the excellent service that we in the US enjoy. I don't know who you contacted in Chile or in the US since I do not see a support site for Chile--only Brazil. But I'll give you the page for contacting Apple for Support and Service:
    http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html
    If the problem first appeared after 13 months, then you are out of the 1 year warranty period for the computer. However, the battery warranty may still be in effect since that was extended. More about that below.
    When you call Apple with unresolved issues, you may wish to ask for Apple Customer Relations. They are an upper tier whose mission is to try and solve problems so that Apple customers are happy.
    Also, I am wondering about the diagnosis you received and if you might want to look for a second opinion. When there are charging problems such as you describe, in general you want to look at the battery, the power adaptor (charger), or the left I/O Board. If one or more of these are malfunctioning, you can get charging problems. If your computer is working while plugged into the power adaptor without other issues, I would not expect there to be a problem with the logic board. Sometimes if someone does not know what is wrong, they will diagnose the logic board. But I would be very skeptical of this diagnosis until other possibilities are eliminated.
    The first thing to do is to reset the SMC:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411?viewlocale=en_US
    The next thing to check is to see if your battery might be covered by the following article. If it is, you should be able to get a free replacement from Apple. The article will also help you to recognize the characteristics of a malfunctioning battery.
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
    Since you can apparently run your Mac from the Power Adaptor alone, it would argue that the adaptor and the left I/O Board are both working to some extent.
    You might check your battery characteristics in the System Profiler and compare them to what the OP posted. If you have under 300 cycles and battery health of "fair" or worse, then your problem could well just be the battery. If so, it would be a far less expensive fix than a new logic board, even if you have to buy a new one.
    Do you happen to have any friends with the same MBP? If so, see if you can try their power adaptor and then their battery. Swapping out your battery and power adaptor with ones that are known to be good will go a long ways towards isolating the problem. If your problem persists with a known good battery and a known good power adaptor, then you may be looking at a new left I/O Board, which is much less expensive than a logic board.
    Good luck!

  • I have 2 HP AC adaptors, How do I know which AC adaptor fits my printer?

    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    0n the printer, near the power jack, should have a power details, something like "32v 1.5A", match that with the same on the adaptor. Also, they are color coded and some has a key, so the wrong one probably wouldn't fit anyway.

  • Battery charging and power adaptor issues

    I'm having slight issues with both my power adaptor and the battery itself.
    First I think I have cord issues as the light status can change from dim green to red or bright green if I move the cord around.
    Second, my MBP is having trouble recognising if power is going to the battery or if it's charging etc. It can recognise if there's no adaptor connected at all, but if there's an adaptor connected, it has trouble seeing if there's power coming from the adaptor even if the light is on. I.e. it can stay at 100% and supply comes from the power adaptor and then suddenly drop to 80% power and start charging agan. One issue that happened earlier today was the adaptor was connected, and the battery indicator was at 100% with supply from the adaptor. Suddenly the MBP shutdown, and when I rebooted it was at 17% (I've tried repeating that in case of a dodgy battery but I couldn't)

    If that doesn't help, the problem could be the adapter, the battery, or the I/O board (or a couple of less likely things). If you can borrow another adapter and/or battery, try them to see where the problem is. Or, if you're near an Apple Store, take it in and they'll diagnose it for you (for free, but they will charge for repairs if you need them and don't have AppleCare).

  • Power adaptor and battery HOT!

    This is the message I sent to Apple a few minutes ago. Maybe some of you can have some answers as well. Thanks!
    "Dear Apple,
    First of all, I would like to kindly express my apologies for using the feedback form to send you some thoughts about my MAC. I did not know who else to address to.
    I have bought my MAC in September 2009, through the Apple Store online. It has been delivered in Norway, where I am living in the present.
    Unfortunately, I have never been very satisfied with it, due to two main issues.
    First, I have noticed a problem with the battery and power adaptor since the very first day. They are both heating up very fast, after just some minutes, and then the mac is really, really slow (even if I have just one open application). I have tried a few times to go to a service provider in Oslo, but they said it's working fine. The first time I had a visit with a service was in the first week after I bought it. Then, when I had this screen problem, so I took advantage and I asked them to check again the battery (they had it for a week or two). They said it was fine. A few weeks ago I visited 3 different services with the same issue - no problems found.
    Of course one could say that this is the proper way of working of a mac, but how can a mac work so slow when they all say it is so fast? I have asked around and none of my friends had a similar problem, since they've purchased it.
    I decided to write you now due to the fact that a few days ago I had to use a friend's mac for some hours (which is older than mine, a simple MacBook; plus, he uses it much often than me). It was working perfectly! Not at all slow, no heating.
    Then yesterday I had my power adaptor plugged in for half an hour - then I saw that the mac was not charging (how come?). When I touched the power adaptor, I literally burned my finger. Of course I got scared as well. I tried to change the power adaptor with another one - it did not get so heat up, but the battery of the mac was still burning, as usual. I used to keep my old PC in my lap, with the mac it was always impossible, unfortunately.
    With lots of regrets I am writing this message. I have never felt that I had a 'real mac', like the other friends of mine, although I was so excited in the beginning. I sincerely hope that I am a unique user.
    Now I am planning to sell it to someone (I don't think I can get even half of the price now, since it is pretty old) and get back to some usual PC. With all the regrets in the world, again, because some of the features were indeed really cool (like the trackpad, for eg).
    Thank you for reading this! Good luck with your future products! And may God rest in peace Steve Jobs, I hope the business will not be affected.
    Best regards,

