How to solve problem with Installer Package for itunes

Hi! I'm attempting to upadte itunes so I can get the latest software for my iphone. It's a 3GS. Every time when ready to instal it says I have a problem with the installer package  -  something is missing. What can I do to solve this?

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START > CONTROL PANEL >
Add n Remove Programs(XP)
Programs n Features(Win7/Vista)
highlight ASU and click CHANGE then REPAIR,

  • How do i get the installation package for Adobe Bridge

    Hello,
    Our Creative services Department have taken a Creative Cloud account and they only want to install Adobe Bridge, however when i access the Creative Cloud account there is no installer for Adobe Bridge. Now i believe Bridge is installed as part of the installation package for other Creative Cloud products such as Photoshop, so how would i find the installer package for just Bridge?
    Any help greatly appreciated

    and it seems like I saw this somewhere,

  • Where or how do I find the installation package containing "iTunes.msi"?

    I have iTunes 10.5.3.3 installed on my computer with a Windows XP operating system.  I have tried to download the new itunes 10.6 but continually get a pop up which states "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is currently unavailable.  Enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "iTunes.msi".  I have tried  and failed to find this package.
    I have also tried the support page suggestion by uninstalling the old itunes and then install the new one.  This did not work.  Another pop up also tells me that I cannot remove the old (10.5.3.3) itunes...because..." the feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is currently unavailable". I am caught in a loop.  It appears that I need to locate the "iTunes.msi" installation package in order to be able to uninstall the old and replace with the new iTunes upgrade.
    Where or how do I find the installation package containing "iTunes.msi"?  Secondly, when I find it is there anything special I need to do or be aware of?

    Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    I am trying to update ITunes from 10.4 to 10.5 I have tried from both the program, and from a download on Apple's website. Regardless, I get the following error messages: (1) Installation package for iTunes cannot be found. Try installing to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.  I can't find this folder. I have tried to completely unistall iTunes through the Control Panel, but it wouldn't let me: I tried going directly to the files themselves, but cannot uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated. System OS: Win XP SP 3.

    Set the permissions for Everyone in the folder in which CCPackager created, to "Read/Write" enabled. This is strange since there is only an administrator account on the Mac (and that account already has read/write), but it seems to resolve the issue.

  • Error code 2318 (problem with installation package) HELP

    Ok so I tried to download itunes earlier today, and it went fine until the very end, I got this message...
    ''The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2318''
    So I went through and tried to repair the itunes to no avail. So I removed everything and ran the microsoft installer cleanup utility, then re-installed itunes and quicktime. Again everything went fine until the end, got the same ''2318'' error message. Itunes shows up on my desktop, as does quicktime. When I click itunes I get a pop up window telling me the application must close due to error, would I like to send an error report.
    So I went back and uninstalled everything AGAIN, and now its downloading again. I'm getting kidn of peeved... can anyone help me?

    ok I got it. Had to end up doing a small overhaul on the computer to remove the corrupted ''sample.mov'' file out of the quicktime folder, but its working now.

    How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X

    @MFC_0809,
    Thanks for posting the screenshot, which confirms which installer (there are several) is being problematic.
    Please try the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page, in the 'Still having problems' section.
    Haravikk the Horse,
    Do you license Flash Player?  That is not a public download URL for Flash Player, so curious as to where you obtained that URL from.

  • How to solve problem with Macbook/Boxee/TV?

    I have connected my macbook to my TV using an adaptor cable, and I have downloaded Boxee. I am able to see my computer screen on the TV, though it appears as a doubled version of it in which software does not run. This doubled screen is to the right of my normal computer screen. I can, for example, open Safari on my computer and drag the browser to the right (offscreen on my computer) and it will show up on my TV. I cannot see the Boxee program at all when I open it on my computer, as it does not drag and drop.
    Any thoughts? Is this a problem with my connection cable, and how I've attached the Macbook to the TV? Is this a problem with the display of my MacBook and/or Spaces? I am stumped.
    Thanks for your help.

    You have the display set in "extended desktop" mode. In "System Preferences">"Display" there should be an "Arrangement" tab when you have the TV hooked up to the MacBook and both screens working. Do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a "Menu Bar" at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. When you disconnect from the TV your Menu bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.

  • Cannot upgrade iTunes because cannot uninstall itunes 9.0.2.25. Error: The installation source for this product is unavailable. The file c:/... itunes.msi is not a valid installation package for itunes.

    I also get the error. "Cannot uninstall the older version of iTunes. Contact your technical support group."
    How do I download the itunes.msi for iTunes 9.0.2.25 so that I can remove this phantom and unfunctioning program and then hopefully upgrade to the latest version of iTunes 10.5?

  • [SOLVED] Problem with adding package update count to dwm's status bar

    Following http://www.andreascarpino.it/blog/posts … s-part-ii/, I added:

    Along with
    #!/bin/bash
    # ~/bin/tempdb
    fakedb=/dev/shm/fakepacdb
    realdb=/var/lib/pacman
    [[ ! -d $fakedb ]] && { mkdir -p "$fakedb/sync" || exit 1; }
    [[ ! -L $fakedb/local ]] && { ln -s "$realdb/local" "$fakedb" || exit 2; }
    exec fakeroot pacman --dbpath "$fakedb" -Sy
    pkgs=$(pacman --dbpath "$fakedb" -Qqu | wc -l)
    aurpkgs=$(cower -udf 2> /dev/null | wc -l)
    unset msg1
    unset msg2
    unset packages
    msg1="pacman: 0"
    msg2="aur: 0"
    if [[ ${pkgs} -gt 0 ]]; then
    msg1="pacman: ${pkgs}"
    fi
    if [[ ${aurpkgs} -gt 0 ]]; then
    msg2="aur: ${aurpkgs}"
    fi
    updb="UPDB: ${msg1}, ${msg2}"
    export updb
    The problems is with being able to export the variable updb, because exporting only exports to subshells. I also have my ~/bin/dwmstatus script:
    #!/bin/bash
    sep=" | "
    volsep="VOL"
    datesep="DATE"
    timesep="TIME"
    vol=$(amixer get Master | tail -1 | sed 's/.*\[\([0-9]*%\)\].*/\1/')
    volstat=$(amixer get Master | tail -n 1 | cut -d' ' -f 8-)
    sdate=$(date +"%B %d")
    stime=$(date +"%r")
    if [[ ${volstat} == "[off]" ]];
    then
    vol="--%"
    fi
    out="${updb} ${sep} ${volsep} ${vol} ${sep} ${datesep} ${sdate} ${sep} ${timesep} ${stime}"
    xsetroot -name "${out}"
    I only want the checking of updates to occur every few minutes (for now I tried 10), and just using the exported variable that contains the whole
    "UPDB: pacman:3, aur:1",..
    I'm not exactly sure how to fix my hacked-together scripts. When I simply run the tempdb script, it doesn't do much exept for updating to the fake database, but being able to use the updb variable has not worked yet. I also tried sourcing the script, but that just quits urxvt when running in dwm, and it logs me out when sourcing from plain X.
    I guess my main question is: what is the best way to show updates from the dwm status bar, or how can I fix what I am trying to do now?

    Okay, I see it. But your ups() function checks /tmp/aurupdates; how do you check for AUR updates? I looked at your repos, and saw
    pac()
    pup="$(pacman -Qqu --dbpath /tmp/checkup-db-jason/ | wc -l)"
    if [ $pup == 0 ]; then
    echo "0"

    This is what you use along with keenerd's checkupdates, right?

    When I try to load the plugin into Sylpheed-Claws I get the following error:

    Found the problem, it was a PEBKAC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEBKAC) issue <sigh>.
    Things worked so much better after I cleared the cache in Firefox. Then I was able to download the NEW package. The build and install went fine after that.