    Yes it can hurt and potentially create a fire hazard if you use the wrong adapter. Get the correct one.
    As for the display resolution the 867 Mhz TiBook was released on this release as a:

    we followed the README.txt instructions, and stop/start weblogic service before/after apply patch. Can anyone suggest a solution or Doc ID for helping us?
    thank you very much!

    Solutions: Bounce the applications and check the arguments if you can increase it.  It is due to memory issue
    You can set these values in CommEnv.sh (.cmd for windows) file located in the weblogic_home/common/bin directory.
    This gets applied to all the domains under that wls home.
    If you want to make the changes to specific domain then edit the SetDomainEnv.sh file located under the domain/bin directory.

  • Backing up - how to solve after copying whole system - login incorrect

    Hello,
    I have done an script to backup the whole filesystem and restore it. I am making tests before using forever.
    For Windows I use ntfsclone and it works perfect, but for ArchLinux I am doing:
    I use Knoppix cd-live to manage everything. I load the script from /dev/sda4 (data partition in ntfs) and the main commands to backup and restore are:
    Without doing chroot (because it is not possible)
    sudo mount /dev/sda5 /media/sda5 #This is the / of ArchLinux
    sudo rsync -aAXv /media/sda5/* /media/sda4/seccopy/ --exclude={/media/sda5/dev/*,/media/sda5/proc/*,/media/sda5/tmp/*,/media/sda5/run/*,/media/sda5/mnt/*,/media/sda5/media/*,/media/sda5/lost+found,/media/sda5/home/*,/media/sda5/var/lib/pacman/sync/*}
    cd /media/sda4/seccopy/
    sudo tar -zcvf /media/sda4/arch_copy.tar.gz ./*
    To restore:
    sudo mount /dev/sda5 /media/sda5
    sudo rm -r /media/sda5/*
    sudo tar -zxvf /media/sda4/arch_copy.tar.gz -C /media/sda5
    I can check that the files are copied correctly.
    I can do (and really do) the same with the home partition, same process but changing sda5 by sda6, and instead of arch_copy.tar.gz, arch_home_copy.tar.gz
    When I restart to boot in the new copied system... the problem:
    I go to the normal grub option for Arch Linux and I try again to put the password for ussr1, and nothing.
    I type it, enter, wait some seconds and prompt me again.
    I try with the root user, and its password, and the same problem. Not access to the system.
    I try in tty1, and the same problem, it says:
    Login incorrect
    First question: How to solve this situation?
    I think maybe the problem is something about /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow, and also I try to make chroot to see if it works.
    If I try to do chroot from Knoppix to the ArchLinux restored, it is not possible, everything goes ok from this wiki:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Change_Root
    but fails in this:
    Note: If you see the error chroot: cannot run command '/bin/bash': Exec format error, it is likely that the two architectures do not match.
    I don't know what is "architectures". I installed x86_64 in ArchLinux.
    Second question: Is because the Knoppix 7.0.4 (debian based) uses other? Like i686?
    I see in Internet this:
    http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/recoverin … -file.html
    It is not my problem, but maybe it is a way to know if is correct or not,...-
    mode "recovery", edit, add to linux line after "ro single": init=/bin/bash
    Ctrl+x
    Logged as root automatically:
    Third question: Why is not prompted the password? And illegitimate user can see everything doing this.
    $ mount -rw -o remount /
    $ mount -rw -o remount /home
    mount: /home not mounted or bad option
    In some cases useful info is found in syslog -try
    dmesg | tail or so
    Fourth question: Why i cannot mount the home? It is in the /dev/sda6, but for the / it didn't say anything to me. I cannot see the /home directory.
    $ cat /etc/passwd
    #- Has the root user and the ussr1 user
    $ cat /etc/shadow
    #- Has the root and ussr1 password coded.
    $ passwd
    Enter new UNIX password:
    Retype new UNIX password:
    Fifth question: Why is not prompted for the before password?     (following the steps i can imagine that this doesn't work, so, is not a security problem)
    $ passwd ussr1
    Enter new UNIX password:
    Retype new UNIX password:
    $ sudo reboot:
    sudo: /usr/lib/sudoers.so must be only be writable by owner
    sudo: fatal error, unable to laod plugins
    $ reboot
    Failed to talk to init daemon.
    $ exit
    exit
    [ 377.105707] Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100
    [ 377.105707]
    Sixth question: Why I cannot exit correctly? It also happen if I use the Arch in Live mode (and try to exit).
    The only way to avoid this problem is unpluging from electrical power (not even with the power button).
    I start the system again, I go to the normal grub option for Arch Linux and I try again to put the password for ussr1, and nothing.
    I type it, enter, wait some seconds and prompt me again.
    The same as first question: How to solve this situation?
    My idea is only use Knoppix live-cd to use as backup/restore system, but if it is not possible, I would like to know how to solve.
    The idea of using rsync instead of dd is because I want to save only the data, and not all the sectors (not enough space in the hard disk).
    I don't mind to have to use arch linux usb installation media as it is "knoppix live-cd", the only thing I would like to use is the same media to do all the operations, because I want to teach normal users how to do it by themselves.