  • [Solved] Problem with file permissions for a group

    I'm working on a simple Apache HTTP server just to get a small education in proper unix work.
    To save myself sudoing everything (and generally because it seems the proper way to use unix), I'm trying to give my user control over the /srv directory. So I ran:
    - `sudo groupadd srvadmin` to create a group called srvadmin
    - `sudo chown -R :srvadmin /srv` to change the group-owner of /srv to srvadmin (and all files inside it)
    - `sudo chmod -vR g+w /srv` to give /srv and all its files group write permission
    - `sudo gpasswd -a <me> srvadmin` to add my user to the srvadmin group
    But I still can't create or edit files in /srv
    "ls -l / | grep srv" gives:
    drwxrwxr-x 4 root srvadmin 4096 Dec 19 17:44 srv
    all the files and directories inside /srv also have group write permissions and are owned by user "root" and group "srvadmin"
    "cat /etc/group | grep srv" gives:
    srvadmin:x:1000:<me>
    However, possibly herein lies a clue:
    "id" gives:
    uid=1000(<me>) gid=100(users) groups=100(users),7(lp),10(wheel),50(games),91(video),92(audio),93(optical),95(storage),96(scanner),98(power)
    That is, "id" doesn't tell me I'm in the srvadmin group.
    It seems like there's an important concept about groups and permissions that I'm not getting, but reading several man and wiki pages hasn't enlightened me. Could anyone suggest what I'm missing?
    Thanks.

    No, our job is to tell you to do it yourself: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … ow_to_Post (second to last bullet)
    Ok, this is pretty embarrassing given the parallels with the topic of this thread, but I coudn't edit the title (which is the reason for my earlier remark; I assumed I didn't have permission)!
    The text box was un-editable (not "disabled", I just couldn't edit the text in it). I managed to change it in the end by deleting all the text and typing a new title. I think it may have been just because the title was at the exact character limit.

    i dont understand the error, but as i tried the same with the default config.h, its not due to my changes. i dont get the error when using
    makepkg -i
    but my changes weren't taken (obviously). for some reason, i cant overwrite the default package!?

    The warning messages are as clear as it gets:
    config.h:35:2: warning: missing braces around initializer [-Wmissing-braces]
    1;
    ^
    'config.h' is the filename, '35:2' is the position - 35th line, 2nd column. You even get the line in question printed out: '1;' with and "arrow" pointing to it from below - '^'.

  • How to solve problem with where-used list?

    I've the problem that in many places of my FPM (floorplan manager, web dynpro) code the where-used list does not work anymore because the FPM functions force the developer to specify structure of column names by literals. So for example in the UIBB's GET_DEFINITION methods or when using the following piece of code in some PROCESS_EVENT function:
    CASE io_event->mv_event_id.
         WHEN if_fpm_guibb_list=>gc_guibb_list_on_cell_action.
         io_event->mo_event_data->get_value(
              EXPORTING
                   iv_key = if_fpm_guibb_list=>gc_event_par_column_name
              IMPORTING
                   ev_value = lv_col_name
              if ( lv_col_name = 'FOO' ).
              endif.
    endcase.
    Here one must comapare (line 9) the variable lv_col_name with some literal containing the name of an element of a structure. So the where-used list on STRUCT-FOO does not find this source. Is there any way to fix this problem? I thought to use RTTI for it, but could not find any way to do this. Possibly, is there any pragam or pseudo comment to update the where-used list of a specific structure at a given place?

    The point is that when I start using RS_ABAP_SOURCE_SCAN I have to remember to do this I don't like the situation that after changing some name of a structure's element, the source code of the whole application is correct, no error will occur but the behaviour of the application may be totally wrong. Possibility a better solution will be to add some constants containing the structure element names to the model class of the FPM application.

    (Sorry for my 'painful' English!)

    I encountered a kernal panic for CPU 0) unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerBook 5,2")
    I believe that driver is munged on the HD, or the HD is munged, seen several just like that on 2.5" drives, never on a 3.5"er btw.
    If you can copy/retrieve your important data, I think you need to Zero the internal HD & start over, though if Permissions get repaired on it, you might try a reinstall of the latest big Combo Update... 2nd an Archive & install.