    cfr wrote:What's the exit value when you run passwd? (man passwd will show what the exit values mean.)
    value 0 -> success
    cfr wrote:Have you tried changing the password to something *other* than the existing password?
    tried for example with "something" for both, "root" and "ussr1"
    but if I go to /etc/shadow, I see that the passwords coded for root and ussr1 are not the same, so must be coded with other things too.
    cfr wrote:Have you tried creating a new user and logging in as that user?
    I added another user, for example "try"
    useradd -m -g users -s /bin/bash try
    passwd try & echo "$?"
    .. (something)
    0
    Ok, after just add the user, if I go to /home/ I can see some files created automatically, and if I compare those files with the files that I pasted in my ussr1 account, there are two that are missed:
    .xinitrc
    .xsession
    xinitrc is executed by startx (so, it is because the X11..)
    and..ok, xsession the same (xdm/gdm/kdm). So nothing here.
    I also add "try" to the groups: lp, games, video, audio, optical, storage, scanner   with:
    gpasswd -a try lp
    cfr wrote:Have you run pwck and grpck to check the integrity of the files? (I doubt this is the issue but it seems an easy step to do just on the off chance.)
    Ok, if I do:
    $ pwck; echo "$?"
    0
    $ pwck /etc/passwd; echo "$?"
    0
    $ pwck /etc/shadow; echo "$?"
    invalid password file entry
    delete line 'root:ahskldfhajksdfkahsjkdhf...asdkfhjashdkfjh:15795::::::'?
    invalid password file entry
    delete line 'bin:x:14871::::::'?
    so forth..with: root, bin, daemon, mail, ftp, http, uuidd, dbus and nobody
    user 'ussr1': directory '7' does not exist
    user 'polkitd': directory '7' does not exist
    user 'usbmux': directory '7' does not exist
    user 'mysql': directory '7' does not exist
    invalid password file entry
    delete line 'kdm:!:15793::::::'?
    invalid password file entry
    delete line 'avahi:!:15793::::::'?
    user 'try': directory '7' does not exist
    pwck: no changes
    2
    $grpck /etc/group; echo "$?"
    0
    $grpck /etc/gshadow; echo "$?"
    invalid group file entry
    delete line 'root:::root'?
    invalid group file entry
    delete line 'root:::root'?
    invalid group file entry
    delete line 'root:::root'?
    ...so forth
    with: root, bin, daemon, sys, adm, tty, disk, lp, mem, kmem, wheel, ftp, mail, uucp, log, utmp, locate, rfkill, smmsp, http, games, lock, uuidd, dbus, network, video, audio, optical, floppy, storage, scanner, power, nobody, users, systemd-journal, polkitd, usbmux, mysql, kdm, avahi
    grpck: no changes
    2
    So, cat /etc/gshadow | wc -l    = 40 lines
    And grpck /etc/gshadow | wc -l  = 40 lines
    And the same for /etc/shadow = 16 lines and the pwck were 11 "delete line" and 5 "directory '7' does not exist"
    But as we see, even the try has some error... in this case with directory '7'.
    I don't understand why errors... theoretically they were copied and pasted without modifications
    NOTE** Ok, my fault, I have to execute the command like this: $ pwck -r /etc/passwd /etc/shadow; echo "$?"    and now it answers: 0         So, the integrity of both files are correct! And the same with group and gshadow

    Inside the chroot, run pacman -Qk | grep -v ", 0 missing"
    And see if there are any packages that should be reinstalled.
    If not, reinstall pam, just for good measure
    With
    $pacman -Qk | grep -v ", 0 missing"
    no results.
    I execute it without doing anything before with pacman, no updating, absolutely nothing.
    pam?
    i search for pam, and i find "pam mount", something like "encrypted home". But Was it activated by default?
